What usually happens, though, is that we don&#8217;t pay attention. We don&#8217;t slow down enough to actually &#8220;hear&#8221; what that message is.</p>
<p>So, then we go along and repeat the exact same action &#8211; as they say &#8211; we just &#8220;rinse and repeat&#8221;. Guess what? The Universe will deliver whatever it is we&#8217;re paying attention to and focusing on. More of the same comes our way.</p>
<p>Instead of just walking along blindly, falling into the same hole over and over again, slow down or even stop and take a look at what life is trying to tell you. What are you supposed to be hearing? Could it be that you should be more patient? How about less judgmental and more accepting? Maybe you need to learn how to say &#8220;no&#8221;. Maybe you have to develop outside interests. Maybe you need to pay more attention to your health. Any of these and more are possibilities.</p>
<p>Eventually the Universe will get your attention. But you really don&#8217;t want it to get this far, do you? Why experience so much more misery? If you could slow down, listen and make on the spot corrections, then your life could be so much more simple and happy. It&#8217;s &#8220;ok&#8221; to have one bad experience but why go through it so many times?</p>
<p>When you do stop and take some inventory, you will most likely uncover many of your limiting beliefs. Frequently people who experience abuse repeatedly are either a product of abusive childhoods or believe that they deserve to be punished &#8211; for just about anything and everything. This is a significant limiting belief and unless you uncover it and work to get rid of it, you really will just repeat history.</p>
<ul>
<li>Figure out what&#8217;s happened to make you unhappy at this particular moment.</li>
<li>Swallow your pride and listen to what others have to tell you about the cause &#8211; even if you have to hear that you&#8217;re not the greatest at something or that you have a fault that warrants correction. Although it&#8217;s not easy to hear that now, it&#8217;s much better than to experience the same tragedy over and over again.</li>
<li>Evaluate what others have told you. Put it up against what you think might be going wrong. Was it you? Was it someone or something else? But always remember that we attract EVERYTHING into our lives and it&#8217;s our job to figure out what that was and why we keep attracting it. That&#8217;s where a large majority of your time should be spent.</li>
<li>When you&#8217;ve made that evaluation list, examine it and see if you can uncover some of your limiting beliefs? What are they? Go as deep as you can. Do you feel unworthy of love or money? If so, why?</li>
<li>Once you&#8217;ve discovered these limiting beliefs see if you can identify other events in your life that were based on the same limitations.</li>
<li>Write down the limiting beliefs (or other reasons you think this has happened).</li>
<li>What are you going to do about it? What actions are you going to take? Maybe you admit that you have to take responsibility for what&#8217;s happened and you make an attempt to change the actions or thoughts that have caused the problem.</li>
<li>Start a book of positive aspects if it involves other people. Remember to write at least 3 things a day about the other person. I think you can also try this for a situation too even though it was developed for problems with people.</li>
<li>The important thing is to journal (even if it&#8217;s just jotting short notes) of what happens, what you think, how you&#8217;re changing (or not), what you want to keep doing, and what the results are. Write it all down so you can learn from it later.</li>
</ul>
<p>Try this and stop being a slow learner. Move up the ladder in life by making the changes.</p>

<p>Most importantly, though, you need to assess your life as it is right now. How are you feeling? Do you feel complete? Do you feel as if something&#8217;s missing in your life? Are there other things you&#8217;d really like to be doing? Why do you think you&#8217;re not doing them or why haven&#8217;t they come into your life?</p>
<p>Most likely the answer lies deep within &#8211; in your inner belief system. And it&#8217;s usually your limiting beliefs that get you and hold you back. These limiting beliefs have led to habits and repetitive talk (internal and external) that gives the universe various messages about what you really want. Thus, you are attracting those mixed messages and not attracting what you really want. Usually that&#8217;s because of some &#8220;I don&#8217;t deserve better&#8221; belief that&#8217;s been ingrained in your inner being for so many years.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not advocating &#8220;therapy&#8221; or rehashing all that&#8217;s happened in your past because we already know that if we do that, we&#8217;re likely to attract more. But, it&#8217;s important to think about why we do or think certain things.</p>
<p>One way I&#8217;ve found that helps is to create your affirmation for whatever you want and then say it. If your mind comes up with a &#8216;but&#8217; then fill in what comes after that and that will be your limiting belief. For example &#8220;I am a millionaire&#8221; followed by &#8220;but that could never happen to me. Plus, what if it did? Would I have to work harder? I don&#8217;t want to work harder?&#8221; See how several limiting beliefs are buried in the &#8216;but&#8217;?</p>
<ol>
<li>It could never happen to me (aka &#8220;I&#8217;m not worthy&#8221;)</li>
<li>followed by a belief that if you make a lot of money you have to work hard.</li>
<li>there&#8217;s also the possibility that you&#8217;re thinking that to succeed in anything, you have to work hard and you don&#8217;t want to.</li>
</ol>
<p>You could go further if you took the time to fill in everything in the &#8220;but&#8221; statement but this was just an example.</p>
<p>It doesn&#8217;t matter what the cause is for the limiting beliefs &#8211; that&#8217;s where therapy gets everything hung up.  All we want to know is what&#8217;s standing in the way of you achieving the life you want &#8211; i.e. your limiting beliefs.</p>
<p>This process could get a bit discouraging as you uncover all your &#8220;buts&#8221; but (ha ha) just look at it as a list.</p>
<p>More importantly, you want to start writing a real story about how you really want your life to be and what you want to happen.  I recommend doing this in story format &#8211; as if you&#8217;re writing a script for a play or movie. That allows you to get colorful and specific. The more color and excitement you generate the better you feel and the more your vibrations and momentum get going in the right direction.</p>
<p>I would also suggest you keep writing but if you feel a &#8220;tug&#8221; when you get to some particular part, then don&#8217;t stop but put a star by that section so you can go back later and examine it for limiting beliefs.</p>
<p>Try writing your story for the next six months (or even for a month if you&#8217;re very skeptical) first. Read the story over several times and edit it as you go along. When you&#8217;re happy with it, read it once a week and make any necessary changes. Then write the next story &#8211; you might want to expand it to a year.</p>

<p>Read this simple quote several times and let the meaning sink in.</p>
<p>This is often why people say that &#8216;positive thinking&#8217; doesn&#8217;t work.  And it&#8217;s also why affirmations by themselves may not be as effective as we&#8217;d like.  It&#8217;s another reason why much of the time even if you do everything you&#8217;re supposed to, it still doesn&#8217;t seem that you can manifest what you want &#8211; and then we get impatient and simply &#8220;quit&#8221;, saying &#8220;see I told you it doesn&#8217;t work&#8221;.</p>
<p>The hardest (but most rewarding) work you can do along these lines is to really examine your beliefs. Usually you can figure out the limiting beliefs by identifying the &#8220;buts&#8221;&#8230;.for example if you say &#8220;I am becoming a millionaire&#8221; &#8211; listen quietly to your inner voice and hear the &#8220;but&#8221; that follows that statement. It goes something like this:</p>
<p>Your voice: &#8220;I am becoming a millionaire&#8221;</p>
<p>You mind: &#8220;but there is no way that can happen given my current income and my age. I&#8217;ll be dead before I could possibly make that kind of money. Besides I have a day job and don&#8217;t have time to work hard enough to make that much money and even what if I decided I wanted to try for it, I would have no more freedom and I&#8217;d have such increased responsibilities that I wouldn&#8217;t know how to juggle them with my family and my day job&#8230;..&#8221;</p>
<p>Do you see how many limiting beliefs are uncovered in the short time it took me to jot it down. And I didn&#8217;t even give it any thought. These are just things that I have heard come out of people&#8217;s mouths when I ask them about their beliefs and desires. You can also see that becoming a millionaire, in addition to being a trigger, is probably not something that person really wants deep inside. This person doesn&#8217;t want to work any extra or have anything add responsibilities to their already full day, or that might interfere with their relationships (family, job, etc).  They aren&#8217;t even willing to entertain that there are many ways to become a millionaire and that this process does NOT necessarily require extra work or taking you away from your family. But these are good reasons (aka excuses) as to why they won&#8217;t even make the effort. This person will say the affirmation but without looking at the &#8220;but&#8221;, they won&#8217;t understand why it won&#8217;t come true.</p>
<p>Examine your &#8216;buts&#8217; and write them down. Keep going too. I could have just stopped with the &#8220;given my income and age&#8221; but there was more in this person&#8217;s belief as to why they couldn&#8217;t become a millionaire so we had to let it just flow. Do that with yourself. You will discover many of your beliefs. Once they have been uncovered, you can work on changing the ones you want to and then your desires can be in concert with your new beliefs.</p>
<p>Remember, though, that beliefs may have multiple layers.  So, don&#8217;t just stop with one &#8220;but&#8221; session. Do this repeatedly especially after you&#8217;ve identified one or more limiting beliefs in response to a sentence. Then go back and do it again and you&#8217;ll most likely realize there are more. It&#8217;s that wonderful &#8220;onion peeling process&#8221; at work. Use it to its full advantage. This part isn&#8217;t hard. It may be a bit painful when you see what&#8217;s been holding you back (maybe you still think the earth is flat &#8211; not really but sometimes your old beliefs are old and new facts have refuted them by now but that message has not made it deep within your subconscious mind). But it definitely will be worth it!</p>

I think we all are like that and don&#8217;t really pay much attention to these messages until they smack you in the face. It behooves us to listen and learn earlier on rather than waiting for that smack. Oh well.</p>
<p>I make bone broth (good for immunity) in batches and put them in very large mason jars. Then when I&#8217;m ready to start to use that batch I have to remove the layer of hardened fat at the top (not as gross as it sounds).  If there is a thick layer (like all our limit beliefs), first I have to recognize that I don&#8217;t want this part of the package (identifying the limiting beliefs that<a href="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_2329.jpg"><img loading="lazy" class="alignright wp-image-3916" style="margin: 5px;" src="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_2329-225x300.jpg" alt="IMG_2329" width="126" height="168" srcset="https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_2329-225x300.jpg 225w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_2329-82x109.jpg 82w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/IMG_2329.jpg 240w" sizes="(max-width: 126px) 100vw, 126px" /></a> are, well, &#8220;limiting&#8221;), then I have to cut through it (recognizing that a belief is a thought I just keep thinking over and over again) followed by removal of the lard to uncover the beautiful and healthy broth underneath (letting the real you come through and cultivating UNlimiting beliefs).</p>
<p>By now, you&#8217;re thinking that I need to see a psychiatrist or be locked up I&#8217;m sure. But it really is just like identifying and undoing your limiting beliefs.</p>
<p>This morning when I started a new batch, the lard layer was very deep and it took more effort to cut through it and I had to make more slices than the usual 4. I had to cut it more like a pie (or a pizza &#8211; yum). That took more effort to get through (those beliefs we&#8217;ve been harboring since childhood). Then when the cuts were made, I was having difficulty getting the pieces out because of the rounded shape to the bottle (sometimes we just give up trying to change our beliefs when we find it too hard to even break through. We give up when we can&#8217;t find a way to make any progress. Even when we&#8217;re trying to dig deep to get under the lard (belief), it seems as if there is a wall there and there is no way to remove this stuff (belief).</p>

Once that first piece is out, the foundation is rocked and you can now proceed to remove the rest more rapidly. It almost seems easy at that point and you wonder why it took so long or seemed so hard (you now are having an easy time with your new thoughts/beliefs).</p>
<p>When I recognized this metaphor/analogy/whatever (I always get them confused) this morning, I knew that this was a turning point, not only for people I work with on their limiting beliefs but also for myself.  The initial frustration made things more difficult &#8211; I was pushing against resistance to try to get big pieces out with one attempt. That ended up taking more time than if I had just worked to get a small piece removed and gradually continued with my progress. I think we try to bite off more than we can chew (or remove) and then we&#8217;re upset when we can&#8217;t get it all out (get to the goal &#8211; the ultimate destination) &#8220;real soon&#8221;. It takes patience and we really do need to slow down.</p>
<p>&#8220;Slow down&#8221; has become my mantra after this experience as you&#8217;ve seen in other posts and will continue to see. I&#8217;ve missed so much of life going after the destination and trying to remove all the lard at once. Now I&#8217;m going to not fight, not meet the resistance with force but with relaxation and gentleness and see what happens. So what that I can&#8217;t go to the 100 mile race this coming weekend &#8211; the one I was so happy to have finally gotten into? Will my world end? Heck no. So what if I still can&#8217;t run for a few more weeks? What else can I do to substitute for that? Many things. I have a wonderful life and just want to give to others in whatever way I can. That is my journey.</p>
<p>I know I rambled a lot today but I&#8217;ve learned so much just from this one jar of bone broth! Who knew?</p>

<p>How can you do that? You can identify something that you believe but don&#8217;t want to &#8211; such as &#8220;I don&#8217;t deserve to be rich&#8221; or &#8220;the rich are greedy&#8221; (these are beliefs you hold deep in your subconscious and they hold you back). You want to have money. You want prosperity in your life. But somehow something is holding you back. If you then realize that you&#8217;ve always been told and believe that rich people are greedy or even that they are stingy, you&#8217;ve got these obstacles to your obtaining prosperity because you don&#8217;t want to be greedy or stingy.</p>
<p>What is a small tweak you can make in this belief? Think of just one person you know who has a lot of money (and that is from your perspective, no one else&#8217;s). Is that person greedy or stingy. An easy one to pick is Bill Gates. Everyone criticizes him for Windows and then they are &#8220;mad&#8221; that he has so much money from something that doesn&#8217;t always work as they want it. Well, there are several items for examination here. One is that Bill Gates himself doesn&#8217;t deserve to be paid for creating his product(s). We have run into that frequently in the spiritual realm. People think that just because it involves spirituality or religion, everything should be free. That is totally bogus. If something is valuable, you should be willing to pay for the product or service in order to show gratitude in one way but more importantly to circulate our currency throughout the Universe. Notice how we&#8217;ve uncovered another belief here &#8211; that people &#8220;owe&#8221; others free information. Or said in a different way &#8220;I shouldn&#8217;t have to pay for information that will benefit me&#8221;. That is really one you have to work on if it&#8217;s in your subconscious mind.</p>

Don&#8217;t blame everything on someone else &#8211; we&#8217;ve talked about that before.</p>
<p>You can see how thinking of one rich person for just a few seconds has surfaced several limiting beliefs and a pattern of putting blame (and responsibility) on external sources.</p>
<p>Working on all of these beliefs (and I&#8217;ll bet there are others underneath them) seems ominous and intimidating. But let&#8217;s start small. Remember we&#8217;re working on the belief that rich people are greedy and stingy. All you have to do is think about how much good Mr. Gates has done for AIDS. He has probably done more than anyone else in the world as far as that cause is concerned. If he were greedy and stingy would he have done that? Your next limiting belief might surface at that statement &#8211; &#8220;well, he probably just supports the charity because of tax deduction.&#8221; While that may be a benefit, if you research how much he&#8217;s done and what it&#8217;s entailed, you&#8217;ll see that it goes way beyond tax deductions. Most rich people are passionate about helping others in some way or another. I know that the primary reason I want to be prosperous is so that I can support St Jude Children&#8217;s Research Hospital and can help others.</p>
<p>This is just a tweak but it&#8217;s already dug into the foundation of your limiting beliefs regarding being rich. You only need to delve into things slightly and then once you start digging, you&#8217;ll be like an archaeologist and be excited about all you&#8217;ve uncovered. You&#8217;ll want to continue your expedition and see what else you can work on to help you eliminate these beliefs that are holding you back!</p>

Whenever you are complaining or criticizing, you&#8217;re putting out negative vibrations and thoughts into the Universe. And even if they are thoughts about someone else or some other situation, the Universe only knows that they are emanating from you! Therefore the Universe simply thinks you want more of that negativity to come into your life.</p>
<p>What good does complaining and criticizing do anyway? Does it accomplish <a href="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining.jpg"><img loading="lazy" class="alignright wp-image-3844" style="margin: 5px;" src="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-300x300.jpg" alt="complaining" width="216" height="216" srcset="https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-300x300.jpg 300w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-150x150.jpg 150w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-35x35.jpg 35w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-760x760.jpg 760w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-400x400.jpg 400w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-82x82.jpg 82w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining-600x600.jpg 600w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/complaining.jpg 960w" sizes="(max-width: 216px) 100vw, 216px" /></a>anything? No, of course not. It&#8217;s different that stating an issue and presenting a solution if there&#8217;s one warranted. If there isn&#8217;t a solution needed, then there really isn&#8217;t a problem is there? And there&#8217;s nothing to complain about. Perhaps it&#8217;s something that you&#8217;re not overly happy about &#8211; let&#8217;s say a change requested by your new boss. If there&#8217;s no solution you can see, then stop and ask yourself what&#8217;s really bothering you. Is it, perhaps, that you just don&#8217;t like change and that&#8217;s why you&#8217;re not happy? Is it that you didn&#8217;t think of it and that&#8217;s why you&#8217;re not happy? Is it because you&#8217;ll have to start doing things differently and you are happy and content in your current comfort zone? What really is going on in your mind and your heart? That is what you have to investigate no matter how deep you have to dig. Go within, not without. Complaining and criticizing is going &#8220;without&#8221;. Whereas the introspection to figure out what is going on inside of you is going &#8220;within&#8221;. That is growth and will help you learn what is going on inside of you and what to do about it. It may be (but probably isn&#8217;t) that there really is a problem and with this in depth look, you&#8217;ll come up with a solution. However, it is more likely that you&#8217;ll find out more about yourself and then be able to improve your outlook and attract more positive things into your life.</p>
<p>Constant co<a href="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dont-complain.jpg"><img loading="lazy" class="alignleft wp-image-3810" style="margin-bottom: 7px; margin-left: 7px; margin-right: 7px; cursor: url('chrome://thumbnailzoomplus/skin/images/tzp-cursor.gif'), crosshair;" title="" src="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dont-complain-300x233.jpg" alt="dont complain" width="180" height="140" srcset="https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dont-complain-300x233.jpg 300w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dont-complain-82x64.jpg 82w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/dont-complain.jpg 495w" sizes="(max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px" /></a>mplaining and criticizing also will make you sick because of all the negative energy surrounding you. Negative thoughts and feelings put you in a low level stress response and the excess cortisol that you&#8217;re constantly producing in that state will eventually lead to chronic fatigue and lower your immunity. You really can make yourself sick in so many ways. Do you ever say things like &#8220;I&#8217;m sick and tired&#8221; or &#8220;I&#8217;m fed up&#8221; or even worse &#8220;This is killing me&#8221; or &#8220;you make me sick&#8221;. These are all affirmations to the Universe to bring you more of what you&#8217;re talking about &#8211; the Universe does NOT know that these are just expressions.</p>
<p>Unless you turn within and investigate what is making you feel these negative vibrations, you will never grow and progress. The complaining and criticizing will hold you back. It&#8217;s just further validation of your limiting beliefs. You never have the chance to explore what those beliefs are and why you have them and more importantly, how to clear t<a href="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/holding_back_competitors_400_clr_11096.png"><img loading="lazy" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-3772" title="" src="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/holding_back_competitors_400_clr_11096-300x187.png" alt="holding_back_competitors_400_clr_11096" width="300" height="187" srcset="https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/holding_back_competitors_400_clr_11096-300x187.png 300w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/holding_back_competitors_400_clr_11096-82x51.png 82w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/holding_back_competitors_400_clr_11096.png 400w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a>hem and figure out what you really want to believe. That is the only way you&#8217;ll grow and progress. So, if you feel you&#8217;re being held back, realize that you are not being held back by anyone or anything. It&#8217;s you who are holding yourself back.  You really are and can be in control of your progress and growth. Stop blaming anyone or anything but yourself. What happened in the past is in the past. The present and the future is totally up to you. You can continue to try to blame external sources but that won&#8217;t get you anywhere. The Universal Laws operate within you. You really do have control of your life. Of course, with that awareness comes the responsibility to take things into your own hands. Often that is a great burden but it also brings tremendous freedom! Once you know that you can change things, you can bring whatever you want into your life, you feel lighter and happier. And you realize that you have the ability to grow and nurture yourself to a degree you&#8217;ve never had before.</p>
<p>Keep track of how often you complain or criticize others. Figure out something to do to change your thoughts and behavior when you find yourself doing that. For example, just say something like &#8220;that person is doing the best he can with what he has&#8221; or &#8220;I&#8217;m sure that he has reasons for behaving that way and I just don&#8217;t know what they are&#8221;. Practice that on easy things like when you start to criticize other drivers or other parents or someone at a grocery store or event. Simple things that really are unimportant. Once you start practicing on those, you&#8217;ll find it easier to change the way you think about the more important things in your life.</p>

<p>If you have repeatedly felt people with money are greedy and not to be trusted, then you will likely not become one of them because you don&#8217;t want to be seen as greedy and untrustworthy.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s really helpful to examine where you are right now and what you think got you there. For example, things were going very well but then there were three months that everything got turned upside down. It seemed like it happened all of a sudden and I couldn&#8217;t figure it out. Finally it had gone on long enough that I decided to look at what led up to those times.</p>
<p>Lo and behold it was my negative beliefs and thoughts that had been creeping into my mind more and more and because it was a gradual process and was evolving like ivy does. Slowly but surely and then you wonder where it had all come from. It was very obvious after I had looked at it all. I saw how it all unfolded and came together. And it was in all areas of my life. See how easily things can happen to you when you&#8217;re not being vigilant at all times. Because we&#8217;re always working through and against the past and our past we have to be attentive to our thoughts and words.</p>
<p>Even though it might be painful and in some ways discouraging, it&#8217;s important to see if you can determine how you got to this point. Of course it&#8217;s also important to be working simultaneously on how you want to fix it and change your circumstances. And although you don&#8217;t have to look at the path you took to get here, it will be very helpful in either deterring it in the future or at least aborting it as early as you can once you recognize that things aren&#8217;t going so great. We also have to remember to track how much we&#8217;re telling stories about how bad things are. Telling our friends and family over and over again brings things to pass.</p>
<p>I use my calendar program as a diary too ( I just happened to find an excellent program that allows me to do both) so I can go back and see what&#8217;s happened when and if I&#8217;m savvy enough, then I&#8217;ll be able to see the progression of thoughts and feelings.</p>

What do I mean by this? Simply that you shouldn&#8217;t keep looking back &#8211; for any reason! If you keep looking around behind you, it screws with your momentum. Think about driving along and you&#8217;re at a certain speed that&#8217;s feeling pretty good and getting you where you&#8217;re going. But you&#8217;re worried (first clue) that there might be some cops behind you or maybe just someone who is tailgating and wants to pass you. As you&#8217;re looking around, you end up putting your foot on the brake to slow down while you look. Your momentum has slowed and now you have to do something to speed up again.</p>
<p>Why do you even want to look at what&#8217;s in your past?  The only possibly legitimate reason could be to examine your limiting beliefs&#8230;but you could check them out without knowing where they come from. Only curiosity could be the reason for trying to figure out whether you got them from your parents or your teachers or what. But that&#8217;s not really important, is it? What&#8217;s matter is that you identify that you actually DO have those beliefs  and then how you can change them.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re looking at what events have happened in your life AND what limiting beliefs have been operating in your mind and life. These beliefs have been the primary influencing factor in how the Law of Attraction works in your  life. You can take a short time to look at past events and see if this has been the case &#8211; have you been living with self-fulfilling prophecies.  This is just another phrase for the Law of Attraction. I used to (many, many years ago) tell people that they wouldn&#8217;t like me once they got to know me and guess what? They pulled away eventually &#8211; just as I predicted (prophecy).</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a comfort zone involved here as well. No matter how crappy our past was, it still is something we can hold on to. We know what we felt like, we know what our responses were. It&#8217;s the knowledge that is the comfort. When we&#8217;re stepping out into new territory and changing our thoughts and life actions, it&#8217;s scary because we don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s going to happen. What if something goes wrong? What if I didn&#8217;t identify my limiting beliefs enough? What if, what if? By the time you&#8217;re done questioning yourself, you want to go back to the past.</p>
<p>Guess what? The past is over, done with, gone! You just have to be daring and brave and move on. Trying the new way of life won&#8217;t hurt you as long as you believe in the Law of Attraction and the other Universal Laws. This is a friendly universe. We just seem to be very adept at repeating our past &#8211; because we pay so much attention to it. Be different, you might like it.</p>
<p>So stop looking in your rear view mirror and stop playing in the Exorcist. Keep you head forward and watch what&#8217;s happening in front of you. This is a major benefit of having a coach. Your coach will walk with you and help  you through the scary parts.</p>
<p>Think about it, then go do it!</p>

Even though it sometimes is meant as a joke, people often are serious. They feel it&#8217;s ok to break rules and as long as they aren&#8217;t &#8220;caught&#8221;, everything&#8217;s fine and dandy.</p>
<p>When it comes to the Universal laws, however, there is no breaking them. Take the most known one &#8211; the Law of Attraction &#8211; for instance. How would you break the &#8220;Law&#8221;? By focusing on the things that you don&#8217;t want all the while expecting what you want to show up in your life.  The Universe does not respond to words &#8211; &#8220;I want a million dollars&#8221;. It responds to your feelings, your vibrations &#8211; &#8220;I have so many blasted bills to pay, I&#8217;ll never get anywhere since I just don&#8217;t have enough money&#8221;. Even while writing this I could feel the frustration and even despair that would be in someone&#8217;s voice if they were saying that. Those are the emotions. There&#8217;s frustration, despair, helplessness, anger, depression, disappointment, etc. These are what the Universe responds to. And, as such, this is what you will receive &#8211; more lack, more bills. Why? That is the Law &#8211; you receive what you ask for and by concentrating on or focusing on the lack, the bills, that is what the Universe thinks you&#8217;re asking for &#8211; more of it.</p>
<p>&#8220;But I can&#8217;t escape reality&#8221; you say. &#8220;The reality is that I have all these bills ad I&#8217;m NOT making a million dollars nor do I see how I ever could. How do you expect me to believe and focus on that?&#8221; I don&#8217;t. I know that it would seem unrealistic and unbelievable for you to believe you have a million dollars when you have a load of bills to pay. You can&#8217;t lie to yourself. Well, you could lie to yourself but you wouldn&#8217;t believe that lie. So how do you keep from breaking the Law.</p>
<p>You change what you&#8217;re thinking about and focusing on. If you&#8217;re ill and have a less than desirable diagnosis, you won&#8217;t be able to change that just by making an affirmation. So, you have to find something else to focus on &#8211; that Kodak moment I keep referring to. When you are thinking about something that makes you feel good or accomplished, then you build up your momentum and your entire body energy alters and that energy will go about working all throughout your body to try to facilitate manifestation of health.</p>
<p><span id="more-2884"></span></p>
<p>Bottom line is that you stop breaking the law by &#8220;going&#8221; someplace else. If you go to your &#8220;reality&#8221;, then you will have to struggle to try to change your negative emotion and turn it into positive energy. That&#8217;s next to impossible since the power of your resistance is amazing. So don&#8217;t even go there. Go to a happy, satisfying and successful place. Remember all the posts I&#8217;ve written advising you to stop telling your story? Even if you can&#8217;t find a Kodak Moment (although you should have plenty of them stored up to pick from), talk about something other than your story. If it&#8217;s a health issue, don&#8217;t think of healing. Think of yourself as healthy and whole. If you think of healing, that is still addressing lack. If you say you need to be healed, you are recognizing that you are not healthy right now and you are focusing on that lack of health. Instead, just think about and visualize yourself as healthy.</p>
<p>Learn the rules, the Laws. Then you have to apply them and work within their rules. You can&#8217;t be saying that the Law doesn&#8217;t work because it hasn&#8217;t made you a millionaire because that&#8217;s not true. What is true is that not only have you most likely been focusing on the fact that you are NOT a millionaire but you&#8217;ve also been ignoring the Law of Gestation. You don&#8217;t plant a seed and then every day dig it up wondering why it hasn&#8217;t blossomed yet. You know how long it will take until it&#8217;s supposed to grow, break the surface and bloom.</p>
<p>These Universal Laws are NOT made to be broken, nor condemned nor criticized. You must follow them in order for them to work. Monitor your thoughts, monitor your words and find something to focus on other than the areas you are experiencing resistance in. You&#8217;ll know resistance by the way it feels &#8211; if it feels uncomfortable and like a struggle, then you have resistance.</p>
<p>These Laws are universal truths just like the Law of Gravity. You have to follow them in order to be successful! Listen to yourself and your feelings and you&#8217;ll know what to do.</p>

That&#8217;s why you should think of your surroundings as your YOUniverse.</p>
<p>No, this is NOT selfish but it is self-centered. Most people have a negative reaction to that phrase too &#8211; self-centered. But, if you understand the Law of Attraction and the fact that you create everything in your life, you will realize that this requires self-centeredness (is that a word?).</p>
<p>However, this concept is also the most generous and giving there is. Because if you get your own momentum going in the direction you wish (some call it positive although there really is no positive and negative when it comes to emotions) and your vibrations are elevated, you will be doing more for those around you than you can by taking conscious actions.</p>
<p>When you create your world, it&#8217;s so important that you focus on the things that make you feel good. Focusing on them will bring more of that good feeling into your life. Remember that you only have to &#8220;Ask&#8221; the Universe once for something. Then move on to raising your vibration and getting yourself in the right space (vibration) to accept what you have asked for. That 3rd step is the hardest part for us humans. We &#8220;ask&#8221; all the time &#8211; any time we think about something for more than 17 seconds we&#8217;ve essentially asked for more of it.  After we&#8217;ve asked, the Universe immediately provides it &#8211; but what happened? It sure hasn&#8217;t appeared as a physical manifestation in your life. So does that mean it doesn&#8217;t work? No, it means two things, one of which we should be very grateful for &#8211; we cannot immediately manifest things in our life &#8211; there is the Law of Gestation which means that things come into your life when the time is right. Dr. Kunath used to use a great example in her own  life. When her kids were little she recognized one day how grateful she was that she didn&#8217;t immediately manifest what she said. She found herself looking out the door and seeing her kids playing on top of the neighbor&#8217;s roof. She screamed at them &#8220;Get down from there &#8211; you&#8217;re going to fall and break your neck&#8221;. At that moment she realized that we needed much more Divine Wisdom to be able to immediately manifest. Otherwise some of the really stupid things we say would actually come true. She also gave a presentation at one of the big international conferences on &#8220;Oops, what do you do when you get what you asked for&#8221;.  Something to think about for sure. Thank goodness for the requirement for 68 seconds of focus (concentrating on something for a series of 4 consecutive 17 second periods puts the Universe into action bringing you what you&#8217;ve asked for). Most people can&#8217;t (or don&#8217;t) focus on one thing for that long.</p>
<p>The second implication from not receiving what we ask for (or so it seems) is even more important. We must &#8220;Allow&#8221; the physical manifestation to come into our life.  Many times this is because we&#8217;ve been taught that we shouldn&#8217;t ask for things or <a href="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/1236855_603864969656204_580817517_n.jpg"><img loading="lazy" class="alignright  wp-image-3090" style="margin: 5px;" alt="1236855_603864969656204_580817517_n" src="http://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/1236855_603864969656204_580817517_n-197x300.jpg" width="138" height="210" srcset="https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/1236855_603864969656204_580817517_n-197x300.jpg 197w, https://gettingunstuckllc.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/1236855_603864969656204_580817517_n.jpg 442w" sizes="(max-width: 138px) 100vw, 138px" /></a>that we have to deserve something or earn something.  We have all sorts of limiting beliefs &#8211; beliefs that keep us from accepting that we are deserving, we are worthy of receiving what we&#8217;ve asked for.  That&#8217;s where the vibration/emotions and momentum comes into play. Concentrating on your YOUniverse and how you feel and think and act with the express purpose of being at the highest vibration possible while generating and maintaining momentum on a higher plane will put you in a space where you allow the Universe to bring you what you asked for. Remember my analogy of placing your order (asking), the company fulfills and ships the order (the Universe gives you what you&#8217;ve asked for). The shipper is at your front door but if you don&#8217;t answer the door or open it to receive what you&#8217;ve ordered, you will continually think that your order has not been filled. And you&#8217;ll get disappointed, discouraged and disbelieving.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s so important for you to work on realizing that what you have in your life is something you&#8217;ve asked for at another time in your life. Make a list of the good and bad things that you&#8217;ve experienced and see if at some point in the past you hadn&#8217;t been concerned or focused on something of that nature.</p>
<p>Being positive, by itself, won&#8217;t work. You can say affirmations all day long (and I&#8217;m a big believer in affirmations), but if you haven&#8217;t cleared the land of your limiting beliefs (especially the self-worth and deserving beliefs), you will blocking the good from coming into your life. For example, you can say affirmations in the morning and the evening but if all day long, you&#8217;re thinking about those bills you can&#8217;t pay, that is what&#8217;s prominent in your vibrations and feelings. As such, you&#8217;ve spent much more time on the not having enough money to pay your bills, that you will receive more and more of that as long as you continue thinking that way.</p>
<p>This is why my YOUniversal phrases are (I know I repeat them a lot but they have gotten me out of trouble so many times that I can&#8217;t say them enough):</p>
<p>&#8220;That is not my truth&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Nothing and nobody can interfere with my prosperity, well-being and peace of mind, not even myself!&#8221;</p>
<p>And say them with emphasis. Keep saying them until your fear or anxiety level has significantly decreased and you can focus on one of your &#8220;Kodak Moments&#8221; stored in the album in your mind &#8211; mine is always running related and it works!</p>
<p>Concentrating on your life will bring you all you need to provide the love and kindness for others that you really want to. You hear all the time that you have to love yourself before you can love others. That applies in every aspect of your life.</p>
<p>Start working more in your YOUniverse and remember the 17 second rule (four periods of focusing for 17 seconds will get you to 68 seconds and that is essential for bringing the manifestation into your life).</p>
