You Can Take It With You – Your Treasure Map, That Is…

I’m sure you know what a treasure map (or vision board, vision map) is if you’re reading this. Previously I knew of two ways to make your treasure map other than using my computer program to do so. But today I’m going to tell you about another method that makes your treasure map portable. I have to give credit to a friend of mine who mentioned that she did this and I thought it was an outstanding idea. So, I want to share it with you. Who says you can’t take it with you?

You can use a treasure map to implant visual impressions on your subconscious mind for things you want to have or achieve. When you look at the map or board repeatedly, your subconscious sees the items on the map as yours. Then it sets about bringing them into your life. It’s a very effective method of manifesting what you want in life. Of course, you should use it in combination with all the other techniques and you must take action. You cannot sit there and look at a treasure map all day long and never look at any other aspect of your life and belief system and then expect everything to come to you. The Universe loves action and you must obey that. You can’t get anything by just sitting around.

To make an effective treasure map you don’t want to have it crowded and you want to scrutinize the pictures and the words you use. For example, one woman was looking for a spouse and she had a great photo on her treasure map. The teacher said, have you had a lot of alcoholics in your life and the woman was astounded. She said “yes, why?” and the teacher asked her to look at the picture she had put on the map. It was a handsome man holding a drink. So the woman thought she’d fix that by cutting off the drink on the picture. The teacher again said “do you want someone with an amputated hand”. The woman finally got the point and found an appropriate picture.

You also want to make sure your words are positive and in the present tense. They can be phrases or single words as long as they convey the actual meaning of what you’re looking for. This is a great place to use superlatives.

To make your treasure map portable, use index cards. Find pictures in magazines or print them out and paste or tape them to the index card. You can put phrases on top if you want but the picture may even be enough.

Then you put several of them together and put them in your purse or pocket (they even make cases for index cards now) and carry them with you. You can pull them out throughout the day and look at them. You can just flip through them or you can focus on one in particular.

When you have received or achieved whatever is on one of them, throw that one away and continue with the others or replace it with a new one. If things don’t seem to be happening AND you’re working on your belief systems with denials and affirmations, then try a new image or new words. Look at the current image and see what it’s telling you. It may be giving you the wrong message and maybe it’s not even something you really want. You need to continuously revise your wants and desires.
