Who Are Your Cooperative Components?

This quote from Abraham summarizes not only the past 9 months for me, but also the past few days of working with all of you.

My Imagination Attracts All Cooperative Relationships… You have the power to evoke from others the relationships that you desire. But you cannot get to a new-and-improved situation by giving your attention to the current situation. The Universe, and all physical and Non-Physical players in it, is responding to the Vibrations that you are offering; and there is no distinction made between the Vibrations that you offer as you observe, and the Vibrations that you offer as you imagine. . . . If you will simply imagine your life as you want it to be, all cooperative components will be summoned. And even more important, all components that are summoned will cooperate. It is Law. The experience that you have with others is about what you evoke from them.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the book, The Vortex, Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships # 470

It’s really all about Cooperative Relationships. We bring others into our lives to work together. We can bring them in as Cooperative components (meaning they all work together) or Uncooperative (meaning the opposite). Naturally a person wouldn’t intentionally bring them in as uncooperative but by “telling the same old story” they will be bringing in the same character types (even with different faces) as they have been all along.

What I realized in the past several months is that it’s really all about teamwork (Cooperative Components) and I was able to bring them into my existence as soon as I thought about them. When I first started imagining and training for the NYC Marathon a year ago, I was operating from the same place I had been 11 years ago when I really did not have any resources or any type of components to assist me in reaching my desires (many reasons) so I was on my own. But this year I have a much different perspective on life and have grown over the last 11 years and although I was initially “stuck” in the old ways, as I went along, my dream became such a  large, powerful and positive force that I (with help from Kay and EFT) began to take the blinders off and see an entire world of Cooperative Components around me – all there for me to call into my world. And believe you me, I started calling them and bringing them into my inner circle.

I could never have gotten to this point without my TEAM of coaches. Each has their own aspect of my life to address, but you know what? They are all Life Coaches even though that’s not what they are called. Why do I say that? Because they are all an integral part of my life – my life, not just my training. I pulled out all the stops in the last two months and solicited AIRROSTI doctors as an additional force of my team. And if you want a laugh, you can see my AIRROSTI doc, Dr. Jackson in a very funny interview – it put a big smile on my face because I’ve watched her an “Adam” interact and they are just like this interview. But, I digress….

My personal trainer (Dan) and my EFT practitioner (Kay) have been with me the entire year. Without them I would not be where I am today. I have to say that the Internet was a coach too. I found information on my shins and hips on the Internet and that’s why I was able to get through the inevitable injuries from such long training. I had THE most Cooperative Components possible. And there were the other Components too – Abraham-Hicks, Christy Whitman, Dr. Jeanette Cates, my POD group from my coaching class and on and on and on. I listened to Abraham’s teaching every Sunday during my 5-7 hour long runs and I learned more than you can possibly imagine. I was running in the Vortex (another post to come) almost every minute of every run. And you can’t ask for anything better.

So, what Cooperative Components have you drawn into your life? Which ones can you recruit and add to your team? Do you need help thinking around your box (not just outside of it)? Do you have a stable person (or persons) you can go to whenever things are not going as you would like them? What do you think you could accomplish if you did have a coach as a Cooperative Component? Who is your coach? Would you like to reach further toward your goals. Holly reminded me the other day of my primary goal in life – to dedicate a wing of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital to my hero – Suzanne. Thank you for that Holly! Who do you have on your side to bring you back to your path to the Vortex?

Think on these questions and let me know what you think and where you think you really could go if you brought the best possible Cooperative Components into your life…comment below.

Muddy Vision….

How appropriate is this quote from Abraham for today and this week’s conversation? Of course, it’s appropriate for all of your life too.  Let’s think on this for a bit:

“You have sole ownership of your vision. And the Universe will give you what you want within your vision. What happens with most people is that they muddy their vision with “reality”. Their vision becomes full of not only what they want but what everybody else thinks about what they want, too. Your work is to clarify and purify your vision so that the vibration that you are offering can then be answered.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the workshop in Boston, MA on Sunday, October 11th, 1998 # 614″

This is what was happening (in part) to me this week. I had a vision – to run this marathon that I had trained for this entire year (actually 13 months) but it just as easily can apply to any other goal that we have (you or me). I resisted what others thought about my goal for the year. I got the usual comments (when I even told anyone about it): “you’re too old, aren’t you?”, “that’s an awful lot of work”, “why on earth would you want to do that? It’s so much work.” and on and on and on. So, mostly I just didn’t tell anyone. Because I knew what I wanted. I did NOT want their opinions to get in my way or to even possibly influence me to change my goal – based on what they were saying or thinking. They were NOT inside of me or my head.

It’s worse for many of you that have family and have ideas about your goals that may not be as supportive as you’d like. You have to live with them and try to figure out how to keep the peace and still accomplish what you want.

Our job (and this is where coaching and a support network comes in) is to keep that vision right there in front of us and NOT let anyone cloud it up (muddy it up). If you’ve thought of this idea, this goal, this vision, then know that it definitely is yours. Do you get excited when you think about it? Do you feel alive when you visualize it? Do you just know that it’s yours to do and have? It really is yours if it generates all that enthusiasm, excitement, even love.

Do NOT let anyone else interfere with what you want, no matter what. You will regret it and you will be unfulfilled. Remember that the Universe gave you this idea because it was yours to do.  Do not be concerned if it seems too big or too massive for “little ole you” to accomplish. It came into your mind for a reason and if it came into your mind, then you can do it. Just hold onto that thought. There are many ways to recruit and deploy the necessary resources to accomplish your dream, your vision, your goal – whatever you want to call it. Do not get discouraged before you start. I could have easily given up before I ran a step a year ago. Two years ago this month I could not walk one-tenth of a mile without severe back pain.  So how dare I even contemplate trying to run 26.2 miles? I even allowed my vision to be muddied over the Christmas holidays in 2011 when I started to have some back pain and talked to one of my doctors about it and he said I was too old to be putting that much pounding on my back. For several weeks I “listened” to him – I had his words in my head. But fortunately, my desire to run pushed him away and I got back on track. That is bound to happen to us since we live with other people. But the key thing is to continue to hold the vision so that we can get back on track or not deviate forever. It may be that life circumstances get in the way and we have to change our schedules but we should NEVER give up the dream and vision.

This is why we recommend often that you don’t tell people about your goals and dreams. Human nature is to find something inherently wrong in what you’re after, especially if it’s lofty or will make you very happy. People think they are “helping you” when they are pointing out why you shouldn’t do it or how hard it’s going to be. Don’t let them in. That’s the easiest way to keep your vision from being muddied. Or if you have to let them in, tell them the least amount possible and keep it very generic. It’s your goal and dream, not theirs.

Having a coach is one way to ensure that you’ll not be pushed off your desired path by others. The coach is your coach and will support you, not those with the other opinion. A coach will help you get back on track, nudge you to shake off that mud that’s clouding your vision. Someone who is there for you and with you all the time, supporting you in your goals, helping you continue along the path. It is possible to reach your goals on your own but it’s so much easier and faster if you do it with someone.

All I care about is that you continue with your dream, your vision, your goal. Your path is just that – yours! March down it keeping your head up high and always know that you will get there. It may be postponed (as with my marathon) or it may even come earlier than you think. But the point is, it will come!

What are your dreams? Who is your coach?

Thanks to All of You – I Am Back In The Saddle Again

I wasn’t on the site much yesterday as I tried various ways to “move on”. This a.m. as I came to post a New Day Thought (or a New Thought Day 🙂  ) I saw how many wonderful comments you guys made and my heart was filled with even greater joy and comfort. I  do know what has come from all this and all your support and I intend to surprise you with it in the next week or two – I think you’ll enjoy it. But I have all of you to thank for it! This event, this year and your support has changed my life dramatically – and all for the good. There were obstacles even up to the end (even though it didn’t end – the lack of completion was a big part of it) and there were joys up to the end…but it’s not the end. For something even better has come from it.

Not only do I have you all to thank but as I wrote yesterday, my EFT practitioner (Kay) really got me back in alignment and I am forever indebted to her. She helped me get right about my decision (and the timing was perfect) and she helped me move forward past the resistance I was having that was making me feel “stuck” yesterday. I highly recommend EFT for almost any issue you’re having. She has brought me through the last 2 years and my life has completely changed through using EFT.

I am back in the saddle and ready to go forward – both with my running and my life – and you all will be the ones that benefit from that. Thanks again and stay tuned to see what I have to offer you! Just remember that we all need coaches and you guys have been there helping me (coaching me) and giving back and I am truly grateful and appreciative.

I feel very blessed and honored to be a part of your family!

Mission Statements for Different Roles

Here’s a different concept but one that makes great sense to me.

It’s from Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.

We’ve talked about establishing goals but we never divided up the different parts of our life with mission statements. This might help us with establishing priorities in goals as well as realizing what we are ignoring that we shouldn’t ignore. It also will point out areas that we need to address with more gratitude. It will help you figure out where there is and isn’t balance in your life.

For instance, maybe you’re a boss, a mother, a girlfriend to other women, a church member, a volunteer, a club member, a PTA member, part of your Home Owners Association, a mentor, etc.

List each part of your life as a role.

Write out a mission statement for each of your roles. What are your responsibilities and desires for each of these roles. Be specific (in everything we do, you have to be specific). Then go ahead and see how well you’re “making it” in each role. If you’re not achieving or reaching what you expect, then what can you do about it. For example, right now my life is focused on this computer project at work. We have about 3 weeks to go but then there’s training after it. It’s consuming most of my life. It’s out of balance. What is losing time and attention is my fitness and my dog. However, now that I am back from two weeks in Colorado I am refocusing my life on my dog and the role I have set out for my life with her. This is very basic but hopefully it will give you an idea.

Examine Your Fears – Find More Limiting Beliefs

Another reason we don’t get far in achieving our successes is our fears. Often we are too afraid even to examine our fears.

Refusal to do that however, is a sure way to remain stuck in the same rut we’re in.

But to tell you to examine your fears is one thing. To actually do it is another. Often it’s difficult to do this because it involves being able to know what that success is like. Here’s where your visualization and imagination come into play. Remember that visualization is a vital element in creating your Success List. You have to be able to see yourself with that success in your “hands” so to speak. It has to become yours in your mind before it can become yours in the external world. So part of your job in visualizing this success is to see how your life will change and what will be required of you when you hold that success for real.

Let’s take a few examples:

– Weight loss or getting into shape.

What happens when you lose weight? Well, you get lots of compliments and people pay attention to you. Can you handle all that? Are you good at taking compliments? Do you just prefer to fade into the wallpaper? You’ve probably heard that one reason women gain weight is that they’ve been a victim of some sort of abuse in the past and this is their way of protecting themselves from abuse – they try to make themselves unattractive. So what will happen when they take the weight off?

You’ll have to alter your outfits so that will involve shopping and money. Do you have the money and the desire to get new clothes? Will that involve doing something you’ve never done before? Maybe you don’t have alot of money or your spouse doesn’t want you to spend money on clothes or you feel guilty. Or worse yet, you don’t want to get new clothes because you’re afraid that you’ll gain the weight back. This applies to your having to get rid of your old clothes too. There’s that fear of letting go.

These are all underlying fears and they can all serve to sabotage you if you’re not aware and don’t do the clearing (denials) needed to lay the groundwork for a new you.

– Prosperity

You’ve all heard that a great proportion of people who win the lottery are broke again in a few years (or less). If you’re going to be prosperous, you have to know more – know how to handle money, how to save, invest, properly pay off bills etc. You also have to have the proper demeanor when you are prosperous. You need to wear the right clothes, go to the right places, behave in the right manner, etc. Are you prepared to change? Do you want to change? Do you want to learn the new things you have to learn? If you’re afraid of money because you’ve already had problems with it before, then you’ll shy away from achieving what you really deserve. If you’ve been told that you’re no good with money, you’ll have that belief that has to be changed to.

Maybe you think that all prosperous people are snobs or greedy or something negative and you don’t want to be like that. That’s certainly a fear and/or limiting belief.

– Improved relationships

This is a big one. If you’re looking for a significant other, there are many changes you have to make. Are you happy living with someone or are you someone who prefers to live alone? Do you have enough closet space for another person or are your closets all full of your stuff? If so, the Universe doesn’t believe you have any real intention of having someone else in your house. What about your garage? Is there enough room for another car? Do you like your freedom and are afraid that you won’t have this freedom once someone else comes into your life – you won’t be able to come and go as you please?

Do you have habits that you might have to change if someone else is in your life? For example, do you get up early to do stuff around the house or to go running? Maybe that new person in your life won’t like that. Are you willing to give that up? Or, are you afraid of having to change all your habits? Do you have animals and are afraid that a new person will not tolerate them? Are you afraid because you don’t know how to cook? Or don’t clean things up like others think you should?  Do you have so much stuff that there’s just no room for another person?

There’s so much more to think about that can uncover fears and desires of your own. It’s so important that you look beyond the romantic notion of someone paying attention to you. There’s so many more facets to relationships and you have to anticipate them all and decide if this is really what you want.
