“Not only does the thought you are choosing right now attract the next thought and the next . . . and so on—it also provides the basis of your alignment with your Inner Being. As you consistently and deliberately think and speak more of what you do want and less of what you do not want, you will find yourself more often in alignment with the pure, positive essence of your own Source; and under those conditions, your life will be extremely pleasing to you.” ~Abraham (Excerpted from the workshop: Money and the Law of Attraction on August 31, 2008)
Remember how important it is to choose your thoughts. Don’t just let them come to you randomly. Or, if they do, then use something like “that is not my truth” if it’s a negative thought. Or, immediately switch to something positive.
This requires some effort for awhile because you’re trying to change a habit. You have to make a commitment to change if you want to be in better alignment more often.
You’ve heard the expression “boy, you got out of the wrong side of the bed today”. This happens when your thoughts get into alignment but it’s not necessarily an alignment you’ve chosen. It happens when your thoughts randomly flow and began with one negative thought..when one negative thought begins the train and you don’t change it, more negative thoughts are attracted into your mind. And as Abraham says above, you get into alignment with the negative.
Examine each of your thoughts as they occur. If you don’t do it as the singular thought occurs, at least try to check in with your mind as soon as you detect any evidence of negative alignment. Maybe it’s that your shoulders are slumping. Maybe it’s your heart rate increasing or even your respirations. It can be a physical clue – you know your body. It can be a verbal clue – you know what you say when things are not going great inside your mind. It can be an emotional clue – perhaps you’re getting angry or irritable and don’t really know why. Or something someone does every day is bothering you today whereas it doesn’t usually bother you on other days. These are clues that your mind has gone off on its own and is now aligning with the negative.
You can stop it right there if you make some effort. Start thinking of something good that can come from the not so good thing happening right now. Then what could happen based on that good thing? Why does this have to be a negative situation? Have you had experiences in the past that you initially thought were negative and going against you but in the long run turned out to work in your favor? I know that’s happened to me many times.
Pay attention to your thoughts and then the alignment you’re in. Do something about it!
Terrie
