Momentum Monday

“What separates people that get what they want out of life from those people who do not get what they want out of life is their response to challenges.”
Dr. Steven G. Jones

Although I don’t believe this is the only thing that separates these two groups of people, it’s an extremely important point.

Think about yourself and how you respond to a challenge. Do you crawl up in a ball and want to die? Sometimes that’s ok initially. What’s not productive is when that behavior or thought process continues on and on and on. Do you get mad and decide that this is not going to beat you? That you’ll find a way to conquer the challenge, to climb up and over whatever obstacle is in your way? That is the way of the warrior, the person who excels at life.

Remember that there are two different vibrations at play when you are confronted with a problem. There is the vibration of the problem and if you continue to think about the “problem”, you will stay on that lower vibration and not move anywhere – you are focusing on the problem so that is what you’ll get more of. Maybe the problem won’t get worse but it won’t get any better either when your vibration remains on the problem.

You have to raise your vibration to the level of the solution – a much higher vibration. Instead of thinking about and focusing on the problem, concentrate on the solution. Tell the Universe you are ready to receive the answer and you know that it’s out there waiting to be delivered to you.

Think back to your past and think about when you’ve discovered a solution to something – what have you felt like when you’ve been in the process? Maybe take a look at a time at work when a problem has been identified. Everyone might respond with “oh nuts, what do we do now?” But then you all got your heads together and brainstormed until you figured it out. What kind of elation did you all feel? Use that as  “Kodak Moment” to elevate your vibration when you’re after a solution to your current problem.

I don’t even use the word problem once I’ve identified what it is. I think about how great it’s going to be when I come up with the solution to x, y, z – describing the situation if I must. Or preferably I use something that’s brief but objectively describes the situation. Then I go right back to looking for the solutions – opening my heart and mind to the Universe to deliver the answer to me.  I use some of the processes we’ve talked about – the 68 second process, rampage of appreciation and even the “wouldn’t it be nice if….”.  If you’re skeptical or it’s the first time, you can use “I’m in the process of….”

Next time you come across a challenge, immediately switch to the solution seeking mode and your vibration will automatically elevate with you! Try it, you’ll like it. Don’t dwell on the problem.  Move out and move up!

The YOUniverse

youniverse With all the talk we’ve done about vibrations and momentum, it’s so important to realize that EVERYTHING in your life is centered around YOU. That’s why you should think of your surroundings as your YOUniverse.

No, this is NOT selfish but it is self-centered. Most people have a negative reaction to that phrase too – self-centered. But, if you understand the Law of Attraction and the fact that you create everything in your life, you will realize that this requires self-centeredness (is that a word?).

However, this concept is also the most generous and giving there is. Because if you get your own momentum going in the direction you wish (some call it positive although there really is no positive and negative when it comes to emotions) and your vibrations are elevated, you will be doing more for those around you than you can by taking conscious actions.

When you create your world, it’s so important that you focus on the things that make you feel good. Focusing on them will bring more of that good feeling into your life. Remember that you only have to “Ask” the Universe once for something. Then move on to raising your vibration and getting yourself in the right space (vibration) to accept what you have asked for. That 3rd step is the hardest part for us humans. We “ask” all the time – any time we think about something for more than 17 seconds we’ve essentially asked for more of it.  After we’ve asked, the Universe immediately provides it – but what happened? It sure hasn’t appeared as a physical manifestation in your life. So does that mean it doesn’t work? No, it means two things, one of which we should be very grateful for – we cannot immediately manifest things in our life – there is the Law of Gestation which means that things come into your life when the time is right. Dr. Kunath used to use a great example in her own  life. When her kids were little she recognized one day how grateful she was that she didn’t immediately manifest what she said. She found herself looking out the door and seeing her kids playing on top of the neighbor’s roof. She screamed at them “Get down from there – you’re going to fall and break your neck”. At that moment she realized that we needed much more Divine Wisdom to be able to immediately manifest. Otherwise some of the really stupid things we say would actually come true. She also gave a presentation at one of the big international conferences on “Oops, what do you do when you get what you asked for”.  Something to think about for sure. Thank goodness for the requirement for 68 seconds of focus (concentrating on something for a series of 4 consecutive 17 second periods puts the Universe into action bringing you what you’ve asked for). Most people can’t (or don’t) focus on one thing for that long.

The second implication from not receiving what we ask for (or so it seems) is even more important. We must “Allow” the physical manifestation to come into our life.  Many times this is because we’ve been taught that we shouldn’t ask for things or 1236855_603864969656204_580817517_nthat we have to deserve something or earn something.  We have all sorts of limiting beliefs – beliefs that keep us from accepting that we are deserving, we are worthy of receiving what we’ve asked for.  That’s where the vibration/emotions and momentum comes into play. Concentrating on your YOUniverse and how you feel and think and act with the express purpose of being at the highest vibration possible while generating and maintaining momentum on a higher plane will put you in a space where you allow the Universe to bring you what you asked for. Remember my analogy of placing your order (asking), the company fulfills and ships the order (the Universe gives you what you’ve asked for). The shipper is at your front door but if you don’t answer the door or open it to receive what you’ve ordered, you will continually think that your order has not been filled. And you’ll get disappointed, discouraged and disbelieving.

It’s so important for you to work on realizing that what you have in your life is something you’ve asked for at another time in your life. Make a list of the good and bad things that you’ve experienced and see if at some point in the past you hadn’t been concerned or focused on something of that nature.

Being positive, by itself, won’t work. You can say affirmations all day long (and I’m a big believer in affirmations), but if you haven’t cleared the land of your limiting beliefs (especially the self-worth and deserving beliefs), you will blocking the good from coming into your life. For example, you can say affirmations in the morning and the evening but if all day long, you’re thinking about those bills you can’t pay, that is what’s prominent in your vibrations and feelings. As such, you’ve spent much more time on the not having enough money to pay your bills, that you will receive more and more of that as long as you continue thinking that way.

This is why my YOUniversal phrases are (I know I repeat them a lot but they have gotten me out of trouble so many times that I can’t say them enough):

“That is not my truth”

“Nothing and nobody can interfere with my prosperity, well-being and peace of mind, not even myself!”

And say them with emphasis. Keep saying them until your fear or anxiety level has significantly decreased and you can focus on one of your “Kodak Moments” stored in the album in your mind – mine is always running related and it works!

Concentrating on your life will bring you all you need to provide the love and kindness for others that you really want to. You hear all the time that you have to love yourself before you can love others. That applies in every aspect of your life.

Start working more in your YOUniverse and remember the 17 second rule (four periods of focusing for 17 seconds will get you to 68 seconds and that is essential for bringing the manifestation into your life).

Spring Cleaning – Clutters Last Stand

iStock_000016269188SmallDepending on what part of the country you’re in you might already have done your spring cleaning – at least on the surface. Then again, given this year’s winter, you may NOT have gotten to it yet.

Regardless, it’s like making a new beginning. We can always do spring cleaning – no matter the time of year.  Just calling it spring cleaning makes you feel young again too.

So, why am I talking about cleaning here? Because there are at least two types of cleaning – external and internal.

External is as important sometimes as internal. You have to have a clean external environment in order to allow your energy to flow freely. Sometimes, though, this is a formidable task. What then? If that’s the case, then start small. Dedicate (and commit to) 5 minutes a day to unclutter some area of your home or office. You can certainly do 5 minutes without getting overwhelmed…and it’s hard to say that you just don’t have even 5 minutes to spare. Look at it as if it’s an appointment because it needs to be something you’re set on achieving. I think you’ll be surprised to see that once you get into it, you’ll go even longer than 5 minutes – maybe only 10 or you may stick to the 5 minutes but if you stick to that, you will have accomplished a goal! How cool is that?

Pick out the area that bothers you the most and go to work on that. Set a goal for that area – be able to walk through without tripping, be able to find your notes easily, open your bills and file them so that doing your taxes will be easier etc. You know what it is you want to be able to do.  Put it down on a piece of paper or better yet, on your calendar every day or every other day. Then it’s become an appointment. Once you have your external environment clean and empty (or even organized), you will have allowed the Universe to make readily available the things you have asked for in Step 1 (Ask and it is given).

But what about the internal cleaning we have to do. There are so many emotions we just store up and never do anything useful with. In fact, they are like the physical clutter in our environment and they prevent the movement of the good emotions figure_clean_carpet_400_clr_3782 and thoughts we wish to have in our lives. If you are filled with anger and resentment, how can you experience the joy and happiness you wish for? You can’t because there is no room for those emotions to float around and bathe your soul.

How do you do the spring cleaning of your mind?

1. Make a list – free flow – of the emotions that are rummaging around in your mind right now. Just let it roll. Are you experiencing fear? Are you worried about a bunch of things? Are you angry at your friends or coworkers for something? Do you have resentment for not getting a better job or a raise or a position you’re after? Are you angry at an ex whom you feel treated you poorly? I could go on and on, but you get the picture. Write down all emotions that come to your mind.

2. Take that list and write next to each feeling the emotion you want to replace it with. If you’re unhappy write happiness or joy. If you’re resentful about something, write what you wish to feel – is it peaceful? Is it contentment? Write down whatever it is you really want to feel.

3. Once you have the list of the emotions you want to experience, try holding thoughts about that emotion for 17 seconds (leading to the 68 second process). Once the 17 seconds has become comfortable move on to either the 68 second process or the “wouldn’t it be nice if” process.

4. Talk out loud for 68 seconds about how you will feel with these emotions being prominent. Something like “I feel so peaceful and relaxed. I am happy and content. I have so many positive emotions inside my emotional bank that I am overflowing with joy……” and just keep going on for 68 seconds.

5. If this is hard to imagine, try the “wouldn’t it be nice if….” where you substitute what you desire after the “wouldn’t it be nice if..” – that makes it a bit easier for the subconscious to believe and respond to.

6. In a few days or a week, try the whole process again. Write down the emotions you are now experiencing.  See what’s changed. Hopefully you’ve done the uncluttering in your physical space as well as in your mind and you’ll see the difference.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1Yesterday was Easter and since most people are busy on that day, I saved my “Easter Message” til today – very fitting, too, because it’s all about Momentum!

A good friend reminded me last week that Easter is about New Beginnings and that was a great thought for me given the last 5-6 weeks. So I thought that everyone could benefit from thinking about what their new beginning was going to be and also how to start your new beginning. Everyone always thinks of Christmas or the New Year as the time to make resolutions and therefore a “New Beginning”.  But, we can actually make a new start, another “beginning” at any time.

One of the problems, though, is identifying what it is you want to change. In other words, identify where your momentum is right now and where you want it to be.  That’s the easy part. After that you might look at triggers and beliefs and what your feelings/vibrations are right now.

What is it that’s bothering you right now (if anything)? If everything is going as you like it in your life and you don’t want to change anything, that’s great and you just need to keep that momentum going – keep telling that story and build on it.

But, if there are things you’d like to change (even if they aren’t “bad”), then this is the time to examine them and start changing your story. In reality all you need to do is stop telling the old story and start telling the story you want to be happening in your life. You can do this even if it seems foreign to you because it hasn’t happened yet. The more you tell that story and visualize the results you want, the greater likelihood that you will ultimately change your vibration which is essential for you to achieve what you want. It isn’t enough to just say you want something all the while you’re still focusing on the things you don’t want. That’s why telling the wanted story and visualizing your successes is so vital. You have to have the feeling of success and achievement permeate your being so that your vibrations do match your desire. If you want well being and health, you can’t keep saying “I want to be pain-free” or “I want to breathe better” or “I want my joints to stop hurting” or “I want to be healed”. All of those phrases are focusing on what you have now which is what you do NOT want. But the fact that you are focusing on the pain, the trouble breathing, etc, means that you will get more of that. Even saying “I want to be healed” means you are still focusing on being ill (or else you wouldn’t need to be healed, right?).

Instead, you would say things like “my joints move with such fluidity and carry me everywhere I wish to go”, “I breathe easily and deeply”,  “I am whole and healthy and my body can do anything I ask of it.” Visualize what each of your phrases square_onemeans to you. Use the 68 second process too. Talk to yourself or a loved one/friend for 68 seconds about how great you feel when you have these things.  If you’re a runner and your knees are hurting, say things like “I run miles and miles and miles and feel so free and happy. I am ecstatic with my speed and endurance. I love to run and it brings me nothing but pleasure. I am running in the Boston Marathon. I am completing my 100 mile run……etc.” Notice I did not mention anything about knees or pain or anything other than the joy I was experiencing. If you talked at all about your knees, it would bring you back to the pain in your knees.

Once you’ve identified the things that you want to change (health, work, relationships, etc), list each one on a piece of paper (or in your computer), then write down what you are feeling about that thing – are you feeling resentment, anger, fear, embarrassment or shame, disappointment, despair, etc. List them all.

Then beneath that list, write down the beliefs you have about that thing – do you believe you aren’t good enough to get another job, that all men (or women) cheat on their spouse,  that all the good men (or women) are already taken, that you can’t get any more income because you have a salary job, etc. What have you “decided” about this area of your life? Remember that a belief is a thought you keep thinking over and over again. So, if you’ve experienced similar results from certain activities in the past, you most likely have developed/created certain beliefs surrounding that activity. This is vital to identify because you most likely don’t even know you created or have that belief since it’s now embedded in your subconscious.

Once you have this table/list, you can look at it and start writing on another piece of paper what it is you want to believe and experience.

Then start talking about those things. Stop yourself when you find yourself telling your old story. Enlist the help of a friend to keep you from telling your story too. We often feel we have to tell everyone how we got to a certain point – often in excruciating detail. Yet, all that does is turn your momentum downward toward the thing you’re trying to change. No one needs to know all that history. You really can rewrite your legacy based on the story you tell. So from now on just tell the story that’s going to make your momentum fly you high and keep it going.

Good luck with your list and your new beginning. If you commit to doing this and especially changing your story telling techniques, you will change your life!
