7 Aspects – What Are You Giving Life to?

What are you giving life to? Are you giving life to misery? Are you giving life to poor health? Are you giving life to struggle? Are you worried about it? Are you concerned about it?

Can you put those things aside to develop the attitude, “I give life to health. I give life to wholeness. I give life to peace of mind”? You are at the point of making a choice. You have come out of the dark ages into the possibility and potential of making your life what you want it to be.

Many of us were raised in traditions of fear, pain and punishment. We were told, “God’s going to get us one way or the other.” That’s the Old Testament. The New Testament doesn’t say that. We want to move into the New Testament of light, life and creation.

7 Aspects – Life (continued)

One of the things taught in New Thought, which I disagree with, is that you can’t change another person. I don’t believe that. The way we change another person is by beginning to see them in another way.

This is why we’re so strong on words. People come in for prayer work. The religious science says “treatment.” Unity says just “prayer.” My word for it is “prayer therapy.” It is taking something you know and being willing to make a change. If you’re willing to make a change in your world, you have to begin to see it in a different way.

7 Aspects – Life (continued)

The closest word for “God” Dr. Lamsa (expert in Aramaic Bible) could come up with was “essence.” When I think of essence, I think of somebody who has perfume on. You can smell the perfume, but you can’t see or feel it. It’s just there. This is what spirit is. It’s all around us.

It’s been described this way. If fish knew that they were in water, they might drown. They’re supposed to drown if their heads are underwater like that. If we could see in air like the fish in water, we would know that this energy all around us is the essence of the life force that flows in, through and all around us. It creates according to our belief systems.

One of the Catherine Ponder books says, “Substance is passive.” This divine substance around us, this energy form, is passive. It moves upon a person’s thoughts, words and actions. If you are not in charge of your life, setting your own goals and creating your own reality, somebody else will create it for you.

7 Aspects – Life (continued)

From proverbs, “My words are life unto those who find them and health to all their flesh.” All of this is about what we are giving life to. A sound heart is the life of the flesh.

“In Him was light,” talking about Jesus, “and the life was the light of men.” This is one of my favorites. “I am come that they might have life, and they have it more abundantly.”

It is this whole attitude and feeling of the man called Jesus who came to Earth to transform the Old Testament, which was punishment, history, cause and effect, karma, and thousands of years of believing, “We have to be punished for everything we did earlier.”

Our new ideas, life force and thoughts are based on love. The more loving we become, the greater our lives become. What does this mean?

Emmet Fox was strong in his belief of the creative image that we make for ourselves. His ideas and thoughts were, “What can we do this day to create a better life for ourselves?”

7 Main Aspects of God – Life

The 7 Main Aspects of God by Emmet Fox is one of the Divine Science books. It starts off at the beginning of life.

“Since spirit is the only life, all life is perfect and harmonious. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. There is but one life. Therefore my life is a perfect life.”

That’s pretty deep stuff. You think to yourself, “Is my life really perfect? I want a lot of different things. I want to change a lot of things.”

Your soul was created in the image and likeness of the divine. It is a spiritual essence. That spiritual essence is perfection. We have spent lifetimes trying to understand that what we believe is what is happening in our life. Who we are is what is happening in our life. What is happening is our life is according to our thoughts, words and ideas.

Let’s go back to Emmet Fox. He created that little booklet, The Seven Main Aspects of God, which is also in one of his bigger books. The Seven Main Aspects of God has seven qualities in it. I read this book at least once every six months. It is preventive and corrective.

Anything in your life can be transformed in the quickest possible time by using one of those aspects. The first one is life. If you don’t have enough money in your life, that’s lack. How do you change lack to prosperity? You put life into your bank account. You put life into your wallet. You put life into your work. You put life into everything.
