Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“We would like you to reach the place where you’re not willing to listen to people criticize one another… where you take no satisfaction from somebody being wrong… where it matters to you so much that you feel good, that you are only willing to think positive things about people…you are only willing to look for positive aspects; you are only willing to look for solutions, and you are not willing to beat the drum of all of the problems of the world.” —Abraham Excerpted from the workshop: Cincinnati, OH on September 22, 2004

You know where I started applying this? The most common place it entered in my life – while driving! I was so into complaining about other people’s driving when they did something I didn’t like. But then I’d find myself doing the exact same thing and after awhile when I’d notice this, I’d start to laugh at myself.

Then I would catch myself anytime I started to be critical and I would ask myself “what do I see here? What might that person be going through? Are they under a lot of stress? Is someone sad, sick, even suicidal in their family? I hope they are ok. What else can I learn from what they were just doing?”

These questions defused any criticism I had and turned my thoughts and emotions around completely. I would feel compassion and a connection (unfounded on the surface but I believe there was a connection through the Universal Mind) instead of anger, envy, whatever negative emotion I had been experiencing.

Then I was able to apply this in every other aspect of my life. I’m continuously reminded of the story of the man and 3 kids riding on a train at the holidays. The man was just sitting there oblivious to the fact that his kids were being rambunctious and distracting for the other passengers. Finally one man sat down by him and asked him if he realized his kids were out of control (in a demeaning kind of voice). The father replied “Oh, I’m so sorry. We came from the hospital where their mother just died and I guess they are upset.”

That completely turned the other passenger’s attitude around. He now understood what had been going on. He wasn’t angry or upset any longer now that he realized what happened. Amazing isn’t it how a little bit of knowledge can turn things around in your head.

Take this week to practice the opposite of complaining. Make this week a  week of praise! See how you feel at the end of the week and let us know.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Make more decisions in every day. Because a decision is a summoning of life. That’s why a little chaos is good for you, because often you don’t make a decision until you get yourself in a jam. And then, in the middle of the jam, you make a decision, but that decision summons Life Force. Have you ever been a place where you couldn’t quite make up your mind and you just felt sort of limp? “Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know.” And then you decided, and you felt alive again. We want you to know that you’ll never get it done. So don’t approach this from, “I gotta get on this” because you’re not ever going to get it done, anyway. And the other thing we want you to know is, you cannot get it wrong. So, make a decision. Let it flow.” —Abraham
Excerpted from the workshop: Larkspur, CA on August 16, 1998

This was a very meaningful quote for me. I have found that I lounge around in limbo, not making a decision, not taking action and then I start to feel cruddy because I feel as if I’m not accomplishing anything. That’s when I finally get the kick in the butt and make a decision to do something. Then I really do start to feel alive and the momentum carries me for a long time – as long as I’m continuing to take action and make decisions.

What have you been procrastinating on? What have you been mired in without being able to make a decision? It’s the beginning of the new year. Have you reviewed last year and taken an inventory yet? Do you know where you want to be one year from now? What do you want to accomplish this year?

Decide to make more decisions. Recognize your signs of inactivity and resolve to immediately take action when you realize you’re in one of those “slumps”.

Write about your decision in the comments section to help others.

momentum-monday1“As you proceed in using the Law of Attraction, you will find that it becomes easier and easier to guide your thoughts into ones that benefit your life.” ~Dr. Steve G. Jones

I have found that this is so true. The more I think about the good things that have come into my life, the easier it is to think about good things – and therefore raise my vibrations.

If you cherish every little thing that happens to you and even declare everything good no matter what it seems on the surface, you will attract more and more good to you.

You never know what will come of things so it’s a great idea to be grateful for everything. I remember the run I did the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was a 72 hour run and I was poorly trained due to circumstances left from last summer. It was night and I was having trouble with my vision. So, all in all, it was becoming more difficult for me to stay positive. Then, along came a very nice young man who said “are you Terrie?” I replied that I was. He then told me that one of my blog posts, “Life is like an ultramarathon” really helped him prepare for things and for that race and he was grateful. It’s interesting because I go along and continue to post things but never know if anyone ever reads them. This young man made my whole weekend with just a few words. I’m sure he didn’t realize the impact of saying them but it was a remarkable moment in my life. And if I had not been out there at that point, I would have missed it. I thanked the Universe several times that weekend for that interaction as well as many others.

Refresh your “Kodak moments” for the coming year and whenever you seem to drift away from the good and the gratitude for life, pull them out and focus on one of them. This is sure to lift your vibration and set your momentum back on the path you want – one of positive emanation. That will lead to quicker manifestations and materializations.

Enjoy your week!

momentum-monday1“Within the seed of your desire is everything necessary for it to blossom to fulfillment. And Law of Attraction is the engine that does the work. Your work is just to give it a fertile growing place in order to expand.

—Abraham

Excerpted from the workshop: Albuquerque, NM on May 09, 1999”

You’ve heard me talk about clearing the land before you can start to rebuild. You have to have that land cleared so that you can start with a new foundation and then move on to the rest of your building (home). The land represents your previous limiting beliefs – think of them as the rocks and tree roots that are creating lumps and bumps where you want to start building. If you don’t do something with them, you’ll end up with an uneven terrain and an unstable foundation. So, you have to examine your land (your beliefs) and figure out a  way to remove those that are sticking up or which might undermine the foundation. For example even if you remove what’s above ground, you still have to remove the roots below the surface or more “knobs” will grow above and possibly crack your foundation. There are many ways to clear limiting beliefs. I use both EFT (tapping) and denials to both identify and then clear my limiting beliefs. There are many other ways out there to do the clearing. You have to find something to get to the essence of what you are and then decide what beliefs you still choose to entertain and which you find no longer serve you.

Once you’ve done this and then decided what it is you want (your seed of desire), the Law of Attraction will power you right to where you want to go! Just focus on what you want in a way that is NOT focusing on lack. For instance, if you focus on wanting $10,000 to pay off your bills, you are really focusing on the lack of money you have (the fact that you have debt and owe money). You then set yourself up to be more in debt. Focus on that $10,000 for the good it will do for you and for others when you are paying those bills – you’re paying their salaries and that’s a good thing. Focus on being prosperous and having $10,000 and being free to do whatever you want with it. Feel that rich and prosperous warmth and glow within you. Really feel it. That will set up your vibration and make it ready to take off! Start your Engines – the Law of Attraction in action!

momentum-monday1“Start telling a better-feeling story about the things that are important to you. Do not write your story like a factual documentary, weighing all the pros and cons of your experience, but instead tell the uplifting, fanciful, magical story of the wonder of your own life and watch what happens. It will feel like magic as your life begins to transform right before yours eyes, but it is not by magic. It is by the power of the Laws of the Universe and your deliberate alignment with those Laws.

—Abraham….Excerpted from the workshop: Money and the Law of Attraction on August 31, 2008”

This week you should pick some story that could have both ups and downs and then write the story using only the UPs – the great things. As Abraham says, make it magical. I know which story I’m going to use and I actually have two.

Start writing the basics of the story but then add on to it as the days go by. Embellishment is OK because you’re not going to be showing this to anyone and you’re not going to be telling the story – unless, of course, you are going to use it as an example of what you’re studying. But my advice is not to tell anyone. Get yourself a little notebook and keep your stories in it. There are software journal programs that you can write your story in also.

Try it and see how magical you can make it. Then watch to see what happens in your life.

Let us know what happens in about a month.
