Your World

I had this concept hammered into my head this past week. It’s so important to simply do something. I am an expert at procrastination – I think I should say I HAVE BEEN an expert at procrastination and I CHOOSE to change that right now.

I was impressed with how much action I need to take but also impressed with the results that may occur when I stop procrastinating.  I can sit and watch life go by or I can spend my time doing things that are profitable to me. I’m not just talking about profitable in regards to money but I mean profitable in everything in life – relationships, love, happiness, fitness etc. ANYTHING that I would like to have more of is something I will work at.

What are you going to do to shape your own world? Or are you just going to sit around and let things happen around you? I’m not. Join me in making a change today! Let me know what you’re going to do?

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1                                    when you feel like quittingI think this is a great saying for all of us to remember at any point when we are having second thoughts about something.

If you started whatever you’re doing for a good reason, then there’s still that reason and it should propel you to keep going. Ask yourself what it was that made you start this project and why was it important to you.

Then it’s legitimate to ask “is that original reason still valid?” If not, then you might want to consider deep-sixing the entire thing. But if it’s still an important reason and you still feel strongly about it, then ask yourself what it is that’s holding you back or making you want to quit. Has it become difficult (or more difficult than you anticipated)? If your reason is still important to you, then you can certainly overcome “difficult” – maybe you just need a different approach. Or maybe even just take a short break to regroup. But if it’s still important to you, you really do not want to quit.

I’m pretty sure I wrote about wanting to quit my July race at 298 miles (with only 16 to go). People do not believe me when I say that I would have been at peace with that and was at peace if my crew had let me quit. I would not have had regrets and would not have second guessed myself. I had had 4 1/2 days to think through this even though it hadn’t been something I wanted to do at that point. But remember I was doing these 4 1/2 days on fractured feet (I didn’t know that – I just knew that they hurt like the dickens). So I had had plenty of time to think about it all. I had made peace with myself and was extremely happy with what I had already done so I could live with it.

But with the publicity seminar I’m going to this week, things are different. I wanted to quit but it was simply out of fear. I realized this yesterday. The reason I wanted to go was still valid. I was just afraid. That helped me regroup and reset.

Try it and see what happen.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Appreciation and love, and alignment to that which is Source, is the ultimate “giving back,” so to speak, for in your pain or struggle, you have nothing to give back. What you are living is always an exact replication of your vibrational patterns of thought. Nothing could be more fair than life as you are living it, for as you are thinking, you are vibrating, and as you are vibrating, you are attracting—and so you are always getting back the essence of what you are giving.”  ~Abraham [Excerpted from the workshop: Money and the Law of Attraction on August 31, 2008]

This is kind of funny. Although I do not believe there are coincidences or accidents, things like this always make me chuckle as I reaffirm that statement. I had this Momentum Monday planned a long time ago. But I wrote yesterday’s post yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I came to the site to write more on this Momentum Monday and saw the exact same concept worded differently.

I love the phrase from Abraham “for in your pain or struggle, you have nothing to give back”. This is so very true. When you’re feeling down in the dumps or trying to deal with the negative things going on in your life, you really don’t have anything left to give to others. It’s hard to reach down deep inside to be there for others when you’re having pain.

But, if you are able to or at least try to get yourself to a point where you can make someone else smile or laugh or ask them how they are (if they seem a bit down themselves), you will find that a) you forget for at least a few minutes about your own difficulties and b) your vibration raises to some degree. Remember that it’s a matter of momentum; so, if you can begin to change your vibration, you’ve begun to improve your momentum and in an upward swing. Let’s say you then go find another person (whether it’s in person or email or by text) to inquire about their health or well-being. That will up your momentum and vibration a bit more. You’ll notice that you begin to feel better too. It almost becomes addictive because you feel better and like that feeling so you want to do more of what makes you feel like that – isn’t that what most addictions are about?

Hopefully you won’t be in this situation this week but if you’re not as happy as you’d like, try to reach out to others and see what happens. Let us all know how it went and what you did.

Have a great week!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“You don’t have to go back and deal with childhood issues, because those childhood issues produced a vibration within you that you are still offering — which is producing today issues. You can shift your vibration a whole lot easier when you’re dealing with today issues, than trying to deal with childhood issues. It’s the same vibration. That vibration that was creating childhood issues, now it’s creating today issues. Deal with it in your now. “Which thought feels better? Which thought feels better? Which thought feels better?” ~Abraham [Excerpted from the workshop: San Diego, CA on July 31, 1999]

It’s funny that this came up after my post from yesterday (I think it was yesterday) talking about my fear of change coming from my childhood. The difference, though, is that I’m not going back to “deal with” the childhood issues, just identifying why I am so afraid of change – that is my current adult vibration and that’s what I want to correct.

This is so important for all those who want to spend time analyzing their childhood and it’s effect on the present. When you do that, especially if you’re doing it with another person (counselor, friend, clergy person, relative, etc), you are reliving it and therefore the vibrations (usually fear, anger, resentment, shame – a biggee, guilt etc) will recur and take over your current vibration. You don’t want that at all. You want to create your good vibrations right now and from here on out. Childhood emotions and reactions are self-centered (that is the function and protection inherent in a child) and as children we think everything bad is our fault. Thus the guilt and there is often shame as well. You don’t want those emotions to persist throughout your life. If you don’t release them and work to improve your vibrations, you will continue to exist within those lower vibrations of guilt, resentment, shame, anger, etc.

If you do “go back” to your childhood, get what you need and get back out again. Look at it as a cave that you want to visit and leave as soon as possible. Get the information about the event and then return to your adult state!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Fear only exists when you do not understand that you have the power to project thought and that the Universe will respond.” ~Abraham [Excerpted from the workshop: Boca Raton, FL on January 11, 1997]

You can use this as a reminder any time things aren’t going the way you’d like them to or whenever you’re afraid of your current circumstances. I love this! It means you really do have control of much more in your life than you realize. If you can conquer fear by just changing your thoughts, then think about the power you have! Think about what dramatic changes you can make in your life.

The key here is to make certain that you can remember this thought any time you start to feel the fear – fear of anything.

Then you have to make sure you’re projecting the correct thoughts to the Universe. This means that you want to phrase your thoughts correctly. If you say “I am no longer in debt”, you are still focused on debt. Instead you want to say “I am prosperous, I have paid off everything I owe AND with an abundance of money remaining” and say it with feeling.

This may seem difficult to do when you’re experiencing fear but that’s why remembering that you can control this feeling and bring the Universe back to your side needs to be done as soon as possible. The longer you experience a feeling (whether it’s fear or joy), the more vibration it generates, the more momentum it gathers and the harder it is to turn around.  I start reversing activity as soon as I start thinking that nudging thought that leads to fear. If you watch TV (I don’t because I don’t want to be constantly fighting the negativity and its effects on my subconscious mind), and you see an article about crime in your area, you may start to worry about whether you locked your doors and windows and whether that’s sufficient security, etc. As soon as any of those thoughts start to roam around in your brain, change your thoughts and partner with the Universe – “I live in a wonderfully safe location and house and am protected by the Universe”. Say this and other positive thoughts you have over and over again until you no longer feel the fear in your gut.

Repetition is key to this. You repeat the positive thoughts as many times as necessary to lessen your anxiety. Use this phrase too and edit it to fill in the appropriate parts for yourself and your situation – “Nothing and nobody can interfere with my health, well-being, peace of mind and prosperity, not even myself!” Make sure that you include that last part because most often it is ourselves that keep us from achieving what we set out to.

Try these techniques next time you are starting to feel fear.
