FAQ – I got things I didn't ask for – uh oh!

Here’s another question from our subscribers. Remember, if you have questions give ‘em to us here.

Q. I’ve gotten several things I wished I hadn’t asked for. How do I eliminate them now.

A. A good example of “be careful what you ask for, because you’re going to get it”. I’ve done that a few times myself before I learned to examine how I would be and feel if I got what I thought I wanted.

One time I asked for greater income and got a lot more work. That was not what I intended.

I was teaching a Treasure Mapping Class and had the students bring in their maps for me to check before they began to concentrate on them. One map had a man in the middle, on a ship and holding a drink in his hand. I knew her first husband had been an alcoholic and told her she needed another picture and reminded her she had stated she didn’t want another alcoholic. Instead of getting another picture she cut his hand off that held the drink. When she brought that one in I pointed out the one armed man.

She did find a beautiful picture with a healthy man in it. She put words of health, sober but fun loving, prosperous, generous, etc. and shortly afterward got married. Step 1 is to really evaluate and be sure you are asking correctly.

Step 2 is to include positive words and phrases like “loves my family” or “his family loves me” that will eliminate negative in-law situations.

Step 3 is more words of long, happy marriage, loves to travel, sincere, enjoys my friends, I enjoy his friends. Integrity, generosity, sleeps quietly (without snoring).

Remember, everything you want him to be, you have to match for yourself. (If you want a neatnik, and you’re a slob it would not work very well.)

If you still got something you don’t want, there is a way out. Simply affirm that you are finished with that part of your life and you both move in to the next step of your divine plans with ease and comfort.

You must put a “completion” into something to assure you both can let go with peace. That does work well. Good luck.

Steps For Prayer Therapy

Here’s a short (4+ minutes) video on the Steps for doing Prayer Therapy. The affirmations from the video are posted below.

“The Spirit within me is my guiding wisdom. I am one with this Spirit. I listen, I hear, I know, I trust.”

“I choose to live a life of health, happiness and prosperity. I choose to claim new inspiration for the direction of my life. I choose to attract the perfect job where I am surrounded by delightful people who appreciate my abilities through praise, appreciation and constantly increasing income. I choose to improve my health through good eating, good exercise and good friends who think as I do. I choose a comfortable life, in a comfortable home, driving a comfortable car,  and understanding the activity of God in my life.”

What a Divine Surprise!

I just have a minute before I head on out to work but wanted to share something with you.

Where I work we’ve been short a doctor for over 1 1/2 years now and we’ve been swamped (it’s administrative so don’t worry that we’re hurting patients). I’ve been coming in very early and working on weekends throughout that entire time just to get the job done.

I work in a government job so we don’t get overtime (and if anyone needed a bailout, it was us but that’s another topic). I was just accumulating comp (compensatory) time. Which is funny because if you’re so short staffed that you have to work extra, how can you use up the comp time? Oh well.

Anyway, the administrator where I work is phenomenal and she tracks all these things and found out that for some reason I wasn’t accruing any more comp time in the computer even though I was working extra. She’s fantastic at taking care of us and tracked down the cause. And, of course, since it’s a government job, the reason laid buried in some law somewhere that physicians were no longer able to get comp time….no explanation at all – just a statement.

But, unbeknownst to me (is that how you spell it) I had been paid over $8000 in December for all my back time! Amazing.

I could look at it as a negative that I can’t keep accumulating comp time since I still have to come in extra and be all upset about it, or,

I could have looked at it as if I had a mission I had to accomplish and I just went to work – and look what a terrific surprise that was to me!!

It really is all in how you look at things and think about them.

Off to work (early of course)…..

Have a great day – I know I will.

Books for beginners…

I especially love the earlier authors and books written from about 1900 to about 1950. They are very clear in their explanations and don’t have today’s “hype” words that are frequently taken out of context.

Some examples are:

  • Emmet Fox
  • Joseph Murphy
  • Ralph Waldo Trine
  • James Allen
  • Glenn Clark
  • Venice Bloodworth
  • W. Frederick Keeler

And of course, the founders of the early 3 New Thought organizations.

  • Malinda Cramer, founder of Divine ScienceCharles and
  • Myrtle Fillmore, founders of Unity
  • Ernest Holmes, founder of Religious Science

Any of these will give you a good start. They were prolific writers and each book will further enhance your understanding. Most of them have recently been reprinted.

Read them more than once.

Each time you will get something that you didn’t understand before. It’s the proverbial “onion skin” being pulled away to reveal more of the real you inside.

I still read them and get something new each time.

Because of the different writing styles the slightly different wording gives insights to different areas of how the laws interact. You’ll say “Oh, that’s what he meant.”

This is not difficult.

It is practicing discipline until we have it all thoroughly ingrained in our subconscious.

We just have to “undo” some of our beliefs and “enhance” new ones.

That is part of the mental discipline required.
