Lisa Marie Keller on Chronic Fatigue and Exhaustion..and what you can do about it!

lisa marie kellerI had the pleasure of interviewing Lisa Marie Keller  and  was so excited to talk with her about her personal achievement in overcoming chronic fatigue and exhaustion (since the age of 14) and to listen to the various modalities she uses with people to guide them in their own accomplishments. It’s just another example of how the Law of Attraction works. Everything she talked about, except for one thing, I have have heard of and completely embrace – even from a medical standpoint! That’s amazing.

I encourage anyone who’s experiencing problems with chronic fatigue and exhaustion (or if you know someone who is) to listen to this interview and get a glimpse of how Lisa can help you.

She takes a very personal approach and works with people on an individual basis, tailoring plans and programs to your own needs – there is no “one fix for everything” as we medical folks frequently do – we try to fit everything into one box and if it doesn’t fit, then we don’t know what to do. But Lisa knows what to do. She is the perfect example of what I like to call Integrative Medicine – a combination of traditional and alternative medicine (to me, medicine is medicine and there really isn’t an alternative – what matters is what works without causing further harm).

She is truly amazing because she has many certifications and that knowledge is all incorporated into her plans for folks – most people who have these certifications specialize so that you have to find many providers (I’m talking about things like EFT, body work etc, not medical providers) but Lisa has leading edge certifications and is willing to work with you using all of them – whatever is right for you at the moment. She’s able to adjust as you adjust. Her own personal experience has helped her weed out what doesn’t work and concentrate on what does.

This was one of the very best interviews I’ve ever done and I highly recommend you listen and then visit Lisa’s website to see more about her programs!

Don’t Watch Your Life Pass You By

Are you trying to get somewhere in life? Would you like to change your direction and go where YOU want to go? I know I want to be in control of where I’m going and what I’m doing in life. I imagine you are like that too. But, perhaps you’ve tried so many times before and you just feel as if you’re stuck on the busy highway that life has you on and you just can’t get off that highway or even make a turn down another street.

Perhaps you’ve seen “The Secret” and “tried” it for awhile. But “it” didn’t work.

I’m not sure what you think didn’t work but usually it’s people thinking that the Law of Attraction didn’t work.  I have breaking news for you though. The Law of Attraction is just that – it’s a Law – it’s always working. The Laws of the Universe are not like the human laws we have (and break constantly thinking they are there for other people or for when you have more time). Think about the Law of Gravity for example – can you ever think of a time where you told something you let go out of your hand not to drop to the floor – and had it work? You may wish as you see things falling that it wasn’t doing that but inevitably we see the object on the floor (or counter or wherever it landed). No matter what you do, the Law of Gravity works. Half the time we don’t pay attention to the fact that it’s a Law and we don’t think about whether it’s working or not. We KNOW it’s working so we’re careful about holding onto things so they don’t drop.

Why do you think the Law of Attraction is different? Because we didn’t learn about it in school or in Physics or some other class when we were growing up? Why? Because we don’t want to admit that we have attracted ALL situations we’ve experienced in our lives? That’s kind of uncomfortable for us now. But what if we had been taught this as children? Perhaps we would have been able to learn to work with the Law and it would not seem so foreign now as adults. If you have children, consider exposing them to this Law and how it works while they are young – they will embrace it alot more too.

Why is it so hard to understand and believe in the Law of Attraction? I think it’s because we do not want to acknowledge and admit that we’ve created many of the situations and events that have developed in our lives. It’s much easier to just go on and say that it was “fate” or “it was meant to be” or it was “because…… (and you can fill in the blanks)”.  If something bad has happened, it’s very hard to tell the world that we brought that horrible thing into our lives. Who wants to brag about that…welll perhaps those who are into “drama” and “pity parties” – but they don’t even realize that they are looking for people to attend their pity party and they want the best entertainment of all – “my story is worse than your story. You can’t top what’s happened to me” – do you know anyone like that. How can you have a pity party if you’ve created terrific things in your life? You can’t. So you draw in the bad things so you can hold your party and celebrate and say “see, I just have this black cloud over my head.” Does this ring any bells?

Many people want to own up to and acknowledge the good things and take credit for bringing the good things into our lives but you know what? If you’re willing to accept that you created the great things in your life, you HAVE to accept (and admit) that you brought the  other things into your life – those not so good things – the things you don’t want to brag about.  You can’t have one without the other.

Bottom line – you attract what you focus on.

Take a minute and think about what you are concentrating on the most during your day. Then identify the emotions associated with those thoughts. It’s the emotions that are key to everything! You must be in vibrational sync with the things you want.

You can’t be saying “I am a millionaire” and expect it to work when

  • Most of the rest of the time you’re worried about (or thinking about) paying the bills
  • You can’t even conceive of having a million dollars because you only make $30,000 a year now
  • You have a belief that “Rich people are not trustworthy or are greedy or are snobs etc” – what are your beliefs about rich people or about millionaires.

So we have a few issues here that get in the way of creating the life we want:

  • What you’re focused on all the time – we have to pay attention to this and get vibrationally (and emotionally) into the space of thinking about what you really want
  • What you can conceive of – similar to what you’re focused on
  • Your beliefs are getting in the way and you don’t even know about it

It’s easier to work through the emotions and the feelings part of focusing than it is to get at all the beliefs we have that are buried and need to be cleared before we move along and plant/nurture the empowering beliefs.

Your beliefs are like your computer’s operating system and they make you tick without any conscious effort. Right now pay attention to your breathing – it’s weird isn’t it? You breathe all the time without conscious effort -even when you’re exerting yourself your breathing increases as your body needs it to, not because you’ve decided to breathe faster or harder. Same goes with your heart beating – if your heart had to wait for you to consciously tell it to beat, you’d be in deep trouble. That’s kind of like the Law of Attraction. It’s working whether you know it or not. I don’t know if you have ever been exposed to biofeedback or not but that is a technique that enables you to control your basic body system functions – breathing, heart rate, blood pressure. It takes a lot of effort and conscious effort at that. But you can work with your body functions just like you can work with the Law of Attractions.

I want to keep focusing on limiting beliefs and transforming them into empowering beliefs. So hang in there with me and we’ll do the work as we go along.  The first task will be to identify those beliefs and decide whether you want to continue to believe them.

Are You Just A Spectator In Your Own Game of Life?

iStock_000013428675XSmallNow that my 30 days of Inspiration is over (or is it “are over”? Oh well), ask yourself where you fit in all this talk of inspiration, courage and determination. Are you just a spectator in your own game of life? Or are you on the playing field – actively participating and making things happen – influencing your own outcome?

If you are just a spectator AND don’t want to be (sometimes it’s ok to watch and learn but most of the time we want to be an active part of what’s happening in our lives), then we need to look at the beliefs AND the emotions behind why you’re just spectating and NOT making things happen.

I know for me it was hard to grasp the concept of beliefs and that’s what I’ve run across with other folks too. But once I did, man did it make a big difference. Then, when I coupled it with the idea of how much emotions guide where we’re going (and where we’ve been), it almost feels like a no-win situation. Until you realize that you can change all of that. You do have control over both your emotions and your beliefs. If you’re thinking that that’s not true, then guess what? You have what we call “limiting beliefs” – things that are holding you back and keeping you from achieving everything you ever wanted.

I’m going to be talking about limiting beliefs and transforming them into empowering beliefs over the next month or maybe more depending on where we all go from here. My goal is to show you how to empower yourself, how to identify where you’re holding yourself back and then, most importantly, what to do about it.

Remember that if you’re on this site, there’s a fantastic chance you understand or at least know about the Law of Attraction. Bottom line – we create our own reality whether we do it consciously or not. You can’t just take credit for the good things in your life that you “intentionally” manifested. You have to take responsibility for EVERYTHING in your life because you brought it all in there.

“Me?” you mutter. “Why on earth would I want to create this bankruptcy or this divorce? You’re out of your mind if you think I did that on purpose”.

No one is saying “on purpose” because that implies a definite intention and unfortunately if we had learned about our intentions (and how powerful they can be) a long time ago, we probably wouldn’t be in this boat right now. But we attract what we are in vibrational synch with (bad grammar or not it’s true). So, if you grew up in an era or a family that had financial problems or was always talking about not having enough or being in debt or “how are we going to pay these bills” (which equals lack), this is what your body began to vibrate with because that’s all you knew. So you now have this long-ago engrained thought/feeling/emotion/belief that you don’t and can’t have enough.

Remember that a belief is just a thought you keep thinking over and over again.

Beliefs are generally divided into (or categorized into) limiting and empowering beliefs. Which would you rather have – a belief that holds you back or a belief that lets you know that you CAN actually have everything you’ve ever wanted?

I know the answer for me – I want everything I’ve ever wanted. And you know what? I CAN have it…and so can you. We just need to work on identifying and transforming those limiting beliefs! And that’s what we’ll do over the next 30 plus days.

Start writing down what you believe in….or what you think you can have and what you think you can’t have…stay tuned for more

Honoring Dr. Anne Kunath – Day #30 – Honor Someone Who Has Inspired You

400170_2998765092059_45758064_nIt’s amazing. We are at the end of the 30 days honoring people who inspired me! If you’ve been following along I hope you have thought about what personally inspires you – what are those qualities that you respect and admire and would like to incorporate into your life. You may not want to do the exact same thing as someone (for example, I do not have a desire to swim from Cuba to Florida as Diana Nyad went after). But I certainly would love to cultivate that dogged determination and work ethic required to train for and endure the hardships encountered along the way of life. She personifies what I’d like to be – never wavering, never failing, never giving up, etc. That is what you want to look at when you feel someone has inspired you. Write down their wonderful qualities and make your “admiration” list and see how you can integrate them into your own personal life.

Well – I saved the best for last. Today’s “Inspiree” is Dr. Anne Kunath – founder of the Church of Today and assistant to Catherine Ponder (first lady of New Thought). But that description is nothing – empty sounding. Dr. Kunath walks the talk as they say. She has taught New Thought concepts (metaphysics) for decades before “The Secret” came out and brought the Law of Attraction to everyone’s attention. She was raising awareness of how the Universe works since the 1970’s. She is persistent, charismatic and brilliant!

I met Dr. Kunath “by accident” in 1985 when I went to a class at her “weird” church simply to have something to do (I had just been “dumped” from a relationship and the woman I hung out with was going to this “metaphysics” class – I had no idea what the heck “metaphysics” was – I only knew I didn’t want to be alone that night). That was the night that changed my life forever. I sat there in the audience as Dr. Kunath explained the concepts and although I didn’t understand all of them, things were clicking inside of me – “this sounds like what I’ve believed for so long but never knew anyone else thought the same way”. We got to talk to her after class and bombarded her with question after question. I came back on Sunday…and the following Wednesday and on and on and I was a regular. I even had the pleasure and opportunity to go to an International New Thought Alliance Annual conference in Calgary, Canada and I have to say it was the best and most rewarding conference I’ve ever attended. After that, Dr. Kunath allowed me to become intimately involve in the church and I began my life outside of medicine and the military. That may sound funny but it really was the first time I’d had anything to do that wasn’t related to either medicine or the military. It really 36728_1504630939639_3592611_ndoes take getting used to but I adapted pretty quickly and she gave me so many opportunities to lead others as I learned more and more about New Thought. I was definitely addicted.

Then, as things go in the military, I was transferred to the East Coast. And although we stayed in touch, I missed her teachings (in those days they didn’t even have the internet and so I couldn’t get any “e-learning”. Many years went by and to make a very long story as short as possible, the Universe brought me this opportunity to get a job in San Antonio – I’ve told that story many times so I won’t repeat it here but others would say it was a miracle for certain. I say that it was the Law of Attraction in its purest form. I ended up back here in San Antonio and after another “accident” I learned about teleseminars and Dr. Kunath and I began Getting Unstuck, LLC and Everyday New Thought Membership center.  What a great 7 years it’s been and although I now am officially on my own because she has taken a well-deserved retirement,  Dr. Kunath is in my soul and mind and a part of my every day existence.

She has the patience of a Saint (even though she doesn’t think she does) but more importantly, she has the ability to captivate you with stories and possibilities for your life. She’s a member of Mensa which you could figure out after one conversation with her  but she’s not egotistical or egocentric. As I said, she really does practice what she preaches. She applies the principles of the Universal Laws in everything she does.

She has a persistent determination and whatever she tries she achieves. She is just a truly amazing person and I am so honored to have met her, worked with her and be her friend. Anne – you are phenomenal and I just adore and respect you more than you can possibly imagine. I also know that there are a ton of people out there who feel the same as I do.

Thank you for everything you have given me, been to me and exemplified in your life. You are truly my hero!

Honoring Albert M. Conerly (and other Bataan Death March survivors) – Day #29 – Honor Someone Who Has Inspired You

IMG_0349 1 day to go! And tomorrow’s inspiree is the most special of all 30 so stay tuned for that one.  But today is for Mr. Albert M Conerly (and all other prisoners of war, especially those who endured the Bataan Death March (April 1942). Lest we ever forget what our Soldiers & Marines endured in the name of freedom and the “American Way” – like so many other atrocities in our history, we cannot forget what these young men went through.

I happen to know Mr. Conerly’s nephew and I’m so proud of him having just completed the memorial Bataan Death March marathon. But as he said, that was nothing compared to what these men had to go through – 10 days of marching without food and water. At what price, freedom? Ask yourself this question when you’re thinking about complaining about anything today (try to remember it no matter when you start to “complain” but at least do it today).

The POWs (Prisoners of War) that lived through the wars are such an inspiration for their fortitude and determination. Sure you could say it’s “just” survival of the fittest – but you know what – they could have given up and died like so many did.pow1 But these men suffered at the hands of the enemy day after day, hour after hour. And they had the courage to continue to live and fight back – even if it was only internally. They were skin and boned, ravaged with illness and injury – yet day after day they clung to life. Could you do that? I don’t think I could so my level of respect goes up even more knowing that they were able to do things I could never even fathom. They are the true heroes of our life. They are the reason we’re free to do what we want. We complain because we don’t have this or that but what did they have – not a darn thing – perhaps just memories of family and loved ones. Some fierce desire to continue living. There had to be something significant for them to hold on to, helping them get through that time.

Can you imagine marching in the sand and mountains without food or drink for 1 day, to say nothing of 10 days. They helped each other get through it I’m sure. There is such a sense of “family” amongst the military (one of the things I miss the most) that they helped each other make it. You know, I can’t even begin to describe what it must have been like. Remember that this 10 day trek was not just down the street or in some National Park – i20130317_151043t was in a foreign country and they were at war. So they didn’t know what lay ahead of them at all. Imagine the fear and anxiety they experienced. But they continued on. Remember that when things aren’t going “your way”. When things appear “rough” – ask yourself – “are they really that bad or can I accept them and let the good come out of them. What would those Soldiers and Marines do in my shoes?” Ask yourself that and see if your attitude and action don’t change. I bet they will.

Remember these brave souls and all they went through – for us! I certainly cannot do any justice to them with this short post but wanted to let them know that I am proud of them and more importantly, very grateful for all they went through for my family and my future! Thank you all! And Tom I’m so proud of your completion of the event Sunday. You Rock!

Terrie
