Are You An Out of Sight, Out of Mind Type Person?

I sure hope not. How can sights like this be dismissed so easily from people’s minds. They were prominent forever last year when Haiti was struck by disaster. Why are people ignoring this event?

But I have to tell you that I’m so disappointed that people seem to have already forgotten the horrific experiences that the people in Japan are experiencing right now.  People aren’t talking about it, the news (other than CNN and even they have decreased their coverage) isn’t really talking much about it, the newspapers here in San Antonio anyway, had some info on the front page today (Sunday’s paper) but of course, it was about the nuclear problems, not the human problems (which will get worse if they don’t control the nuclear ones but the articles were more about should we have nuclear plants here).

Have you forgotten this major world event too?

Have you just gone about your own business giving it a “well I’m glad it wasn’t me” thought?

Please take this time to do something to help these people whose lives  have been completely devastated. I can’t even begin to imagine what they are going through now and will be going through for so long. Can you possibly think about having to start all over again? With absolutely NOTHING?

The one thing that everyone CAN do is to start taking stock of their wonderful life and even if you don’t think everything is really great right now, I’ll bet it’s a whole lot better than that of folks in Japan. So, get out your Gratitude Journal or use your Gratitude Journal software and start putting out positive energy into the Universe. The more we take the time to “donate” our positive vibrations, the better things will get for the folks affected by this tragedy.

Just do something….maybe you can donate a few dollars. You are much more blessed than you think. You can reach out and help these people. The banner above gives the link for the American Red Cross but you can donate to any organization you want that will help these people. There are so many organizations – you can go to CNN.com to find some of the common ones that you might feel compelled to work with.

Here are some guidelines though about donating in a crisis time like this (this comes from CNN.com also):

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation advises donors not to respond to any unsolicited incoming emails, but rather go directly to recognized charities and aid organization’s websites, as opposed to following a link to another site.

Before donating, also verify the legitimacy of the nonprofit organizations as well as its nonprofit status.

And be leery of emails claiming to show pictures of the disaster areas in attached files, because those files can contain viruses, the FBI cautioned.”

Can you ignore scenes like these?

Please do something but don’t turn away.

Praise

Praise what you want. Praise what you enjoy. Praise people for the good they bring you. Praise them for the lessons you learn from them so that you may go on to the next step. Praise your family that serve as your teachers. Praise your friends for the good they give you.

Stop “naming” things wrong, or bad, or sick, or hard, or mean, or rotten, or any other damaging name. Use the power of your thoughts, words, and actions to bring out the good in people with who you associate. Help them as well as helping yourself.

You will enjoy the pleasure even more when you see the new people who arecoming into your life are exactly as the praise you have been speaking to others.

Affirmation for Praise
I praise my world and everything in it. I praise my childhood that taught me precious lessons. I praise the people I have known for showing me the way even when I did not want to go. I praise the anger and hurt that removed me from situations that were no longer good for me. I praise the loves and the joys that showed me the potential of what I can always have. I praise the ability to review these situations and people so I may bless and let go of the ones of which I no longer want to be a part. I praise my ability to evaluate the pleasant people and situations so that I may attract and create more of the same blessings that I deserve! I praise my past for having brought me to where I am today. All is well.

Take Your Own Gratitude Challenge

Especially at this time of year you hear about various “challenges” – weight is the most common one, stopping smoking, etc. People challenge themselves to do something. I think of it as a mini-goal. They realize that they haven’t been great in the past at achieving goals (not realizing that it’s probably because they weren’t set correctly – fix that with GoalSetting4You ) so they think if they can break it down into smaller bits, it will work – and you know what? It usually works much better.

Gratitude Will Change Your Life

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States so I felt this post was most pertinent.

Gratitude will change your life!

It’s interesting that as I was getting ready to write this post, I looked an email which had this as the lead in:

“What if we assumed that everything the Universe sent to us was “good” for us…even if we didn’t see it that way at first?

That would mean that everything that happened during our day was something positive, even if we had a negative reaction or interpreted it as “bad” initially. This new assumption would certainly change our energy quickly, wouldn’t it?”

How timely is that  – you know there are NO accidents in the universe.

But I digress. The point of my post today (and should be everyday) is that you must incorporate gratitude and an expression of that gratitude in order to receive the best blessings from the universe. Be grateful for everything and I mean everything even if it doesn’t appear to be something good for you. The reason for this is that everything is what you declare it to be. If you declare something good, it will be good. If you declare something bad, guess what? It will be bad!

I recommend you journal your “gratitudes” as I call them. And an easy way to do that is to download the free software I created called “The Gratitude Journal” – you can get it at http://www.GratitudeTracker.com .

Now downloading it is not enough by itself. You must use it!!! And you must make that use a routine, daily practice. You can’t journal about your gratitude for a few days and then claim that you got nothing in return. That’s not the way it works. You must make this a part of your everyday life. Think about it during the day and jot down what you’re grateful for (there’s a “sticky” in the program that will help those of you who sit at the computer every day).

The universe has to be cared for and you do that by thanking it. Tell the universe how grateful you are for what it’s given you. For instance, today I had to go to a doctor’s appointment and the parking area at the hospital is always totally full. So, realizing this, I started over the weekend saying that I was so grateful for the close parking space I had. I visualized it and lo and behold today I got a great parking space.

Regardless of the return you get, it’s our responsibility to be grateful for all that comes to us. You say thank you to the clerk in a store for doing their job and taking your money. So, why not say thank you to the Universe  for all the good it’s given to you.

Go get your Gratitude Journal now and begin thanking the Universe – today and everyday for every single thing that you received!

Thanks for letting me be here!

Faith & Gratitude…Plus an update

I wanted to let you know how things were going with my little “girl” – Jackie!

Although there were two episodes where I was close to having her euthanized, my specialist vet persisted and kept calming me down telling me not to give up yet.

Lo and behold he found the miracle. She’s on a medicine twice a day and a special diet and she is like a brand new doggie…active, lovable, talkative (in Siberian Husky lingo) and happy.

Needless to say so is “mom” –  every day I express my gratitude that the specialist had the faith to keep on going.

Thanks for all the support and prayers from all the Getting Unstuck, LLC friends and family. I could not have made it without you.
