Key to Results

Prayer is the one thing that can make a change in your life. It matters not what your religion may be, or whether you adhere to none. If you will go direct to God in simple, affirmative prayer, you can heal your body, bring peace and harmony into your life, enlarge your social contacts, and make prosperity a reality.

Of course, those in the Truth teaching already know this, but sometimes discouragement sets in because the demonstration does not come immediately.

Now, if there is one rule we should make in regard to prayer, it is that we must be persistent. Of course, we should always feel that the prayer we are making is the one that will demonstrate, but we should also always be ready to pray again if the demonstration does not.

Persistence in prayer is really only an expression of our abiding faith in God’s love and goodness, for by our persis-tence we are affirming our belief that God does answer prayer.

Persistence in prayer always brings results.

Is Your Spirit Free?

Today’s post is from one of Anne’s previous lessons:

Is Your Spirit Free?

The whole essence of Divine Science is to help each individual locate the spiritual freedom that comes from inside. There comes a time in our lives that we want to truly know that the Spirit of God is truly within.

This is the point when we determine that we will make the changes to find peace of mind, joy, prosperity and all of the aspects that help us to understand that the Spirit of the Christ is within us.

When we begin to claim our spiritual freedom we have a very good result. We quickly begin to see the ideas that help us in having better relationships, in having more fun, in being able to give and receive in new ways. We quickly find ourselves with a sense of peace like we have never had before.

With this in mind how could we not want to declare for our-selves the same thing this country has stood for. We, in America, have come a long way since Columbus landed in giving each individual a way of life that is envied by people all over the world.

The personal freedom that we truly desire can only come through acknowledging first of all our Spiritual Freedom. This comes from accepting the divine spark within every human being that is the light, love, peace and harmony of the world.

Congratulations. I declare for you “You are sons and daugh¬ters of the living God. You are heirs to health, happiness, love, peace of mind, a rich spirit that brings to you the desires of your heart. All is well with you.”

The Meaning Was Suddenly Clear To Me….

Only some of you will understand the example I’m going to give but you all should understand that if you are patient enough, clarity will come to you – and it may come in the most unexpected ways. If we continue to question things, everything gets muddied and we can’t see a clear picture. But if we just have faith that everything is developing as it should, the meaning will come to you eventually.

Here’s what happened. People in the U.S. will know the TV show “House”. At the end of that show just before (or maybe after) the credits, there’s an animation of two guys sitting on the beach and the one says “That’s some bad hat Harry”. The meaning behind that has been an enigma to me since I first started watching the show.

Today I was looking around on the TV and found that “Jaws” was on – you know how old that show is but it’s always been a favorite of mine. It had already started but I tuned in anyway. Just at the point I tuned in guess what happened. The Chief of Police was sitting on the beach with some guy and the first first words I heard were “That’s some bad hat Harry” and the guy with the bad hat had a hat exactly like the cartoon one. Obviously the creators of House really liked Jaws and that expression.

It was such an epiphany for me (as stupid as that sounds) but it showed me clarity and that if I wait for that clarity it will come. How odd was this day for me? It sounds so petty but it showed me so much about my life and my faith.  What’s the probability that I would find the answer to a question that has been perplexing me for so long on a Sunday morning in a very old movie? Pretty small.

Don’t question things and doubt them for long periods of time. Know that you’ll get an answer if you just let it go and sit back and wait for it.

More on The Art of Self-Motivation

The Art of Self-Motivation
Napoleon Hill

The greatest power we human beings have is the power to chose. But to choose, we must make a decision. Decisions are sometimes painful and often difficult. We have inherited instincts, emotions, feelings and tendencies. We develop moods habits and impulses. Even the most logical of us does not act from reason alone. We act on emotions and feelings as well as logic.

One very special thing about us is that we can use both reason and emotion to motivate ourselves at will. But to do so requires a leap of faith. We have to accept as fact that there are powers known and unknown that we can use to our advantage – forces that motivate us.

Motivation is simply defined as that which induces action or determines choice. It is that which provides a motive. Your motives are the inner urges that are yours alone. They are the things within you that incite you to action such as an idea, emotion, desire or impulse. It is the hope or other force which starts you in action in an attempt to produce specific results.

We have complex and often conflicting emotions, but successful people are those who learn to manage them. They overcome a natural tendency to fail by motivating themselves to do something unnatural – to succeed!

If you understand how motivation works in yourself you can go along way toward understanding others. When you can determine what motivates someone else, you will be a better manager because you can inspire your employees to set and reach higher and higher goals.  You will also be a better parent because you will be better equipped to help your children realize their potential, and if you understand what motivates a prospective buyer, you can sell him or her your ideas, your products, or your services.

I imagine you can use anything you can get your hands on about self-motivation in December.
