You Are What You Think

Thoughtless people sometimes say that our affirmations and meditations are foolish because we state what is not so. “To claim that my body is well or being healed when it is not, is only to tell a lie,” said one distinguished ‘man some years ago.

This is to misunderstand the whole principle. We affirm the harmony that we seek in order to provide the subconscious with a blue print of the work to be done.

When you decide to build a house, you purchase a vacant piece of ground and then your architect prepares drawings of a complete house. Actually, of course, there is no such house on the lot today, but you would not think of saying that the architect was drawing a lie. He is drawing what is to be, in order that it may be. So, we build in thought the conditions that will later come into manifestation on the physi¬cal plane.

To wait for things to “turn up” is foolish, because you will probably die before they do so .. What is your intelligence for if not to be used in building the kind of life that you want? Very primitive men in prehistoric times rejoiced when they found food growing anywhere, and then they waited, perhaps for years, until they happened to find another crop. Today we use our intelligence, and plant in good time the actual crops that we want, and the amount that we consider necessary. We do not sit about hoping that wheat or barley may fortunately come up somewhere. If we did that, civilization would collapse.
The time has come when intelligent men and women must understand the laws of Mind, and plant consciously the crops that they desire; and just as carefully pull up the weeds that they do not want.

The object of treatment is to produce a certain state of mind. That state of mind constitutes a true understanding concerning the problem in question and freedom from fear in connection with it. When this state of mind is attained, the demonstration must and does follow.

Whatever produces the required state of mind is a good treatment. Repeating certain affirmations, reading certain verses in the Bible, using the “Presence Card” or the “Golden Key, or any other “method” of producing that state of mind is a good treatment.

Note, however, that using the affirmations or reading spiritual literature is not an end in itself. It is the uplifted state of mind that is the end. Many sincere Christians have come to mistake the means for the end, and think that praying mechanically or going through certain forms constitutes the spiritual life; but this is not so. The spiritual life is the search for higher states of consciousness and nothing else.

There are NO Accidents in The Universe

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile now you’ll note that I frequently refer to this.

Play a game with yourself – go back over your life and see what’s “accidentally” happened to you and then look at what has come from it. I have a friend who calls this “what if” – like “what if this hadn’t happened…where would I be then?” Try it, you’ll like it and you’ll be amazed at what you find.

I can give you a few examples. I was crushed when I didn’t get into medical school on my first attempt. Since I was four years old I had wanted nothing more than to be a doctor and now that long term life goal had been stymied. I have never been so low in my life. What now? But I went on and kept applying to medical school (I finally got in) but in the interim I developed epilepsy – not the big time convulsions that people have that make epilepsy obvious but the kind where you just stop what you’re doing for a few seconds, lose awareness of what’s around you and then you come to. I had several of these “spells” around other people but no one ever said anything. As it turns out – it was a seizure disorder. Had I started having these spells in medical school I most likely would have either dropped out or flunked out. And no, it would not have made the diagnosis easier because I wouldn’t have gone to see anyone I was so shy. Also, if I had gone to medical school when I thought I was going to go, I would not have become a D.O. and would not have been in the special 3 year program of study. Worse yet, I would not have been as mature as I needed to be to learn and study everything I needed to know – you really must be more mature when you become a doctor.

So, see, that’s 3 wonderful things that resulted from my not getting into medical school.

When I was stationed in San Antonio in the 80s I had been in a relationship and had been “dumped”. I met a friend who was in a similar situation. So we hung out together, especially on Wednesday night. This one Wed she called me and said that she was going to go to this “church” with two of her other friends. She didn’t know if I wanted to go because it was a “New Thought” (whatever that was) church but I was welcome to come along. I sure didn’t want to sit at home alone on another night so I tagged along. Well, as many of you know, my life changed completely from that moment on. That was when I was introduced to New Though (metaphysics) and realized that that was what I had believed for so many years (since I had been introduced to the concept of faith healing 10 years prior while a medical student at Balboa Navy Hospital – another accident?). I would not be sitting here right now if I hadn’t had that broken relationship and found a friend in the civilian community and gone to that ‘strange church’ that night…

There are many more “accidents” in my life – but check out what’s happened in your life and see what you come up with.

Important – My FACEBOOK Account has been hacked

The Terrie Wurzbacher facebook account (and probably the Getting Unstuck fan page as well have been hacked and apparently they are telling people that I’ve been held hostage and people should send money.

This is NOT the truth.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), my account has been disabled so I cannot even get to the page to tell people.

And do you think there’s anything I can do about it….NOT…just fill out these forms…thank you…and not even the “goodbye” you’d get from a phone call.

Who said that Facebook is a good thing?

I’ll post more as I find out what’s happening but wanted to let everyone know I was ok and to not send money for my release.

Good Friday

Not to be sacreligious but to me every Friday is a Good Friday. But, seriously, what does Good Friday mean to you. Remember that in New Thought many of our limiting beliefs come from our religious teachings especially those thrust upon us as children. Take time this weekend to examine what beliefs you still have inside that may be influencing your success (in a positive or a negative way – obviously you want to cultivate the positive ones).

I look at Easter as the “Christ within” rising up and by that I mean that the joy, love, gratitude and power within me raises up and comes forth – it is no longer hidden deep within where it can’t do any good. All these energies and vibrations must be expressed to do good and to multiply. Easter is an “explosion” of sorts for me – more and more of the good and powerful qualities God has instilled in me will burst forth.

What does Good Friday and Easter mean to you? Comment below!
