More On Affirmations

You will sometimes find that, when you have used the law of command and have not yet gotten the desired results, perhaps you have been too gentle in your use of words. Trying to use gentle methods on glaring, ungentle appearances of poverty and failure is as ineffective as trying to speak English to a Frenchman who does not understand English. There is no communication or contact made.

One doctor had been trying to prove that God was the source of her supply for about two years. It was finally revealed to her that she had not used the law of command. She had not made the positive  assertion of prosperity. She then began affirming “It is done. God is now manifested as my supply.” This thought proved to be her deliverance from poverty and never again did she have a financial need that was not met.

Most of us have been human pygmies when we might have been spiritual giants, had we dared to command God’s good to manifest as He empowered us to do.

Merely knowing about the power of prosperous thinking is not enough. You must put it into action. The daily use of positive statements help you to do that.

It is good to have at least one other person use the power of affirmative command with you, especially when situations do not seem to respond immediately to your own commands. Be sure that it is someone that is in agreement with you, with what you are trying to accomplish and that that person believes in the same techniques as you.

Catherine Ponder and her secretary often affirmed for the perfect results of their work day “This is at time of Divine completion, the finished works of Divine Love and wisdom appears this day.”

She and her bookkeeper affirmed for her financial ministry “This is a time of Divine completion. The finished results of Divine substance and supply now appear.”

She and her board of directors would affirm for the entire ministry “God’s kingdom is come and God’s supreme good will is now done in every phase of this ministry.” (You can change that to “family”, “relationships”, “marriage”, “business”, etc)

Again, I urge you to try this.

Affirmations Are Helpful To Your Work

A railroad employee was asked to repair an engine that no one had been able to fix yet. Although he was initially apprehensive, he remembered the Law of Command.  Before he began to work on the engine he went to a quiet place and read this a number of times “I am a mature child of the Living God, therefore I am one with his wisdom. That wisdom now leads me in paths of righteousness, peace and true success.” Amazingly he was able to go right to work and repaired the engine easily and quickly.

A postal employee had to take an efficiency test. Instead of allowing fear to rule him, he decided to take control over the situation.  He declared over and over “Divine Intelligence now shows me all I need to know.” He passed the test easily.

What I have found from using these types of affirmations over and over again is that they take the edge off, remove the fear by putting your mind on saying the affirmations. Whenever I start to think of a problem or a worry, I immediately stop myself and go into the one affirmation that works the best for me for general situations “Nothing and Nobody interferes with the achievement of my goals, my achievements, my peace of mind and my financial desires, not even myself.” It is important to put that last part in so that you will command the Universe to prevent you from sabotaging yourself.

Catherine Ponder reports that she’s never known a student to fail if they conscientiously follow the method of daily affirmations and command for even a short time. But, likewise, she has never known a student to really succeed if he omitted the daily use of verbal and silent declarations of command. Those folks often think that it is “beneath them” to say definite prosperous statements and definite words of success for 15 minutes each day – although they did not find it beneath them to speak definite words of hard times, lack and financial difficulty the rest of the day; nor did they find it beneath them to live in indebtedness and financial embarrassment.

You can take your choice and follow whichever road you wish. A mind that has been steeped in poverty and failure thinking for years, needs daily help in rising into richer thoughts, attitudes and expectations. Often it takes special methods to bring results in the face of extreme circumstances. If saying words of success and prosperity seems an unusual method, then so be it. But go ahead and try it, if you wish to change the tide of your thinking from poverty and failure to prosperity and success.

In the midst of extraordinary experiences, you will often find it necessary to exert a little added effort to produce satisfactory results.

Command Your Good To Appear

Although there are hundreds of affirmative statements you can use that will command good to appear, you should use definite declaration of command to meet definite needs.

For example: if your money supply is low or if your wallet seems empty, take it in your hands and declare aloud a number of times (in privacy, of course) “I bless you and bless you for the riches of God that are no being demonstrated in and through you”.

As you enjoy your meals, it is good to think statements of blessing and appreciation for them.

When you dress, it is good to think thoughts of appreciation and blessing for your clothing.  “I give thanks that i am beautifully and appropriately clothed with the rich substance of God.”

For the perfect, beautiful, comfortable home “I give thanks that i am beautifully and appropriately housed with the rich substance of God.”

For the perfect transportation which every prosperous thinker should have “I give thanks that I am beautifully and appropriately transported with the rich substance of God.”

How about “I give thanks for ever-increasing health, youth, and beauty.”

Tape these around your house. The one about clothes can go on your closet door. The one about health and beauty can go in the mirror in your bathroom. Put on your pantry door “I rejoice in the bounty of God, constantly manifesting as overflowing supply here and now.”

Does this ring true – to keep down unnecessary phone calls which can be a real waste of time put this near your telephone “Divine order is now established and maintained. Harmony reigns supreme.”

It is good to begin the day with affirmative statements which help you gain control of your day. Try this “With praise and thanksgiving, I set the riches of God before me this day to guide, govern, protect and prosper me. All things needful are now provided. My rich good becomes visible today!”

Speak words of prosperity and success each day – this is a form of commanding it come forth – “My words are charged with prospering power.”

For increased income “I give thanks that my financial income now increases mightily through the direct action of God’s rich good.”

For the payment of bills, indebtedness, and financial obligations “I give thanks for the immediate, complete payment of all financial obligations, in God’s own wonderful way.”

For increase success along all lines “I give thanks that every day in every way I am growing richer and richer.”

Business people find this helpful for harmony in their homes and businesses “Let there be peace within my walls and prosperity within my palaces.”

Affirmations will only make your day better if done correctly. So, see what happens. Catherine Ponder’s words may sound old school but they work. I could change them to sound more modern but why mess with success.

Affirmations Are a Form of Command

The daily practice of verbal and silent affirmation is the simplest way of invoking the law of command to create good. In fact, the use of affirmations is such a simple way of bringing forth rich results that many people mistrust it, looking for a more complicated path to prosperity.

The word “affirm” means “to make firm”. Through verbally affirming or declaring the good you want, rather than continuing to talk about what you don’t want, you begin to make firm in the mind and in the invisible ethers the good you desire. as you continue to affirm the desired good, it rushes forth as a visible result.

Never ever under estimate  the power of your words. You make your world with your words. If you don’t like the world you previously made with words of discord, lack, limitation and hard times, you can begin building a new world of limitless good and prosperity by changing your words of command.

Try taking affirmative statements that meet your needs and declare them over and over verbally for at least 15 minutes or perhaps for 5 minutes three times a day (you can even break that down more by doing a set of affirmations at a stoplight or in traffic or while walking from the parking lot to the store etc – that will help keep them in your mind more). If you can’t say them aloud, write them out dozens of times.

One general but effective affirmation is: “I love the highest and best in all people. I now draw to myself the highest and best people” – this could mean customers, clients, patients, friends, etc.

Or this: “Everything and everybody prospers me now and I prosper everything and everybody now.”

What do you have to lose by trying these two simple affirmations. I can tell you that repeated use of affirmations will make a difference in your life.

Remember though, that we are not advocating that you ONLY do affirmations. Although they will make a difference in your life, there are many other aspects as we’ve covered in the past few weeks that will open your mind to receive what you are affirming.

Do me a favor – just say these for a few weeks. See what happens. Let me know.

You Command Through Words

You are currently using the Law of Command – you are constantly making decrees. Often they are the wrong kind of decrees, producing what you do not want.

There was a businessman who continually had problems with his right arm and it befuddled the doctors. What they didn’t know (and probably wouldn’t have put together anyway) was that the man was always saying “I’d give my right arm if I could…..”

Most of our problems can be traced to our thoughtless remarks.

Do your feet bother you? Do you say “If I could only get on my feet…..”?

Another woman was deaf in one ear – her favorite expression was “I’m going to turn a deaf ear to that” for things that she didn’t want to hear.

Consider using this test on your words before you utter them:

Is it true?
Is it kind?
Is it needful?

Even if something is true, if it is not kind then it definitely is not needful.

Catherine Ponder wrote that she found that 99 out 100 times people did not solve their problems until they not only knew but fully used the law of command. You must daily, consciously and deliberately assert the good you want.

Today take some time to look at your words – write them down as you go through the day, then take a look at the list tonight and see what it reveals about you.
