Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Momentum really is the most important aspect of deliberate creation that you could consciously contemplate. Because what momentum says is: Once you get going in that direction, it is more likely that you will continue in that direction.” ~Abraham  Excerpted from: Orlando, FL on January 11, 2014

This Abraham quote follows quit nicely with yesterday’s post. Remember how I mentioned that the more you worry, the more pain you’ll experience as well as the more worried you’ll become. This is all about  momentum. When you are at the top of a hill and push and push against a boulder, it’s hard to get that thing moving. But once you get it going down the hill, the momentum keeps it going down the hill and it’s nearly impossible to stop it due to the force it accumulates. The same goes with worry. Once that worry has started down the hill it keeps gaining more and more momentum. You worry more and more and as a result, the Universe brings you what you’re focusing on – more worry (or pain or whatever thing you’ve given momentum to).

See if, instead, you can get the momentum started in a positive way. Declare things good. Just know that they will be good – they will eventually demonstrate that they were the right things to happen in your life.

The minute you start to think something is bad or not so good, stop pushing that boulder, stand back and think how you can turn your thoughts and feelings around!

Have a great week!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“As you look for a better-feeling way to approach whatever you are giving your attention to; as you continue to ask yourself from your ever-changing vantage point, “What is it that I do want?”… Eventually you will be standing in a very pleasing place—for you cannot continually ask yourself what it is that you do want without your point of attraction beginning to pivot in that direction. The process will be gradual, but your continued application of the process will yield wonderful results in only a few days.”  ~Abraham   Excerpted from: Money and the Law of Attraction on August 31, 2008

This quote from Abraham is a good one for you to remember to focus on what you do want. It’s the contrast vs clarity concept. If you’re not feeling well, ask yourself what you DO want. Believe it or not, some people do not necessarily want to get better. There are advantages for them to say unwell. But the majority of people do want to be better.

  1. Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle.  On the left hand column put the word “contrast” and on the other column label it “clarity”.
  2. Write down the things you’re not happy with on the left hand side (contrast). Just list them for now.
  3. Once you’re finished with listing the items under the Contrast side, you can dig deeper and list why you aren’t happy with them. What are they keeping you from doing or feeling.
  4. Now that you’ve dug a bit deeper, move over to the “Clarity” side. Here’s where you will have to take some time.
  5. Ask yourself what you want instead of the item on the left hand side
    • Why do you want that (“so that I can……”)
    • What will be different in your life if you have what you do want.

***This may not be as easy as it appears. There are feelings and desires in this process. You really are going to examine why         you want what you say you want. You may surprise yourself.

After you have listed the things you want on the right hand side you’ll be able to make your affirmations and know what it is you want to concentrate on. This fits quite well with your script for the new year. If there is something in your script that you’ve now realized you need to change, go change your script. This is a valuable part of the creation of your new year, new life.

Try these steps. When you focus on what you do want, your vibration increases and you’ll be able to tell the Universe what to work on for you.

Remember, the “better feeling way” too.. This means try to move up on the emotional scale. For example, anger is higher on the emotional scale than depression.  It’s not what one would think of when you say “better” feeling but it really is. Anger involves movement of energy inside you whereas depression doesn’t. So, when you’re angry, you can then work on moving up to another level even if you do so slowly. Always try to do something that feels better, no matter how slight.

dont find fault

Use this short quote to guide your week this week. Whenever you start to complain or think that something wouldn’t have happened had Joe Blow done this or not done that or if this circumstance hadn’t happened, etc, immediately think of this quote. Switch your thinking around. Either stop the chain of thinking totally and recognize that “things happen” and no one is necessarily at fault or you can use the “I declare it good” affirmation and even add to it “I declare it good and see the remedy” right now!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1 “Cherish your human connections: your relationships with friends and family.” ~ Joseph Brodsky

What a great thought for this time of year! But it’s an even better thought for, let’s say May 7th or maybe even August 12th. The point being – it’s what we should do every day of the year.

Do you realize that our human connections are really all we have. Why do you think they have such as punishment as “solitary confinement”? If we didn’t need human connection to thrive then “solitary confinement” wouldn’t be that big a deal, would it?

Every single day make sure you do something special with someone human. You can’t hug your computer or your cell phone – although if you watch people while you’re out you’d think that people were married to their phones. When you’re out, try to make eye contact with people, not “ear contact” with your phone. It never surprises me that we see episodes of violence against people because the electronic dependency has successfully kept us from having to interact with people.

What can you do that shows you cherish your relationship with your friends and family. Can you call them? Can you write a card? Even an email – just say “hi, thinking of you” or something that shows you care.

The more love you give out, the more you’ll have to be grateful for and the more you’re grateful, the more you’ll receive from the Universe. So it’s a win-win situation for everyone!

Celebrate but do it with other humans!!!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” ~Charles R. Swindoll

What does this statement mean to you? What feeling hit you when you first read it? Was it like a kick in the stomach? Did it feel like “wow, this is me. I react really well all the time no matter what happens”?

Do any of you remember Play Doh? Maybe they still have it, I don’t know. But it was a flexible clay that you could mold into various shapes and then change that shape again and again. If I remember correctly, though, if you left it out to dry then it would dry and you couldn’t reshape it.
You need to be like Play Doh – no matter what happens, it’s your reaction and your response – your vibrational response to it that matters.  Can you try to remember this quote the next time something happens that isn’t exactly what you planned?
How are you going to behave both internally and externally? You surely can take a few moments to step back and think about how you feel and how it’s hit you. But don’t take long at that step.  Don’t let your vibration spin downward for long. Try to get your momentum back on the upswing. The shorter time you’re on the downswing, the easier it is to keep your vibration going steady or even on an upward path.
Ask yourself a few questions. What does this event or these circumstances mean to me? What activities do I have to change in my life? Even if these activities were very important to me, they do not define me, so how am I really defined? What can I do now? How am I defined? How do I want to be defined? Is this a temporary or permanent setback? What am I feeling right now? What do I want to be feeling? What can I make of my life now that I have to take another path – the woods are full of paths. What’s down this one? Most importantly, what can I give to other people despite my new circumstances?
Keep thinking of and asking yourself these questions. They will lead to a new sense of happiness. The Universe has a great way of leading us to where we’re supposed to be if we allow it and don’t get in its way with negative thoughts.
What’s going on in your life right now? What path have you been going down? What path do you want to go down? What can you do about it? If you can’t do anything, then find another path.
Keep us posted.
