Tip of The Month

December is a great month to use “Declare it good” since so many people are stressed out over their “lack” of money and time. They tend to forget that the love embodied in this time can be expressed in so many ways that don’t cost money or take alot of time. So, when you start to feel “deprived” or bad or whatever, simply repeat “I declare it good and can’t wait to see the good that comes out of this”. At first it may seem unbelievable but after awhile you won’t be resistant to it and you’ll say it automatically. See what happens to you during this month. Use “I declare it good” repeatedly during the day.

“Declare It Good” Worked For Me

Over and over again I talk about using the “I declare it good” phrase when things don’t seem to be going well.

I had another opportunity to prove its worth the other night.

As you may or may not know, I went to New York City Thursday with tickets to see Yankees games on Friday and Saturday and fly back Sunday morning. I got there and all is well….well, except for the weather – heavy rain in the forecast. But I still had hope.

Friday came – I went out and walked and walked and enjoyed being a “tourist”.

Friday night I took the subway and arrived at the Stadium. Got in, went to the free restaurant (comes with the tickets) and ate a luscious meal. All day long it had been raining and although it wasn’t heavy, the tarp was on the field and no one knew what was going to happen.

I finished my meal and went to my seats and just as I got to the seat, they postponed the game. Now, I had thought they would play a double header on Saturday and that would have been good since I could stay.  But no, the double header was going to be on Sunday (and my game was going to be Sunday NIGHT) when I was supposed to be leaving.

All the way back to the hotel I kept saying “I declare it good” or “I see the good coming out of this”.

By the time I got to the hotel I had formulated a plan. I would see if I could get tickets for Sunday’s day game and see if I could make arrangements to stay an extra day. Many things had to fall into place but I was still in the “I declare it good” mode (and mood…lol).

So, the most important thing I did after declaring the situation good was to take action. This is a mistake many make – thinking that just saying affirmations will bring you what you want. You have to take action to demonstrate or manifest what you want.  I had a list in my mind of what had to be done and as soon as I got back to the hotel, I worked my way down the list.

Bottom line is that I was able to stay for another day and as a result I saw one game on Saturday and two on Sunday and overall had THE BEST vacation in my entire life. And I know it’s because I declared it good.

Try it some time and see if it works for you!

Did September 11th 2001 Change Your Life?

The hearts of everyone in the United States stood still that horrific day in 2001 and our brains were numb. In fact, most everything was numb in most of us. Such is the human body’s reaction to tremendous trauma like we experienced that day. Not that there has been anything like that in most of our life times. But were all those lives lost in vain?

If you didn’t change your life and your outlook on life after that fateful day, then yes, they were lost in vain.

That was a day when we all questioned the existence of a good God, Higher Power or Divine Mind. You’ve read how we tell you to say “I declare it good”. How could we possibly declare that event good? You have to look at tragedy and know that something good will come from it. This applies not only to the world but to you and your daily life.

Please take some time today and do two things. One is to remember the bravery and selflessness that was exhibited all over our country that day, especially in New York where no one ever thinks good things can happen.

The second thing I want you to do is to look at how your life has changed because of that day. Did you realize that you must live each day to the max – that there may not be a tomorrow? Did you realize that we are not alone and that selfishness does not get us anywhere? That when the chips are down we must take care of and support each other? Perhaps you learned not to be so judgmental? Or maybe it was to tell people you loved them at every possible opportunity?

I encourage you to post below any memories or thoughts you have regarding that day in America – never forget the sacrifices and courage exhibited in New York, DC and Pennsylvania on 11 September 2001. Post your feelings and thoughts.  What motivated you that day?

For those of you not in the United States, post how that day has affected your life as well.

We will never forget and we learn from the stories of strength and survival.

You Can Take It With You – Your Treasure Map, That Is…

I’m sure you know what a treasure map (or vision board, vision map) is if you’re reading this. Previously I knew of two ways to make your treasure map other than using my computer program to do so. But today I’m going to tell you about another method that makes your treasure map portable. I have to give credit to a friend of mine who mentioned that she did this and I thought it was an outstanding idea. So, I want to share it with you. Who says you can’t take it with you?

You can use a treasure map to implant visual impressions on your subconscious mind for things you want to have or achieve. When you look at the map or board repeatedly, your subconscious sees the items on the map as yours. Then it sets about bringing them into your life. It’s a very effective method of manifesting what you want in life. Of course, you should use it in combination with all the other techniques and you must take action. You cannot sit there and look at a treasure map all day long and never look at any other aspect of your life and belief system and then expect everything to come to you. The Universe loves action and you must obey that. You can’t get anything by just sitting around.

To make an effective treasure map you don’t want to have it crowded and you want to scrutinize the pictures and the words you use. For example, one woman was looking for a spouse and she had a great photo on her treasure map. The teacher said, have you had a lot of alcoholics in your life and the woman was astounded. She said “yes, why?” and the teacher asked her to look at the picture she had put on the map. It was a handsome man holding a drink. So the woman thought she’d fix that by cutting off the drink on the picture. The teacher again said “do you want someone with an amputated hand”. The woman finally got the point and found an appropriate picture.

You also want to make sure your words are positive and in the present tense. They can be phrases or single words as long as they convey the actual meaning of what you’re looking for. This is a great place to use superlatives.

To make your treasure map portable, use index cards. Find pictures in magazines or print them out and paste or tape them to the index card. You can put phrases on top if you want but the picture may even be enough.

Then you put several of them together and put them in your purse or pocket (they even make cases for index cards now) and carry them with you. You can pull them out throughout the day and look at them. You can just flip through them or you can focus on one in particular.

When you have received or achieved whatever is on one of them, throw that one away and continue with the others or replace it with a new one. If things don’t seem to be happening AND you’re working on your belief systems with denials and affirmations, then try a new image or new words. Look at the current image and see what it’s telling you. It may be giving you the wrong message and maybe it’s not even something you really want. You need to continuously revise your wants and desires.

How To Turn Your Past Into A Better Future

Do you think of your past and say “If only…..”? Or do you say “What if….”? Are you bitter about your past? Do you have regrets? Or, do you look at your past and say “Wow, I can’t believe how that event or situation changed my life”? Or even “What if that hadn’t happened? How would my life have been different”? Take a chance and a few hours and travel into your past writing down different things that have happened to you. They may be big events or small events. Just start by writing down events you can remember that seem(ed) significant.

This may take a bit of time but just let your mind wander. It does not matter if you write them down in chronological order or in order of significance. Everything will come into the proper perspective later. It helps if you actually use pen and paper. There is something about that hand-eye-brain connection. It certainly stimulates your creativity so it could very easily help you recall more memories.

Once you’ve taken the time to list your thoughts and prior activities, look at each one and see what happened after that event. This may take some thought because the consequences or related situations may not have occurred in close proximity. Some may be really close and others may be far apart. Let me give you an example. I didn’t get accepted into medical school right out of college as I had “planned”. I was devastated of course. I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life since I had wanted to be a doctor since I was 4 years old. But life continued. I kept applying every year and the second year I didn’t get accepted either. So, what good could possibly have come from that? Several things. First, it gave me time to mature which was very important as I began my trek into medicine. But more importantly, I developed a medical issue that wasn’t diagnosed for approximately a year. Had I been in medical school when this developed I would have either dropped out or failed out because of this condition. So, my not getting into medical school when I wanted was actually a very good thing. I was able to go after my condition was diagnosed and stabilized. During those two years I was feeling down and out, however, it did not feel like a good thing. We have to have faith that things really do happen for a reason.

Take the past and the things that have looked like bad luck and see what happened after them. How would your life have turned out had that ‘bad luck’ not happened? Although you can’t change things now, you can declare them good and be grateful for what has happened to you. Remember, declare everything that occurs as good and say “I declare this good and I see the good coming from it”. Do this no matter how dark and dismal something may appear. This statement will convince the Universe that you believe it and the Universe will make it good.

Your life really is what you make of it. You can learn how to craft the events that happen to you and manifest your goals by altering your thoughts and words. The Art of Making Things Happen will assist you in this process.
