Your choices of action may be limited—but your choices of thought are not.

Remember this short sentence this week! It’s so powerful. This is what has gotten many POWs through their long periods of captivity – knowing that they can think whatever they choose to think even if they are confined to a very small space.

I would bet that you’re not confined to that small a space right now. I would also bet that sometimes thoughts pop into your head and you just let them sit there and continue on even if they aren’t generating the nice feelings you would like to have right now. Remember that you can control and change those thoughts. Pull from your memory (your Kodak Moments) or create new memories – write your beautiful story in your head.

For example, two weeks before my Tennessee race I dragged my weary body out the door to do a run after doing back to back long runs 2 days prior. I didn’t want to be out there but I had to be. So, instead of thinking about how much I didn’t want to be there, I changed my thoughts to how great it was going to feel when I was doing the event since I had prepared so well. I immediately had more energy whereas I was just barely able to lift my feet a few minutes before. The power of your thoughts is phenomenal.  The better part is that YOU can control them and you are the King or Queen of your own thoughts.

So, now what are you going to do about this. Even if things seem down and out externally, you can still feel good and think other thoughts that make you feel better. Once you start to feel better, your vibration raises and your momentum starts going in the direction you want it to. Then, lo and behold, you will be much more capable of finding solutions rather than focusing on problems.

This week just remember that YOU ARE IN CONTROL! Stop yourself then restart yourself.  Put the thoughts you want into your head. Try it for this week and see where it gets you. Let us know in the comment box.

Momentum Monday

You cannot judge the value of a life by its quantity. It is by the joy that you are feeling. The more joyful you are, the longer you live. Let yourself relax and breathe and be free and be joyous, and romp. The optimum physical life experience is to have plenty of things that stimulate you to desire, and an awareness of the way you feel, so you’re reaching for thoughts that feel good—so you’re wide open, so you’re tuned in, tapped in, and turned on. We promise you, the timing of your death is always chosen by you.

Joy is really the aim in life. You always hear about the poorest person in the world also being the happiest.  It’s not really about the items and everything that surrounds you. It’s about the joy you experience. And that Joy can’t be dependent on someone else either. For instance, it can’t be “I’m experiencing joy because I love Joe”.  You can always tap into the joy you have inside. That’s another of the “Kodak moments” I talk about all the time.

The most ideal form of joy is that which you feel “knowing” you have an item but it hasn’t materialized yet. Remember there is a difference between manifestation (which happens when you think about something and have told the Universe you want that thing) and materialization (which is when it actually shows up in your life as an object/thing). The greatest joy is when, once you’ve manifested something (given the Universe your order), feeling the joy that you experience knowing it’s yours – BEFORE it even shows up.

Try it this week. Be joyful whenever you think of having something. Give appreciation/Gratitude to the Universe for bringing it to you even before the physical materialization. In that appreciation and gratitude experience the beautiful joy you have knowing that you’ve asked and it’s been delivered. Don’t second guess the fact that it hasn’t materialized yet. Just accept that it’s on its way

Write and dialogue about this concept and your results this week.

tumblr_mr7bdsqhMT1qitvdso1_400You’ve heard “Don’t worry, be happy”?

That’s truer than you realize even though it seems very simplistic and “cute”.

This week try catching yourself whenever you start to worry. Pull up one of your “Kodak Moments” we’ve been creating (or recalling) over the past several months. Stop that worry in its tracks. But, since sometimes people have difficulty letting go of things, remind yourself that you’re just doing this for “today” or “this week” if you’re brave. Remember it’s one step at a time. Take this the same way.

But look at what this picture is telling you – why would you want to destroy any possible  happiness you can be having today by worrying about something that might not happen. It most likely WILL happen though, if you continue to focus on it (that’s the Law of Attraction working quite well in your life even if you don’t believe it is).

So, by not worrying today you accomplish at least two things. You divert your emotions/vibrations from the “lack” that you were going to worry about and possibly prevent it from coming. You also ruin your vibrations for right now and get your momentum started in the wrong direction. By the time you’re realizing it, your car will be at the bottom of the hill and the momentum will NOT be able to be stopped. Try stopping it at the top of the hill. Then you can change the direction of your momentum easily. That’s what we’re aiming for when we want you to stop worrying about tomorrow as soon as you recognize that’s what you’re doing.

Try it, you’ll like it. Let us know how it’s going or ask questions about the best way to do this.

Life is Like An Ultramarathon

stick_figure_running_icon_400_clr_3621Boy is this a great post for me right now. As you may remember, I’m training for a massive ultramarathon – 314 miles across the state of Tennessee. Last week for the first time I finally began to question whether or not I could actually do this event.  I still do not know the answer to that question.

People think life is a sprint and if something doesn’t work right away, they think it’s never going to work. This is one of the most common reasons people refute the Law of Attraction and say it doesn’t work. They feel that it should work right away as soon as they say an affirmation, think some positive thoughts or so something else. Without understanding the nature of the Law and how it works, they think that if they don’t get what they think they want right away, the Law either doesn’t work or doesn’t work for them. But they don’t realize that they really haven’t changed their feelings or emotions sufficiently to get the Universe moving their desire toward them. Remember that the steps are #1) Ask – you do that constantly through contrast – you find out what you want by identifying what you don’t want, #2) The Universe delivers – once you’ve asked, the Universe provides it for you. You have manifested your desire. But remember that manifestation and materialization are different things and materialization depends on Step #3) Allowing. This is where we have the most trouble. We have to consistently be in a space where our vibrations (emotions) will allow the gift that the Universe has created for us to come into our lives.

Step 3 is where the life is like an ultramarathon comes in. You can’t expect to go directly from  a life of thinking about poverty or lack immediately into a life of amazing prosperity and abundance. Our vibrations, emotions and beliefs don’t change that quickly. When you do a sprint you are simply focused on a fast time and perhaps winning, not on any changes. When you participate in an ultramarathon, there is more concentration on completing the distance even if there’s not a large amount of speed involved. You learn more about yourself because you have time to think about your life and you have time to make changes in your strategy. Maybe you have to go slower or even take a break. You might have to stop and eat something or get more fluids. Anything can change in an ultramarathon. It’s the distance that counts and that involves understanding yourself and your environment and being prepared to handle anything that comes along. It’s a problem solving adventure. You bring what you have learned in life and in training into the event but you also know that anything can happen and to be successful, you have to be able to roll with the punches.

Be patient. Remember the Law of Gestation. You don’t plant corn and then every day yell at the ground and kick it up because it hasn’t produced an ear yet. You know it’s going to take a certain amount of time and you are patient. Same with a baby – you don’t expect to find out you’re pregnant today and then be upset that the baby hasn’t been delivered tomorrow. If you can understand that the Law of Attraction also works with the Law of Gestation and you have to continue to water and feed your desire without stirring up the dirt around it, it will blossom in its time. The most effective method is to plant your desire, increase your vibration to the point where you really do “know” it will come to you and then let it go!

I told you last week or the week before that what you give out comes back to you. I proved this again to myself this past week. I had given money to someone in much greater need and given it freely and without any expectations or attachments.  Then this past week I finally got around to going to the bank to deposit my old IRS return. I hadn’t even opened it because I “knew” how much it was for. Well, I got  into the car and started to fill out the deposit slip, slit open the envelope and started to laugh. The check was for the exact amount I had given my friend.  The exact amount! Can you believe that? I am always amazed at how the law works. That check had gestated on my desk for a very long time and then it was there to replace what I had given out. How much more evidence do you need?

You just have to take your time. You have to let things happen all the while NOT giving up on your practice of the Law. Do NOT lower your vibration by thinking “nuts, I knew it wouldn’t work”, “It’s not going to work because I don’t deserve anything good to happen”, “Why does it work for everyone else except me”. And worse yet, do not move back into your lack thinking. Because if you do, you will simply attract more lack. That is probably the hardest part. For instance, when you receive another bill, write on it and bless it. Thank it for coming to remind you of the prosperity that is yours and that the Universe is delivering to you. View that bill as a demonstration of you having plenty of money that you are so happy to pay it because you know you are helping others out there that will benefit from the income you are providing them when you pay the bill. Never look at it as “how on earth am I going to pay this?”, “see, I knew I was not going to be prosperous”, “how can I possibly be prosperous when I keep getting bills.” Think of this as you being the employer for all who have contributed service or labor leading to this statement of wealth in your hands. It’s really all about how you look (and feel) at/about your circumstances.

Try to turn all your negative thoughts around.  Start with traffic lights – call them “Go lights” as Zig Ziglar does – he says they are there to make your travel go smoother and safer. Don’t think of them as “Stop lights” – try this for a few days.

Change another word and see what a difference it makes. Instead of “have to” or “I’ve got to” do something, catch yourself and say “I get to do something.” I made a conscious effort every morning when I said goodbye to my dog. In the past I had said “I’ve got to go to work now”. Then I changed it to either “I get to go to work now” or “I am going to work now”. I eliminated any of the sensations/thoughts/feelings associated with the “have to” statement. Because you know what? I really didn’t have to go to work. I could have quit. But I was fortunate to have the job (and still am very fortunate) and so I changed my attitude to express the appreciation I have for the job. It made a great deal of difference in my outlook and I could even feel my vibrations soar when I changed that wording.

Try one or two of these things. Start training now for your ultramarathon. It won’t be over in a few minutes, days or even months. Lay the groundwork (the base training) and practice until it becomes habit for you.

Let me know how it’s going and if you have any questions. Put them in the comment box!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1Start your week off right!

I have had to really practice what I preach last week. And it was not easy. The Friday before my momentum had plummeted downward because I let something at work affect me. I should have just accepted it and moved on but I chose the harder way. Perhaps I made that choice so I could see how out of sorts it made me feel – so I could value positive momentum more. I don’t know why I chose that path but it pretty much continued the whole week and I was NOT on a high-flying disc.

So, yesterday while on a miserable 20 mile run (things just didn’t feel right from the moment I opened the door and saw the rain), I made up my mind that I had let that momentum run out and that I was going to start on a new path this week. I started on the run and began to look at things that were along the way and notice how beautiful they were and what they represented (nature, invention, progress, love, convenience, etc). I kept repeating one of my mantras – I control my mood. That is such a great thought – there really is something I can control (and you can too). Look at the Prisoners of War who survived years of captivity and torture. It was all about their attitude and mood.

I am happy to be here and be able to do the things I want to do and I know I’m very blessed. Who knows what the next moment will bring. I am making every attempt to “live in the moment”, to live in the “now” as much as I can. That has become so important to me. It’s no longer all about the ultimate outcome, but about the journey. I’ve always “known” that intellectually but now I realize it is the way to live. Enjoy everything that happens (even the bad momentum happenings).

I know I’ve been on this kick for awhile but the last 7 months of my life have brought it to the forefront of my life and I want to live every moment in joy. Even on “miserable” training runs. I can count my blessings and know what those blessings have given me.

Join me in this new adventure. Don’t shoot for the moon but enjoy feeling whatever and wherever you are right this minute.
