“Today’s Gratitude” – Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of our Gratitude Month! It’s great to have so many people sharing their “gratitudes” this month. You just need to click on this post title and it will get you to the comment page.

Today think about your life and what wonderful things have happened to you as you’ve grown up through the years – whenever you’re having trouble thinking of something to be grateful for, pick one of them and you’ll open your mind up to see more good happening that day.

So go ahead and post below – see you tomorrow!

Are You “Up” For A Gratitude Month?

I would like to invite you to come with me on an experiment! An experiment in Gratitude. I have deemed this to be a “Gratitude Month”. And It’s starting today, NOT at the beginning of the month like other events do. I want us to do something spontaneously and I had this idea today so I want to start today. Every successful person takes action and takes it now. So let’s start.

Here’s what will happen. Each morning there will be a post titled “Today’s Gratitudes”.  Both you and I will be posting our gratitudes for that day in the comments boxes.  The reason I have to do it like that is because I’m involved in a major project at work and don’t always get to post early in the morning. But I want you all to post whenever you come on and have something you’re grateful for. I will post in the comments along with you guys.

Do NOT wait for something big or gigantic to add your gratitudes. “Little gratitudes” become big ones soon. I will be posting things like “I am so grateful that my dog has lasted 2 years following the passing of her sister and that she survived significant problems with her GI tract and we can go for a walk every day.” That is not earth shattering but you know what? It makes me very happy and excited that I’m able to go out with her. There will also be things like “I got all the green lights today and wasn’t delayed in any way” or “Even though I seemed to hit every red light on the way to work, it allowed me time to say my affirmations”.  We have to show gratititude for everything in our lives – big and small.

So are you up for this? I really hope you’ll participate.

I encourage you to keep a real gratitude journal for at least this month. Once you’re in the habit, you’ll continue and you’ll see your life change dramatically. Make it a  point to look for things you are grateful for each day and make it a point to write about them. If you want to use a software program check out our Gratitude Journal (PC only).

Come along with me and see what happens to you over the next 30 days. Pitch in and see what happens to your friends on this site – even if you’ve never met them.

How To Think Outside YOUR Box…

I imagine you’ve heard the phrase “think outside the box”. I am not really one to be excited about phrases such as this. But this phrase can really take on another meaning that I encourage you to adopt and use more than one time a day. It can be modified to help you remember the meaning and what you’re supposed to do. How does “Think outside your box” sound?

The idea for this modification came as I was walking with my dog and we passed a house that was watering the lawn in the middle of Stage 3 water restrictions. I began to wonder how important a lawn is compared to having water to drink. My mind then immediately ran to images of hurricane Katrina where people were desperate just to get a bottle of water and they guarded one bottle as if it were gold. And you know what? It was gold to them. They couldn’t survive without that bottle of water. The lesson from that one image is that “the box” is different for everyone. So when you tell someone to “think outside the box”, you need to figure out what their box is.

That’s one change to the phrase “think outside your box”. Remember that others may not be thinking on the same wavelength you are. You must define “the box”. If you’re a leader, whether it be a leader in business, in sports, or in your family, define the box before you instruct someone to think outside it.

But there’s another meaning to “think outside your box”. I want you to think about other people and what they need or what their circumstances are. Back to my initial thought about the water restrictions for a second. I wondered what the people in that house thought about when they turned on their sprinklers. Was it “I really want my lawn to look beautiful so that others will think well of me”? Or, “I paid big bucks to put that lawn in, I don’t want it to die because then I’ll have to shell out more money to replace it”? What about “Well, others do it so there’s no problem with my doing it”?

Do you think that just before they hit the sprinkler switch (which is probably automated but had to be changed when the stage of restriction was elevated) they said “maybe I don’t need to water my lawn, it would be better if I saved water today so that someone will have water to drink tomorrow”? Think about others with every move you make and every word you utter. What will the impact of your actions be on others? Many of us are taught, unfortunately, to think only about ourselves and what results our actions will have FOR us. This does not put out the really positive vibrations the Universe wants from us. If you think about our actions and words and the impact they will have on others, I guarantee your behavior will change. Using the water example again – do you let the water run while you brush your teeth? Do you know how much water is wasted when you do that? Estimates are 1 gallon of water. That’s a whole lot of water. What effort is required to turn the faucet off when you don’t need it? Will that help others? Maybe not today but maybe in a few weeks or months. It’s not all about instant gratification even though that’s what we’re after today.

Use “think outside your box” to remind you to practice gratitude every single day in every single way. When you do think outside your own box, you have to think of others and that, by itself will lead you to expressing gratitude for all that is surrounding you. The phrase will also remind you to “do” for others. If you’re outside your box, you have to think of others and what you can do for them. The more you give to others, the more you’ll receive from the Universe.

Remember to “practice what you wish to become”. This is a meaningful quote by Dr. Kunath.

No Matter What Happens Declare It Good

People are prone to thinking the worst about things that happen unless they are perfect. We tend to look at flaws more than we look at the beauty that is mixed with the flaws. You can change your life and your emotional well-being simply by declaring everything that happens good. Let me show you.

No matter what happens simply say “I declare this good, I see the good coming out of it.” Keep saying this over and over and you will soon begin to believe it. Remember that you create your own life and situations. So, if you continue to condemn everything, you will simply get more of the bad stuff. No one really wants that but to respond negatively to things has become our way of life. Look at the News – how much good stuff do they report? Not much. They are simply into “blood and guts”.

Give yourself a little challenge with the news. It is usually best to not watch the news especially while you are training yourself to think and talk differently. But, this is fun to do if you discipline yourself for it. Watch the news one night (this is easier than reading the newspaper but you can use that too). Every “bad” or “doomsday” story they put out should be followed in your head with “That is not my truth. I declare this good and I definitely see the good coming out of it.” See how you feel after you’ve done this for the entire one-half hour or hour show that you’re watching. Your energy level will have soared instead of plummeting.

The Law of Supply and Demand works hand in hand with this technique because it will provide all the supply you need for any demand you have. Look what happened when we first started to experience problems with an oil shortage (or at least rapidly rising prices). The hybrid and electric cars were created. Someone looked at that situation and said “I declare it good” instead of sitting there going “oh no, what are we going to do?”. This has happened all throughout history in medicine and technology and any other field you investigate.

There was once a woman who had been married to a man for over 25 years and eventually found out that he had been cheating on her for the entire time. She was devastated naturally. But her faith got her through the situation and eventually she found the man of her dreams who took care of her in every way she ever wanted – much more than the one she had been married to. Of course, she could have lamented those 25 “wasted” years but that would have done absolutely no good since they can not be retrieved and the negative energy would crack the wonderful good happening in her life now.

Take your time and practice this. Keep at it. No matter what seems bad in your life simply say “I declare it good and I see the good coming out of it” and whenever it comes into your mind trying to bother you, repeat that phrase over and over again until you’re actually smiling. You’ll be amazed at your results.

How Grateful Are You?

ST JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL
==============================

If you’ve read many of my emails and/or my blog posts, you’ll know that I am very passionate about St Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

Giving to St Jude’s is not tithing but it is considered “seed money” and it means that what you give will come back to you magnified many times over.

I would like you to consider giving to St Jude’s Children Hospital today (before 7 p.m. Central time  which is 8 p.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Pacific).

You can  make a difference here:

Why am I doing this? Because I believe it’s important that we show our gratitude to the world – remember that giving out and being grateful is the best way to raise the world’s vibrations positively and that is certainly what we need to do right now!

Can you spare 64 cents a day? What do you spend money on every day? Coffee? Pizza? Popcorn? Latte? Fast Food? The Newspaper? What? Ask yourself what you spend that  money on? Can’t you spare 64 cents a day to help cure cancer? St Jude Chidren’s Research Hospital is doing just that.

Our local country radio station is having their annual (this is the second annual one for San Antonio) which ends today and I would love to see them make a huge difference in this crusade against cancer!

Did you know that they NEVER turn anyone away because they don’t have any money or insurance? Did you know they
do EVERYTHING for the kids and the FAMILY – they are a family and they take you into their family?

I have been there. I have been at that wonderful place and although you’re probably thinking how sad it is, it is NOT a sad place. You see little kids running around with chemotherapy ports hanging out of knapsacks but laughing, running and pulling their little radio flyer wagons with their knapsacks and IVs. It’s a phenomenal experience.

We have all been touched by cancer in some way. This organization is working to conquer all forms of cancer.

So what if you’re not in San Antonio? Why should you donate? Because all the research and findings they have, they share with the rest of the world – yes, the world – St Jude is active throughout the world, not just the United States.

Look at your kids or your grandkids and if they are healthy, be grateful and then click below and become a Partner in Hope for just 64 cents a day.

Do that and help change the world – both as far as cancer is concerned and vibration wise. Contribute this seed money and you will definitely benefit from it much more than the 64 cents a day.

Thank you for helping. This is so important to me.
