“Today’s Gratitude” – Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of our Gratitude Month! It’s great to have so many people sharing their “gratitudes” this month. You just need to click on this post title and it will get you to the comment page.

Today think about your life and what wonderful things have happened to you as you’ve grown up through the years – whenever you’re having trouble thinking of something to be grateful for, pick one of them and you’ll open your mind up to see more good happening that day.

So go ahead and post below – see you tomorrow!

Are You “Up” For A Gratitude Month?

I would like to invite you to come with me on an experiment! An experiment in Gratitude. I have deemed this to be a “Gratitude Month”. And It’s starting today, NOT at the beginning of the month like other events do. I want us to do something spontaneously and I had this idea today so I want to start today. Every successful person takes action and takes it now. So let’s start.

Here’s what will happen. Each morning there will be a post titled “Today’s Gratitudes”.  Both you and I will be posting our gratitudes for that day in the comments boxes.  The reason I have to do it like that is because I’m involved in a major project at work and don’t always get to post early in the morning. But I want you all to post whenever you come on and have something you’re grateful for. I will post in the comments along with you guys.

Do NOT wait for something big or gigantic to add your gratitudes. “Little gratitudes” become big ones soon. I will be posting things like “I am so grateful that my dog has lasted 2 years following the passing of her sister and that she survived significant problems with her GI tract and we can go for a walk every day.” That is not earth shattering but you know what? It makes me very happy and excited that I’m able to go out with her. There will also be things like “I got all the green lights today and wasn’t delayed in any way” or “Even though I seemed to hit every red light on the way to work, it allowed me time to say my affirmations”.  We have to show gratititude for everything in our lives – big and small.

So are you up for this? I really hope you’ll participate.

I encourage you to keep a real gratitude journal for at least this month. Once you’re in the habit, you’ll continue and you’ll see your life change dramatically. Make it a  point to look for things you are grateful for each day and make it a point to write about them. If you want to use a software program check out our Gratitude Journal (PC only).

Come along with me and see what happens to you over the next 30 days. Pitch in and see what happens to your friends on this site – even if you’ve never met them.

How To Turn A Lousy Day Into A Much Better One

Have you had those days where nothing seems to go right and you’re sure it’s a full moon? We all have experienced those days. Two things can happen. You can continue in the downward spiral toward a really, really bad day. Another option would be to make the most of what has happened and improve the day. Make that your mantra “Improve the Day” – we’ve all heard “seize the day”. We want to change it to improve our own day..and our life.

The primary reason you want to do this is so that you’ll not perpetuate the bad. You know that the Law of Attraction says “like attracts like”. You do not want the bad you’re dwelling on (as we all do) to attract more bad. You want to nip it in the bud and turn your day – and your life – around.

What’s the best way to deal with all that has happened on this day from you know where? Begin by declaring it good. Simply say “I declare it good. I see the good coming out of it and know that it will enrich my life more than I ever could have expected.” You can use any other affirmation that makes you feel good and tack it on to the end of “I declare it good and see the good coming out of this day”.

You want to do this with everything that happens in your life, no matter how small and no matter how bad things may seem. Don’t worry that you feel hypocritical or that you will be struck down for lying. If you say it often enough and with enough emotion, your subconscious mind will definitely believe it. Then, after you’ve had experiences like this several times, you won’t have to even think that you are trying to persuade your subconscious. By that time, you and it will have seen the good and know that that is the best way to deal with negative things.

What do you do if nothing good happens? First, you don’t say “see I knew it wasn’t going to work”. The reason for that is because you do not have any idea what timeline the Universe is on to bring you the good. Also, the good may be relative. I have a perfect example. When I was working in D.C. I lived 60 miles south of Washington, D.C. and had to travel on Interstate 95 which has horrible traffic. One day we had a sudden snow storm and I kept asking my boss if I could leave early to avoid the mess that was bound to occur in that storm. He wouldn’t let me go because we were in a meeting. I was upset. Then I remembered what I should do and kept saying “I declare it good and see the good coming out of it”. Of course there was doubt inside of me when it took me 8 hours to get home that day. But I kept saying “I declare it good”. And you know what? There had been a 100 car accident on the interstate (the reason for the long commute – no one could travel on the Interstate). If I had left when I wanted, there was a strong probability that I would have either been in that pile-up or stuck immediately behind it and been stranded in the cold for a much longer period of time. See how the “good” was relative. Yes, it took me 8 hours to get home but I got home safely and might not have had I left when I wanted.

The other thing you can do instead of sitting there trying to identify the good is to simply forget it and know that the Universe will actually bring you good. Because it will whether you ever see it or not. If you look back over your life, I imagine you’ll be able to see times when things happened that you couldn’t figure out but then you looked at the entire situation and had gratitude that things turned out the way they did. This could be regarding a relationship, a job, an event, or just about anything. Declare it good and it will be good.

This is just one of the hints discussed in The Art of Making Things Happen. Changing your life is within your power. You are not a victim and you are the one in control. You simply need to do some inner work to find out what has been holding you back. Then you can change it. Check out more about this self-study course at The Art of Making Things Happen.

How The Circle of Influence Concept Applies To The Law Of Attraction

Have you heard of Stephen Covey’s concept of Circle of Concern and Circle of Influence (from “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”)? This is a great way to focus your efforts when working with the Law of Attraction. The Circle of Concern contains all those things of interest to us essentially. It includes everything that happens in the economy, at the PTA, what others do at work, etc. The Circle of Influence is within the Circle of Concern. However, it contains those things about which we can do something. Let’s see how that applies to the Law of Attraction.

The Circle of Influence is where you actually have influence on things. You can change your life by concentrating on what’s in your Circle of Influence. When you veer outside of that circle and start talking about or worrying about everything in your Circle of Concern, your focus is dissipated and the energy you need to put on to things and events you can change is also spread around. It’s like trying to light a fire on a desert island by hoping the sun will find the right branch and then it will light on fire.

On that island, you stand a much better chance of starting a fire by using a magnifying glass (or your own eyeglasses as you’ve seen in the movies). That glass pulls the energy of the sun and compresses it down to one single area of concentration where it can point all its heat and start your fire.

Working with the Law of Attraction is similar. Remember that the Law of Attraction is always working – whether you’re aware of it or not or whether you believe in it or not. Many people think they are “working” it but they flounder around from thinking ‘this’ to thinking ‘that’ depending on the day or on their moods. That is why we teach that you have to identify your own goals and then define them in tremendous detail. That way you have impressed your subconscious mind with exactly what you want.

Once you’ve embedded this goal in your mind, your primary job is to continue to focus on achieving it and never waver from this focus. How do you do that? Well, you concentrate on the things that are within your Circle of Influence, NOT those that are outside of this circle. Being overly concerned and obsessed with things in your Circle of Concern will keep your energy and vibrations from pouring out to the Universe like a spotlight. If you stay within that circle where you actually have control of what happens, you will be able to bring about your desires and do so more quickly. For this is the location where you have influence and control.

Apply focus in everything you do. Stay within your Circle of Influence and let things happen as they will within your Circle of Concern. Do everything you can to ensure that your Circle of Influence is powerful and positive to set the stage for the Law of Attraction to work to your advantage.

This is only a taste of the Law of Attraction. Did you know that the Law of Attraction is only one of many universal laws that control our lives? Find out how to create the life you want. Visit The Art of Making Things Happen.

How To Identify and Deal With Divine Discontent

There’s a phrase that we use in knowing when it’s time for you to stretch. That phrase is, “It’s caused divine discontent.” Divine discontent is what you feel when you get that urge of boredom. “Things are not happening. It’s time to move on. I’m not happy here. There’s something missing in my life.”

Divine discontent. Remember these words. That means that you’re not reaching your potential. There’s something else for you to do. It could be anything from a change of job to a new opportunity to adding hobbies or developing something in another way.

Your soul pushes you and nudges you to always be greater than you are, to reach out a little bit more, to do a little bit more.

If you get to a point that you’re feeling like, I believe it was Rosemary Clooney that said, “Is that all there is?” that we constantly think about life. “Is that all there is? I’m going to be like this for the rest of my life? Do I really want to do that? Is that all there is?”

It’s also when you’re thinking that there is a possibility you can’t get ahead. It’s not going to work. You don’t like where you are. You don’t like the people.

Start asking yourself what is it about where you are at the moment that is nudging you. It will usually have something to do with your need to be adding a little bit more to your life experiences, to give you either greater authority in where you are or to have an experience in life like you’ve never had before. To know that there’s more to life than where you are right this minute and to say, “What is it? Where can I go from here?”

If you don’t stretch yourselves, you reach a point where all of a sudden even though you’re doing everything right, you’re just sort of bored where you are, and then chaos happens. The unexpected that you don’t want happens.

All of a sudden you’re in a place where you wonder, “How in the world? What did I do to create this situation?” If you reach a point like that, you do denials. “This is not my truth.” Go back to denials always at a point when chaos is occurring, because something in you has accepted this for some reason. You again say your denials.

Go back to some of the ones that you have used. “This is not my reality. I don’t choose to have that in my life. I refuse to have chaos in my life. Whatever is coming up, if it’s lack of some sort, this is not mine to do. It’s not mine to be. I remove it. I dissolve it. I get rid of it. I let it go.”

Tell the Universe that your next step is here and now, so that you can move through this and get to the next part very quickly and very easily.

How do you know that you’re right at the point of a new level of receiving? Well, that’s the divine discontent that you feel. That’s something there that you’re not reaching for. Your soul is saying, “I really would like to have a new step here.” Remember that life comes to us through steps.

“I’m ready for the next step of my divine plan, which is greater health, happiness and prosperity.”

Your divine plan is to be happy, healthy, whole, prosperous, complete in all ways, able to manifest and do and give and share all that you want to give, do and share. That is your divine plan. To find out more about how to create the life you want check out The Art of Making Things Happen.
