What You Give Out Is What You Get Back

BoomerangWhat a delightful day today was. Every month for the past 10 years I’ve had a pest service. San Antonio is one buggy place and bugs are NOT my favorite living beings.

I’ve had the pleasure of having three different guys service my property over this period of time. The first guy was very knowledgeable but unbelievably negative. I got to the point where I dreaded the day the pest man came to my house every month. Even when I tried to avoid discussing anything with him, he would follow me around telling me his troubles and woes. I even did something I don’t normally do. I gave him one of my “As a Man Thinketh” books and talked to him about it. It was like talking to my Siberian Husky though. She was as stubborn as this man was.

Finally after about 7 or 8 years he left the company and went to another job. At that point I got to know one of the sons of the manager. Nick was such a joy and was always happy and pleasant and full of life and joy, no matter what happened. It was terrific and I looked forward to his visit every month. But, Nick wanted to serve so he joined the Army about 7 months ago.

Next on the list was his older brother Andrew, another charming reflection of his dad.  Nick, Andrew and their dad are wonderful people and always joyful no matter what else might be going on in their lives. I am honored to know them.

Today Nick graduated from his school in the Army and will be going to Ft Hood (near home). Andrew was more talkative than ever and it was such a refreshing experience chatting with him. He told me how he always meant to serve the people whose houses he visited. That he looked on his job as one that was to make folks feel good, not for him to make a million dollars. He talked about all the things he had taught his little brother, Nick and had tried to show him what was important in life to look at. As he talked, I noticed that he kept referring to what people “do” or what they “are”, never about what they “had”. That is the mark of a true human being – even at his young age, he recognized that the important thing in life is what’s inside a person and what you reflect outwards to try to help other people, NOT what you achieve.

Even though he didn’t know it, he was emanating an extremely high vibration and was on those high flying discs (his momentum was phenomenal and as he talked, you could actually see the 68 second rule in action – even without him knowing it). He smiled, was animated and kept talking about the good he could do other people just by being friendly and looking to extract the good about any circumstance that you run into. We then talked about Russell H. Conwell’s “Acres of Diamonds” – a man was very happy and content with what he had until he learned of the existence of something called a diamond. At that point, the man became despondent and felt poor – although nothing had actually changed in his life. He wanted to be “rich” by finding diamonds. So he left his home and his family in search of richness (diamonds), only to never find any and subsequently ended his life.  The man who took over his property was digging in the ground one day and found a diamond  – right under his nose. This turned out to be the most proliferative diamond mind ever. Riches were right under this other man’s nose – right there for him to look at. Don’t look elsewhere. Find the gold and riches in your life as it is right now.

One way you do that is by giving out what you wish to receive. But don’t give out joy and pleasure “just so” you can get it back. You have to blossom with happiness, goodness and joy for the sake of those qualities and what they will do for another person. If you make it your goal to serve others and treat them well, you will have it made in life. Think about just saying hi to someone, just smiling, just waving to people even if you don’t know them. You never know what’s going on in someone’s life that you might be helping them. You might even save them from ending their life if they realize that there are people out there that care. Can you imagine how wonderful that would be?

Make your vibration and your momentum be a boomerang. Send forth goodness and it will definitely return to you.

What good thing, no matter how small, can you do today? Tell us about it in the comment box below. What gold is in your life that is covered up? What can you find in your own backyard? Look where you are and love where you are!

If you need anything, just let us know, too.

“What separates people that get what they want out of life from those people who do not get what they want out of life is their response to challenges.”
Dr. Steven G. Jones

Although I don’t believe this is the only thing that separates these two groups of people, it’s an extremely important point.

Think about yourself and how you respond to a challenge. Do you crawl up in a ball and want to die? Sometimes that’s ok initially. What’s not productive is when that behavior or thought process continues on and on and on. Do you get mad and decide that this is not going to beat you? That you’ll find a way to conquer the challenge, to climb up and over whatever obstacle is in your way? That is the way of the warrior, the person who excels at life.

Remember that there are two different vibrations at play when you are confronted with a problem. There is the vibration of the problem and if you continue to think about the “problem”, you will stay on that lower vibration and not move anywhere – you are focusing on the problem so that is what you’ll get more of. Maybe the problem won’t get worse but it won’t get any better either when your vibration remains on the problem.

You have to raise your vibration to the level of the solution – a much higher vibration. Instead of thinking about and focusing on the problem, concentrate on the solution. Tell the Universe you are ready to receive the answer and you know that it’s out there waiting to be delivered to you.

Think back to your past and think about when you’ve discovered a solution to something – what have you felt like when you’ve been in the process? Maybe take a look at a time at work when a problem has been identified. Everyone might respond with “oh nuts, what do we do now?” But then you all got your heads together and brainstormed until you figured it out. What kind of elation did you all feel? Use that as  “Kodak Moment” to elevate your vibration when you’re after a solution to your current problem.

I don’t even use the word problem once I’ve identified what it is. I think about how great it’s going to be when I come up with the solution to x, y, z – describing the situation if I must. Or preferably I use something that’s brief but objectively describes the situation. Then I go right back to looking for the solutions – opening my heart and mind to the Universe to deliver the answer to me.  I use some of the processes we’ve talked about – the 68 second process, rampage of appreciation and even the “wouldn’t it be nice if….”.  If you’re skeptical or it’s the first time, you can use “I’m in the process of….”

Next time you come across a challenge, immediately switch to the solution seeking mode and your vibration will automatically elevate with you! Try it, you’ll like it. Don’t dwell on the problem.  Move out and move up!

The Stop Sign Says “Stop” NOT “Roll”

stop-not-roll-1What? What’s this all about? Does Terrie have a traffic sign fetish? No but the traffic metaphors have been very helpful in explaining life’s happenings in metaphysics.

The Stop Sign is a perfect example. Right there in front of us are those four letters – S.T.O.P. “Stop” means a cessation of movement or operation. When the sign says STOP, it means come to an end or cease to happen. Ceasing to happen means not moving any more when we’re talking about a vehicle.

So why do we insist on “rolling” through the stop sign? Do we think the sign says or actually means “roll through me”? No, we fail to appreciate the meaning of the word STOP and we have interpreted this “rule” the way we choose to interpret it.  That’s always dangerous – when we make our own interpretation of the rules. Are you saying that your interpretation is the correct one and that everyone should follow your example? What if you feel it’s ok to roll through the stop sign at 5 miles per hour? What if the next person sees you roll through it but can’t tell your speed? So they think it’s ok to roll through at 15 mph.  Then a few minutes later another car comes along that yesterday rolled through at 10 mph and had no problem and didn’t see any other traffic coming so that person now feels it’s ok to roll through at 25 miles an hour. Do you see how this can blossom into a total mess? Why even have the sign there? It must have been placed for some reason? What was that reason? Was it to facilitate people moving through an intersection? Was it to protect pedestrians trying to cross the road? What was the reason? We don’t know do we?

Why do we have this temptation to make our own rules? Do we think we know more than the officials? Do we think we know more than those who “rolled through” before? Do we definitely think we know more than the person who actually stops at the sign? What’s your answer? Do we think it’s ok “because” you see no one else at the intersection or no pedestrians? Are there different conditions for which you think this rule should apply?

Do you think these questions are stupid? If so, think about them. How many have ever crossed your mind and dictated your actions.

Of course this post is a follow-on to the one earlier this week where I talked about the Universal Laws are not made to be broken even though many people feel that rules are made to be broken.

The Universe doesn’t really care if you break the rules. What it does care about is delivering what you are asking for. So, if you are only following the rules (rolling through the sign) some of the time, then you will not receive what it is you really want. You will receive what you’re putting your attention on.  You can try thinking you’re prosperous a lot of the time but if you spend any significant time and gather momentum from thinking about all the bills you have and how you’ll never get them paid off, then your prosperity will continue to be at bay.  You will not get the prosperity because a large portion of the time you are focusing on the lack of it (rolling through the sign instead of obeying the rules).

Do you obey the traffic signs? Do you text while you drive? Do you go through stop signs or traffic lights if no one’s there and there’s no sign of police? What other examples can you think of. Let us know in the comment box below.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1Today we celebrate Memorial Day in the United States. I find it intriguing that we have all these “days” and “weeks” and even “months” that memorialize or remember something. We have a “week for this” and a “week for that” or a “month for a disease”.

In some respects that’s good but in other ways we end up paying too much attention to the thing we’re trying to eradicate or “cure”. By focusing on something, we are sure to get more of it. Is that what we want? Do we want more colon cancer, more ALS, more diabetes, etc? I realize that this is blasphemy and I’m not advocating elimination of these events. However, if we could find a way to emphasize the positive, the health and well-being instead of the disease it would be so much more effective.

When we celebrate Memorial Day we do it well. We remember the lives of heroes and do profess that all those who have served in the military are heroes. This is a good thing. We want more heroes. We don’t bemoan how they died, what tragic circumstances they experienced, how bad they had it, etc. We talk about the good qualities of a hero, of a courageous person who so selflessly gave their all for their country. The more we focus on the courage and selflessness, the more we’ll draw that into our lives – either in ourselves or by drawing people into our life who have these characteristics.

Try this today for a change. Celebrate someone in your life who has exhibited tremendous courage in some way. Does someone you know have to work two jobs (or more?) and takes care of their family at the same time? Is someone striving courageously to combat a disease and the medicine to treat that disease? It doesn’t have to be something big even. For example, I saw multiple examples of selflessness and courage during my recent 3 day run. “Oh that’s too trivial and not important in real life” you may be thinking. But, that’s not true. The persistence, love for others and dedication that you see as they are running day and night for 3 days is simply a snapshot of what their entire life is like. So what you see on a run, is most likely what you get every single day. Celebrate and honor these folks today.

  • Make a list of people that are influential in your life somehow. This could be your boss, your coworkers, friends, family, others with whom you associate.
  • Write down the characteristics you see that you really respect. Consider even those you wish you had more of.
  • Take a few minutes to sit quietly and send them positive love and energy to help them in whatever way they might need. Even if you don’t think they need anything specific, everyone can always use an energy boost.
  • Focus on their qualities. Run a movie in your mind about what you’ve seen and what you love about them.
  • Thank the Universe for bringing these people into your life because your life will never be the same again.

Now enjoy the BBQ!

Take a moment to tell us what you’ve learned doing this simple exercise.

The YOUniverse

youniverse With all the talk we’ve done about vibrations and momentum, it’s so important to realize that EVERYTHING in your life is centered around YOU. That’s why you should think of your surroundings as your YOUniverse.

No, this is NOT selfish but it is self-centered. Most people have a negative reaction to that phrase too – self-centered. But, if you understand the Law of Attraction and the fact that you create everything in your life, you will realize that this requires self-centeredness (is that a word?).

However, this concept is also the most generous and giving there is. Because if you get your own momentum going in the direction you wish (some call it positive although there really is no positive and negative when it comes to emotions) and your vibrations are elevated, you will be doing more for those around you than you can by taking conscious actions.

When you create your world, it’s so important that you focus on the things that make you feel good. Focusing on them will bring more of that good feeling into your life. Remember that you only have to “Ask” the Universe once for something. Then move on to raising your vibration and getting yourself in the right space (vibration) to accept what you have asked for. That 3rd step is the hardest part for us humans. We “ask” all the time – any time we think about something for more than 17 seconds we’ve essentially asked for more of it.  After we’ve asked, the Universe immediately provides it – but what happened? It sure hasn’t appeared as a physical manifestation in your life. So does that mean it doesn’t work? No, it means two things, one of which we should be very grateful for – we cannot immediately manifest things in our life – there is the Law of Gestation which means that things come into your life when the time is right. Dr. Kunath used to use a great example in her own  life. When her kids were little she recognized one day how grateful she was that she didn’t immediately manifest what she said. She found herself looking out the door and seeing her kids playing on top of the neighbor’s roof. She screamed at them “Get down from there – you’re going to fall and break your neck”. At that moment she realized that we needed much more Divine Wisdom to be able to immediately manifest. Otherwise some of the really stupid things we say would actually come true. She also gave a presentation at one of the big international conferences on “Oops, what do you do when you get what you asked for”.  Something to think about for sure. Thank goodness for the requirement for 68 seconds of focus (concentrating on something for a series of 4 consecutive 17 second periods puts the Universe into action bringing you what you’ve asked for). Most people can’t (or don’t) focus on one thing for that long.

The second implication from not receiving what we ask for (or so it seems) is even more important. We must “Allow” the physical manifestation to come into our life.  Many times this is because we’ve been taught that we shouldn’t ask for things or 1236855_603864969656204_580817517_nthat we have to deserve something or earn something.  We have all sorts of limiting beliefs – beliefs that keep us from accepting that we are deserving, we are worthy of receiving what we’ve asked for.  That’s where the vibration/emotions and momentum comes into play. Concentrating on your YOUniverse and how you feel and think and act with the express purpose of being at the highest vibration possible while generating and maintaining momentum on a higher plane will put you in a space where you allow the Universe to bring you what you asked for. Remember my analogy of placing your order (asking), the company fulfills and ships the order (the Universe gives you what you’ve asked for). The shipper is at your front door but if you don’t answer the door or open it to receive what you’ve ordered, you will continually think that your order has not been filled. And you’ll get disappointed, discouraged and disbelieving.

It’s so important for you to work on realizing that what you have in your life is something you’ve asked for at another time in your life. Make a list of the good and bad things that you’ve experienced and see if at some point in the past you hadn’t been concerned or focused on something of that nature.

Being positive, by itself, won’t work. You can say affirmations all day long (and I’m a big believer in affirmations), but if you haven’t cleared the land of your limiting beliefs (especially the self-worth and deserving beliefs), you will blocking the good from coming into your life. For example, you can say affirmations in the morning and the evening but if all day long, you’re thinking about those bills you can’t pay, that is what’s prominent in your vibrations and feelings. As such, you’ve spent much more time on the not having enough money to pay your bills, that you will receive more and more of that as long as you continue thinking that way.

This is why my YOUniversal phrases are (I know I repeat them a lot but they have gotten me out of trouble so many times that I can’t say them enough):

“That is not my truth”

“Nothing and nobody can interfere with my prosperity, well-being and peace of mind, not even myself!”

And say them with emphasis. Keep saying them until your fear or anxiety level has significantly decreased and you can focus on one of your “Kodak Moments” stored in the album in your mind – mine is always running related and it works!

Concentrating on your life will bring you all you need to provide the love and kindness for others that you really want to. You hear all the time that you have to love yourself before you can love others. That applies in every aspect of your life.

Start working more in your YOUniverse and remember the 17 second rule (four periods of focusing for 17 seconds will get you to 68 seconds and that is essential for bringing the manifestation into your life).
