Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Make peace with outrageous abundance. You are more likely to have a pure vibration and attract more abundance if you leave money out of the equation. But it isn’t because money is the “root of all evil.” It’s because it messes up your vibration, usually.” ~Abraham [Excerpted from the workshop: San Francisco, CA on February 27, 2005]

This is a great follow-on to last week’s Momentum Monday. People often criticize us for talking so much about prosperity and abundance. That always tells me something about the complainer, though. If they have a narrow view and see the words prosperity and abundance as meaning only money, then their thoughts in life are narrow and they could benefit from expanding their view and concept of these words. Both prosperity and abundance apply to every aspect of your life – health, peace of mind, friendship, love, happiness, spirituality, wealth (not just monetary) and any other aspect of your life.

The best way to embrace these concepts is by considering it all as abundance (and as Abraham says, make it “outrageous” abundance). Go into a quiet place and listen to your body when you say or think the words “outrageous abundance”. If there seems to be something negative, try the word “abundance” by itself and see if it’s that or the “outrageous” part. Practice visualizing abundance in your life in the easiest way you can imagine – it might be love or friends or it might be health or anything else. Find whatever will give you the best vibration. Work on that feeling and try to then move it over to another aspect of your life. Take your time and go slowly. Try to see if you can remember things you were taught when you were a child regarding these aspects – see if you can identify any limiting beliefs. Once you’re aware of them, then see if you think they are still valid or just have stayed in there because you haven’t paid attention to them previously. Taking everything slowly is the key to seeing what each of these beliefs means in your life.

You really do deserve abundance and can have it!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“When people ask us how long does it take for something to manifest, we say, ‘It takes as long as it takes you to release the resistance. Could be 30 years, could be 40 years, could be 50 years, could be a week. Could be tomorrow afternoon.’
—Abraham” Excerpted from the workshop: Cleveland, OH on July 11, 2000

We’ve talked about this before but it never hurts to repeat it. This is the difference between manifestation and materialization. You manifest something as soon as you’ve thought it and put feeling and vibration into it. But materialization requires that you’re willing to accept it into your life and you’ve stopped checking the mailbox every day to see if it’s  come – or changing your order constantly so that the delivery cannot be made.  Materialization is when what you have desired actually shows up in your life.

Doubt and hesitation are both forms of resistance. Feeling unworthy and not deserving are also resistance. You have to examine your beliefs and see if you feel unworthy or as if you have to “do something” in order to deserve to have what you’ve asked for. Discover (or uncover) what other thoughts and feelings might be keeping your order from showing up at your door!

Try to place your order and let it go, knowing that it will come to you. Always remember the law of gestation though. An Acorn could wish with all it’s might to be an oak tree tomorrow and if the gestation period hasn’t elapsed, it’s not going to happen. If you’re unemployed or making $20,000 a year, the probability of you being able to quickly and easily accept the fact that you can make a million dollars a year is not high. You certainly can set smaller and quicker goals so that your subconscious will put forth less resistance in accepting a newer income. Work your way up by accepting and embracing the smaller goals. Once you’ve reached the first increment, then you can move up to the second and so on. It works much better that way.

Try all of this and see what happens!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“The standard of success in life isn’t the things. It isn’t the money or the stuff — it is absolutely the amount of joy you feel.”
—Abraham Excerpted from the workshop: Lincroft, NJ on October 15, 1996

This concept is vital to your enjoyment of life. Did you know that you can feel so very good when you’re just imagining or visualizing a result (or even the process) and haven’t even attempted it yet! Isn’t that pretty cool? I think it is and I can tell you it’s a definite truth. I have used this with my ultra running events and have felt terrific as I’ve crossed the finish line for a 100 mile event while lying in my bed doing my visualization. The actual event might even be a let down if I’ve done the visualization correctly.

You can enjoy being a millionaire even before you make anywhere near that much money. You can feel just as if you had it in your bank account by knowing how you want to feel and how you will behave and think when it happens. In actuality, it doesn’t even really matter if it ever does occur if you’ve been thoroughly enjoying the process of feeling your way there.

The more you have these joyful feelings, the more you’re going to bring what it is you’re thinking about into your life. How would you feel if you had a million dollars? Write it down. Savor it. Write yourself a story about what you’d do and how you’d feel while doing it. I know that I have my own vision of what I’d do if I either had a million dollars or won the lottery and there is very little in this world that would make me feel as good as doing those things would. So, thinking about doing those things puts a smile on my face and makes me very happy and warm inside. Of course it would be great to actually have the million or the lottery but I can get great feelings and thoughts just by pretending I have it. Those feelings improve my health and happiness without having even one more penny in my pocket.

Practice this. Think about what you want and then “pretend” you already are there and have achieved whatever it is. How are you feeling? Are you smiling? Is your body feeling better? Let us know what’s happening in your life when you try this.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Cravings are going to occur to you. So here’s the rule of thumb about eating, or about investing in the stock market, or about anything else: If the impulse comes from a joyous thought that feels good, follow it. If the impulse comes from an uncomfortable thought that felt bad, don’t follow it.”
—Abraham
Excerpted from the workshop: Portland, OR on July 13, 2002

On the surface, this seems very simple. But….

The hard part is identifying whether there was a uncomfortable thought leading  to the craving. That requires that you slow down enough to allow yourself to notice what it was that led to your current feeling or desire.

One of my current themes is to slow down and smell the roses. So this saying of Abraham’s comes at the perfect time.

We are so conditioned to think of something like a “craving” as a negative. There’s too much black and white in our culture today. I’m also learning that most things are NOT either good or bad (which implies a moral judgment) but that is such a falsehood. If you consume or feel something in excess and to the exclusion of other aspects of your life, then maybe it could be considered “bad” but its mere existence does not make it bad.

Take food cravings for instance. It also depends on how you define craving but if you were dehydrated or just finished a race or endurance athletic event and were craving water, would that be a bad thing? Heck no. It would be healthy and it’s a positive reflex in the body to have this “craving”.  The “impulse” for the water did not come from a thought that felt bad at all. So, according to Abraham (and I agree) it’s good to follow it. But let’s say you decided to satisfy your thirst by guzzling alcohol….ask yourself what your thought was that led to the desire to quench your thirst with booze. How did that thought feel?

Remember that it’s all about your feelings.

Spend time this week slowing down and paying attention to what’s behind any of your actions or impulsive desires. Keep track in your journal (you can use your gratitude journal to record things like this too you know).

Have a great week!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“There is nothing that you’re wanting to know that you do not have the capacity to understand fully. And there is nothing that you’re wanting to know that the Universe does not already know that you want to know, and has already begun the process of answering. And so, go forth in excited anticipation that the new ideas will continue to bubble forth, and that the Universal Forces will continue to come forth in loving, benevolent, eternal answering to that which you are about. —Abraham [Excerpted from the workshop: Albany, NY on October 01, 2001]

This follows along with last week’s Momentum Monday. The Universe knows what you want and it has already started to create it for you. It’s in the warehouse ready  for delivery. Use “Show me” in order to understand things that you want to understand better. Go back over the Spiritual Laws and find the ones that help you find a way to understand all that you want to know about. Read the Law of Circulation and the Law of Realization.

Just know that anything you’ve asked for in your mind has already been manifested and rejoice in that fact! Be excited, anticipate its arrival but be happy in its existence in your imagination. Remember the POWs that used to get through all those years of torture and isolation by going deep within their minds and finding beauty there. This got them through it all. Use your mind for something other than worrying. Use it for joyous thoughts and ideas.

Journal about these things. If you’ve imagined a car you want, journal about riding in it with the new car smell, the windows open and the wind blowing in your hair, etc.

Let us know how things are going.
