Make Yourself Happy!

Do you find yourself determining your actions based on what others think (or what you think they are thinking)? Do you pattern your actions around making others happy? Or, at least not having them be unhappy with you? I know this has been an issue for me in my life, especially in the past but even this past weekend when I found out that my trainer, Dan, was going to go to New York to surprise me. I felt crushed that I had made the decision not to go and didn’t consider him. Well, if you look at it closely (which I wasn’t really emotionally able to do at that time) – how on earth could I have considered him since he hadn’t told me he was going. It’s probably just as well (as he’s repeatedly told me) that I didn’t know because then I made my decision from within my heart. Read this quote from Abraham and see what I mean:

It is not your role to make others happy; it is your role to keep yourself in balance. When you pay attention to how you feel and practice self-empowering thoughts that align with who-you-really-are, you will offer an example of thriving that will be of tremendous value to those who have the benefit of observing you.

You cannot get poor enough to help poor people thrive or sick enough to help sick people get well. You only ever uplift from your position of strength and clarity and alignment.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the book “Money and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Health, Wealth and Happiness” # 617

By being in balance and having my emotions balanced it will be easier for me (and you too) to affect others without any effort. People can sense where you’re coming from. They really can sense if you’re in alignment and even if they can’t articulate it, they feel it. And if they can’t put their finger on it, they really do act accordingly. If they sense you’re out of balance/out of alignment, they might steer away from you. If they sense you’re in alignment, they will be drawn to you like a magnet. Your sense of alignment and resultant happiness will attract them to you. And in being attracted they will be positively affected by your positive vibrations.

Remember the second part of the quote – this is priceless. You can feel badly about people who are suffering (they’re poor, ill, lost their homes in Superstorm Sandy or some other natural disaster) but what good will you do them if you become homeless to be “like them”? You can’t help them at all can you? You can’t become ill and have that illness take away some of someone else’s illness. It doesn’t work that way. You do the most good for yourself and others if you are in alignment, in balance, if your vibrations are as high on the emotional scale as possible and you emanate calmness and happiness. That type of  vibration is much more beneficial than feeling as if you should be like them – whatever their circumstances.

What can you do today to raise your vibration? Maybe you’re not happy with the election results – what can you do to rise above that since you can’t influence it now – you did all you could if you voted. Maybe you’re still very sad because of the effects of Superstorm Sandy – what can you do positively (internally and externally) to raise your vibration regarding that situation. It does no good to sit around and feel helpless. If you’re far away and have already donated whatever it is you feel you can, then try raising your vibration thinking of the will and determination of all the people enduring this event AND those helping the people who have had to experience this. Send positive energy to the East Coast. Make it a part of your daily routine to figure out where you are on certain things and see how you can start feeling better about it. Do NOT tell the same story and fall into all the negative conversations at work or the gym or wherever. Your job is to rise above all that negativity.

Remember – make yourself happy first – it is NOT your job to make others happy.

What is it you’re going to change today? And how? Let us know below….

Which Switch Are You Operating?

What are you allowing in your life? You do realize you have control over all of what you bring in don’t you?

You have your hand on the switch. You are the allower or the resister. And your emotions tell you which you’re doing right now. It’s easy once you understand the formula: When you feel good, you’re allowing good. When you don’t feel good, you are not allowing good. We didn’t say, when you feel good you are allowing good, and when you feel bad you are allowing bad (although it may translate into your experience in that way). There is only a Source of Well-being—which you are allowing or not.

How are you feeling right now? I am feeling pretty good about my decision to stay home from the NYC Marathon so I am allowing good to come from that. I signed up for a new course (another year long one) yesterday but I gave myself about a week and alot of EFT before making that decision. I didn’t want to just jump in and form an opinion and then “regret” it or “think I made the wrong decision” (again). So, this time (as opposed to the marathon decision) I had more time to examine my emotions and how I felt about it. The few “negative” emotions I had didn’t feel good. So I examined them and they really weren’t what I thought they were. They were  really fear based hiding under something “more acceptable” such as “I don’t have enough time” etc. EFT helped me get into the real cause of the “bad feelings” and once I uncovered them and tapped on them I was able to be “unstuck” and allow the good emotions in and the ease with which the excitement flowed into my “unstuck” drain once again amazed me.

We spend way too much time analyzing things instead of just going with our emotions and figuring out what it is they are telling us. Our goal should simply be to allow good into our lives and cherish it. We need to stop standing on our head and looking at things every which way in order to dissect them. Just go with your feelings and you’ll be right most of the time. Of course, that’s not natural for us but if we practice feeling good and as a result allowing the good in, we’ll be surprised and when we see the results, we’ll want to continue to allow the good feelings in.

Try it, you’ll like it. Partner up with someone to coach you on this. Let them guide you in your allowing good to come into your life.

Who Are Your Cooperative Components?

This quote from Abraham summarizes not only the past 9 months for me, but also the past few days of working with all of you.

My Imagination Attracts All Cooperative Relationships… You have the power to evoke from others the relationships that you desire. But you cannot get to a new-and-improved situation by giving your attention to the current situation. The Universe, and all physical and Non-Physical players in it, is responding to the Vibrations that you are offering; and there is no distinction made between the Vibrations that you offer as you observe, and the Vibrations that you offer as you imagine. . . . If you will simply imagine your life as you want it to be, all cooperative components will be summoned. And even more important, all components that are summoned will cooperate. It is Law. The experience that you have with others is about what you evoke from them.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the book, The Vortex, Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships # 470

It’s really all about Cooperative Relationships. We bring others into our lives to work together. We can bring them in as Cooperative components (meaning they all work together) or Uncooperative (meaning the opposite). Naturally a person wouldn’t intentionally bring them in as uncooperative but by “telling the same old story” they will be bringing in the same character types (even with different faces) as they have been all along.

What I realized in the past several months is that it’s really all about teamwork (Cooperative Components) and I was able to bring them into my existence as soon as I thought about them. When I first started imagining and training for the NYC Marathon a year ago, I was operating from the same place I had been 11 years ago when I really did not have any resources or any type of components to assist me in reaching my desires (many reasons) so I was on my own. But this year I have a much different perspective on life and have grown over the last 11 years and although I was initially “stuck” in the old ways, as I went along, my dream became such a  large, powerful and positive force that I (with help from Kay and EFT) began to take the blinders off and see an entire world of Cooperative Components around me – all there for me to call into my world. And believe you me, I started calling them and bringing them into my inner circle.

I could never have gotten to this point without my TEAM of coaches. Each has their own aspect of my life to address, but you know what? They are all Life Coaches even though that’s not what they are called. Why do I say that? Because they are all an integral part of my life – my life, not just my training. I pulled out all the stops in the last two months and solicited AIRROSTI doctors as an additional force of my team. And if you want a laugh, you can see my AIRROSTI doc, Dr. Jackson in a very funny interview – it put a big smile on my face because I’ve watched her an “Adam” interact and they are just like this interview. But, I digress….

My personal trainer (Dan) and my EFT practitioner (Kay) have been with me the entire year. Without them I would not be where I am today. I have to say that the Internet was a coach too. I found information on my shins and hips on the Internet and that’s why I was able to get through the inevitable injuries from such long training. I had THE most Cooperative Components possible. And there were the other Components too – Abraham-Hicks, Christy Whitman, Dr. Jeanette Cates, my POD group from my coaching class and on and on and on. I listened to Abraham’s teaching every Sunday during my 5-7 hour long runs and I learned more than you can possibly imagine. I was running in the Vortex (another post to come) almost every minute of every run. And you can’t ask for anything better.

So, what Cooperative Components have you drawn into your life? Which ones can you recruit and add to your team? Do you need help thinking around your box (not just outside of it)? Do you have a stable person (or persons) you can go to whenever things are not going as you would like them? What do you think you could accomplish if you did have a coach as a Cooperative Component? Who is your coach? Would you like to reach further toward your goals. Holly reminded me the other day of my primary goal in life – to dedicate a wing of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital to my hero – Suzanne. Thank you for that Holly! Who do you have on your side to bring you back to your path to the Vortex?

Think on these questions and let me know what you think and where you think you really could go if you brought the best possible Cooperative Components into your life…comment below.

Muddy Vision….

How appropriate is this quote from Abraham for today and this week’s conversation? Of course, it’s appropriate for all of your life too.  Let’s think on this for a bit:

“You have sole ownership of your vision. And the Universe will give you what you want within your vision. What happens with most people is that they muddy their vision with “reality”. Their vision becomes full of not only what they want but what everybody else thinks about what they want, too. Your work is to clarify and purify your vision so that the vibration that you are offering can then be answered.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the workshop in Boston, MA on Sunday, October 11th, 1998 # 614″

This is what was happening (in part) to me this week. I had a vision – to run this marathon that I had trained for this entire year (actually 13 months) but it just as easily can apply to any other goal that we have (you or me). I resisted what others thought about my goal for the year. I got the usual comments (when I even told anyone about it): “you’re too old, aren’t you?”, “that’s an awful lot of work”, “why on earth would you want to do that? It’s so much work.” and on and on and on. So, mostly I just didn’t tell anyone. Because I knew what I wanted. I did NOT want their opinions to get in my way or to even possibly influence me to change my goal – based on what they were saying or thinking. They were NOT inside of me or my head.

It’s worse for many of you that have family and have ideas about your goals that may not be as supportive as you’d like. You have to live with them and try to figure out how to keep the peace and still accomplish what you want.

Our job (and this is where coaching and a support network comes in) is to keep that vision right there in front of us and NOT let anyone cloud it up (muddy it up). If you’ve thought of this idea, this goal, this vision, then know that it definitely is yours. Do you get excited when you think about it? Do you feel alive when you visualize it? Do you just know that it’s yours to do and have? It really is yours if it generates all that enthusiasm, excitement, even love.

Do NOT let anyone else interfere with what you want, no matter what. You will regret it and you will be unfulfilled. Remember that the Universe gave you this idea because it was yours to do.  Do not be concerned if it seems too big or too massive for “little ole you” to accomplish. It came into your mind for a reason and if it came into your mind, then you can do it. Just hold onto that thought. There are many ways to recruit and deploy the necessary resources to accomplish your dream, your vision, your goal – whatever you want to call it. Do not get discouraged before you start. I could have easily given up before I ran a step a year ago. Two years ago this month I could not walk one-tenth of a mile without severe back pain.  So how dare I even contemplate trying to run 26.2 miles? I even allowed my vision to be muddied over the Christmas holidays in 2011 when I started to have some back pain and talked to one of my doctors about it and he said I was too old to be putting that much pounding on my back. For several weeks I “listened” to him – I had his words in my head. But fortunately, my desire to run pushed him away and I got back on track. That is bound to happen to us since we live with other people. But the key thing is to continue to hold the vision so that we can get back on track or not deviate forever. It may be that life circumstances get in the way and we have to change our schedules but we should NEVER give up the dream and vision.

This is why we recommend often that you don’t tell people about your goals and dreams. Human nature is to find something inherently wrong in what you’re after, especially if it’s lofty or will make you very happy. People think they are “helping you” when they are pointing out why you shouldn’t do it or how hard it’s going to be. Don’t let them in. That’s the easiest way to keep your vision from being muddied. Or if you have to let them in, tell them the least amount possible and keep it very generic. It’s your goal and dream, not theirs.

Having a coach is one way to ensure that you’ll not be pushed off your desired path by others. The coach is your coach and will support you, not those with the other opinion. A coach will help you get back on track, nudge you to shake off that mud that’s clouding your vision. Someone who is there for you and with you all the time, supporting you in your goals, helping you continue along the path. It is possible to reach your goals on your own but it’s so much easier and faster if you do it with someone.

All I care about is that you continue with your dream, your vision, your goal. Your path is just that – yours! March down it keeping your head up high and always know that you will get there. It may be postponed (as with my marathon) or it may even come earlier than you think. But the point is, it will come!

What are your dreams? Who is your coach?
