“Let Go and Let God??”

So many metaphysical teachers tell you to “let go and let God”. Other state that you need to “detach from your goal in order to have it”. How do you do this?

These two phrases are to be used at two different times and not for the same situations.

“Let go and let God” is when we are having worries. It serves to take your mind of the problem so the problem can work itself out. (Remember I always suggest using the word “problem” and not “challenge” as many metaphysicians do.) The reason is that every problem has a solution and the word challenge indicates a winner and the rest are losers. Also, challenge has a perception of struggle and/or difficulty, Problems, when you know the correct formula, are simple to solve. Accept that you have the formula which is: asking, visualizing, accepting and giving thanks.

The phrase “detach from your goal” means to expect results but without worrying about how its coming to you. I suggest that as soon as you have asked, begin to say, “thank you that my result is already on its way to me”. That helps to build your faith in your own affirmations.

Hope this helps some!

We Live By Choice

Q. How is earthly life conceived in New Thought? Is it a learning  experience for the individual?

A. Planet Earth is like a school. Some people are in kindergarten and others are in college. I believe the law of attraction pulls the soul into a similar grade family. This provides an opportunity for change. Change comes from making different decisions than the individual family members have made. Periodically the soul will create opportunities to prove he or she is ready for the next higher grade. We can either learn by our mistakes, or, we can keep making the same mistakes over. We live by choice.

Thanks again, Anne!

The practice of New Thought benefits you

Q How does study and practice of New Thought Principles benefit a person?

A. The first step that occurs is your attitude changes to greater happiness and determination to find a way of life that is better for you. That means change. It also means that in that change you make decisions for what you want instead of accepting what you have been told you can have. It means selecting improved health, greater financial supply, harmony in your relationships, and I think the greatest for me was “peace of mind.” It also means new happy, harmonious friends coming into your life  and people who complain, argue and whine start moving out. These things are worth their weight in gold.

How To Explain Metaphysics Quickly

Here’s the answer to our first question:

Q.How can I quickly describe what metaphysics is when I'm
talking to other folks?

A. When people ask about metaphysics they are usually completely unfamiliar with New Thought or with any of the things we study and usually assume that everyone else is familiar with them. It is best not to confuse them with too much information., I say first “It is a branch of Philosophy that deals with the study of the non-physical as in the study of thought and its effects on each one of us.” That is usually enough for most people. If they are interested enough or understanding enough to want more information then I explain more. Keeping it simple and saying “we believe that our thoughts and feelings are creative and we create what we think about and what we believe. Therefore, we learn to think about what we want to have in our lives. We stop worrying and we stop complaining. As we begin to think about happy events our lives change for the better. If they want more than that, recommend a good book such as one by Emmet Fox, Joseph Murphy or another of your favorites.
