You Have To Feel To Make Things Work…

You can say all the affirmations you want and think positive thoughts day in and day out but that, alone, will not bring what you want to your life.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against affirmations at all. I live with them and they are important to keep me on track and help reprogram my subconscious.

However, affirmations by themselves are just words.  We are all vibrational beings so what really makes the difference in your life and in getting what you want in life is your FEELINGS!

I remember when I was forced to find a new place to move to when I transferred from Portsmouth, Virginia just up the road to Quantico. I had a house already “bought” in a new development and the movers had already come and my household goods were destined for this new house. Then, I got a call from the realtor that there was some “problem” and I wasn’t going to be able to move in right away – all Greek stuff to me. To make a long story short, I told him we had to  find me a new place and quickly. It was the weekend and my stuff was supposed to be delivered on Monday…my mom came up with me and we went looking with this guy all day Saturday, up and down I-95 – nothing. Finally he said “well, I have three houses in Fredericksburg (30 miles from my duty station) that we can look at if you want. He and my mother were chatting away in the front seat and all of a sudden I blurted out “I am NOT moving twice” (that was our remaining option – to move someplace temporary until the new house was cleared or fixed or whatever it had to be – then I would move into that house – I knew I didn’t want that). After he and my mom got done looking shocked, we headed off to Fredericksburg.

We looked at the first two houses and they weren’t what I was interested in. So it was down to the very last house he knew of. So off we went.

This house was absolutely perfect – it was missing only one thing and I could get that taken care of easily (a fence for my dogs). It was a model so it had all the utilities hooked up. I could move in the next day because it was a model. It was the size I wanted (gigantic) and had an enormous back yard for my doggies. I walked in and said “I’ll take it”.  We signed, closed and everything was fine. My furniture was rerouted and made it there without any problems.

This happened because I put FEELING into my statement about “I’m not moving twice”. And let me tell you, there was feeling.

Feeling creates a vibrational tone in you and that is what affects the universe, not your words.

So concentrate on feeling good emotions and good feelings. When things don’t seem to be going right, check out how you’re feeling.

Til I see you on the webinar!

Diana is going to try it again!

For those of you who read this blog regularly, you’ll know that I so admire Diana Nyad in her august attempt to swim from Cuba to Florida. She had three bouts of bad luck that caused her to have to abort the swim after 30 hours (and she thought that was a failure????):

1) an asthma attack lasting 11 hours – can you imagine swimming for 11 hours without being able to breathe? (I can’t imagine swimming 11 hours without an asthma attack)

2) sudden onset of pain in one shoulder that she never had before either

And

3) being besieged by jellyfish

But she didn’t quit working toward her goal!

She’s going to try again tonight – anticipated to be a 60 hour swim – just amazing!

Keep her in your thoughts and prayers please.

Did I mention that she just turned 62?

How To Turn A Lousy Day Into A Much Better One

Have you had those days where nothing seems to go right and you’re sure it’s a full moon? We all have experienced those days. Two things can happen. You can continue in the downward spiral toward a really, really bad day. Another option would be to make the most of what has happened and improve the day. Make that your mantra “Improve the Day” – we’ve all heard “seize the day”. We want to change it to improve our own day..and our life.

The primary reason you want to do this is so that you’ll not perpetuate the bad. You know that the Law of Attraction says “like attracts like”. You do not want the bad you’re dwelling on (as we all do) to attract more bad. You want to nip it in the bud and turn your day – and your life – around.

What’s the best way to deal with all that has happened on this day from you know where? Begin by declaring it good. Simply say “I declare it good. I see the good coming out of it and know that it will enrich my life more than I ever could have expected.” You can use any other affirmation that makes you feel good and tack it on to the end of “I declare it good and see the good coming out of this day”.

You want to do this with everything that happens in your life, no matter how small and no matter how bad things may seem. Don’t worry that you feel hypocritical or that you will be struck down for lying. If you say it often enough and with enough emotion, your subconscious mind will definitely believe it. Then, after you’ve had experiences like this several times, you won’t have to even think that you are trying to persuade your subconscious. By that time, you and it will have seen the good and know that that is the best way to deal with negative things.

What do you do if nothing good happens? First, you don’t say “see I knew it wasn’t going to work”. The reason for that is because you do not have any idea what timeline the Universe is on to bring you the good. Also, the good may be relative. I have a perfect example. When I was working in D.C. I lived 60 miles south of Washington, D.C. and had to travel on Interstate 95 which has horrible traffic. One day we had a sudden snow storm and I kept asking my boss if I could leave early to avoid the mess that was bound to occur in that storm. He wouldn’t let me go because we were in a meeting. I was upset. Then I remembered what I should do and kept saying “I declare it good and see the good coming out of it”. Of course there was doubt inside of me when it took me 8 hours to get home that day. But I kept saying “I declare it good”. And you know what? There had been a 100 car accident on the interstate (the reason for the long commute – no one could travel on the Interstate). If I had left when I wanted, there was a strong probability that I would have either been in that pile-up or stuck immediately behind it and been stranded in the cold for a much longer period of time. See how the “good” was relative. Yes, it took me 8 hours to get home but I got home safely and might not have had I left when I wanted.

The other thing you can do instead of sitting there trying to identify the good is to simply forget it and know that the Universe will actually bring you good. Because it will whether you ever see it or not. If you look back over your life, I imagine you’ll be able to see times when things happened that you couldn’t figure out but then you looked at the entire situation and had gratitude that things turned out the way they did. This could be regarding a relationship, a job, an event, or just about anything. Declare it good and it will be good.

This is just one of the hints discussed in The Art of Making Things Happen. Changing your life is within your power. You are not a victim and you are the one in control. You simply need to do some inner work to find out what has been holding you back. Then you can change it. Check out more about this self-study course at The Art of Making Things Happen.

Did You Know You Can Change Your Beliefs…And Change Your Life?

Did you know you can choose your beliefs? Your beliefs are just thoughts, standards or ideas that others have embedded in your subconscious mind so frequently that you came to believe them. You can change these thoughts. You can eliminate the ones you no longer choose to believe. Then you can replace those thoughts with beliefs you decide you want to adopt. Let’s talk about these things.

Your parents constantly told you things. Most were well intentioned and in an attempt to guide you through life in the way they thought was proper or to protect you. However, not all of their ideas are accurate nor did all of them serve you well. For example, I was always told I was no good with money. So guess what happened? Yep, that’s right. I grew up not really knowing how to manage my finances. I’m sure you’ve heard about the experiment where one teacher tells a group of poorly performing students how smart they are and that they are the best in the school etc. And lo and behold, they became the best and the smartest. The teacher believed in them and then they came to believe in themselves.  It’s all about what you believe.

Write down the first memory you have of a belief that you want to eliminate. You know the kind of beliefs I’m talking about. These are the things like, “You’re not good with money,” or, “If you didn’t go to college you won’t make money,” or, “You don’t have the personality for it,” or, “You don’t know enough. You’re not smart enough.” Write down any of those things and if possible when was the first time you heard it and who said it. Once you figure out who said it and where it came from, then the first thing you need to say is, “Why am I giving them the authority to make my life miserable and make me feel want, lack and limitation? Why am I today allowing something that heard 30 years ago to influence what I’m doing today?” That’s what you’re doing.

If somebody told you long ago, “Count your change. People want to cheat you,” then you’ll set yourself up to be cheated. Don’t believe that from somebody else. You say, “I am honest, therefore I only attract honest people to me. I will not accept what my great grandmother said about people and their honesty.”

Spend about 15 minutes every day listing beliefs that you now know you’ve had and do the same thing with them. These are not beliefs that you choose today. These things are so very important. The only way to get rid of them is to look at them and ask, “Why do I think that they knew?”

Keep these things in your journal. Review them frequently and most importantly keep the list of these beliefs updated. You’ll find more and more as you peel back the layers of that onion. If you want to find out more about how to continue replacing your beliefs why don’t you check out The Art of Making Things Happen

The law of Attraction Works Even If You Don’t Believe It

The Law of Attraction  is always working regardless of your current results. The results you’ve been getting are related to your beliefs (past and present), your current thoughts and the words you use every day.  I’ll go into more detail on each of these here.

Whether you know it or not, you are governed by the beliefs that have been ingrained in you since you were born (some people even believe these beliefs begin to be embedded while you’re in utero). These beliefs come from many sources – your parents, siblings, teachers, clergy, colleagues, doctors, dentists and even news media! Especially when you’re young you believe what your parents tell you. I know that I actually believed what my brother said to me more than what anyone else told me. And I still have most of those beliefs within me to this day. You just don’t know what it is that is influencing your thoughts and actions.  But believe me, they are influencing you. Until you identify what it is that’s governing your actions and results, you won’t be able to change your outcome and you’ll continue to be stuck.

Your brain is constantly working and all your thoughts are bouncing back and forth within your mind all the time. All of these thoughts also govern your results. If you’re thinking “I hate my job, I hate my job, my boss doesn’t like me, my hours stink etc.” what do you think is going to happen? I will guarantee that your situation at work will not improve and in fact it might actually worsen.  Often what’s worse is when your thoughts bounce around. So, let’s say you’re trying to work with the Law of Attraction and receive greater good in your life. If when things are calm and cool you’re able to continually think “everything in my life is wonderful and I am blessed” but when you get to work or become stressed out, you revert to “I hate my job, my boss doesn’t like me”, then the Universe doesn’t really know what it is you want and as soon as it starts to bring one thing to you, you’ve changed your thoughts and so the Universe bounces back to bringing you the opposite. Can you see how you have to be consistent and attentive or you’ll simply stay in the same place you’ve been all along.

As important as your beliefs and thoughts are your words. You must pay attention to what comes out of your mouth and what those words specifically mean. What if you say “I can’t afford to go out with you tonight because I’m really tired”. Your subconscious hears “can’t afford” and because of your upbringing (and beliefs), it interprets that in financial terms. So, your subconscious mind will keep you from gaining greater wealth. If you say “that makes me sick” – it’s a good probability that you’ll have problems with illness. How about “I’m fed up” – do you have problems with your weight, perhaps? See how your words affect you.

As you can see, what’s going on today in your life is related to your beliefs, your thoughts and your words. Once you realize these and delve even deeper into this, you’ll be able to control your results by getting rid of limiting beliefs, controlling your thoughts and words. This may seem difficult but it really isn’t. It’s a matter of focus and attention. You can do this.
