Avoid Hard Times Talk

We’ve mentioned this before but it cannot be emphasized enough.

Do not think, talk or act in any way but prosperously. Don’t allow others to talk to you in any way but prosperously. Don’t read or take anything seriously  that is printed or said that seems contrary to prosperous thinking. If you mix up your trend of thought, you set up cross-currents that neutralize your efforts of prosperity. This is so important. Let’s say you’re working to become prosperous financially. But later in the day you have some difficulty with someone at work and start muttering about that person and his/her bad qualities. Then you go home and perhaps your spouse hasn’t done something you asked him/her to. So you “go off” on your spouse. You have just negated much of the wonderful prosperous thinking you did earlier in the day. You cannot compartmentalize positive and negative – it’s an all or nothing package and you have to act and think in an entire all or nothing package.

You should not become upset when people talk hard times. Neither should you join in their hard luck stories unless you want bad fortune to come upon you.

Remember the phrase in your arsenal – “That is not my truth! My truth is that I am always lavishly prosperous and I have everything I ever wanted”

Think Upon “Plenty” Ideas

Remember what Charles Fillmore taught “The spiritual substance from which comes all visible wealth is never depleted. It is right with you all the time and responds to your faith in it and your demands upon it. The unfailing resource is always ready to give. Pour your living words of faith into the omnipresent ethers and you will be prospered though all the banks in the world close their doors. Turn the great energy of your thinking upon “plenty”  ideas and you will have plenty regardless of what men about your are saying or doing.” (From “Prosperity” by Charles Fillmore”

Try this “There’s plenty of money in the world; there’s plenty of wealth; and there are plenty of wealthy resources to be developed and tapped. I refuse to believe in anything but wealth and prosperity for myself and for all mankind.”

Concentrate your thoughts, feelings, relationships and activities on prosperity, NOT failure or lack. Expect to become prosperous; start thinking and speaking in those terms and no others. Remind yourself often that scattered, idle thoughts, words and expectations bring scattered, idle, poverty-stricken results.

Give Others The Thought Of Increase

More from yesterday’s topic of increase.

You should convey the impression of increase with everything you do, so that all people will receive that rich impression. Whether writing, telephoning, thinking about meeting others, give your family, social acquaintances, business acquaintances, friends, world leaders – everyone – the thought of increased good.

When speaking of someone, speak in terms of their success only. If you know of someone who has been making a comeback from past mistakes, contribute to making his unfolding success by ignoring his past and emphasizing only his present good. Not only will you add to his increased good but you can be assured the skeletons on your own closet will be rattled less. I don’t know about you but this might be the most difficult thing for me to do especially if there is just that one person that gets “on your nerves”. But I have to continue to remind myself of this!

Give Yourself Thought of Increase

Give yourself an equal thought of increase. You can do it just by feeling that you are becoming more successful and that you are helping others to do so too. Every act, tone and look should express a quiet, rich assurance of success. You don’t need words of success to convince others of that success. You’ll get that feeling of richness implanted in your mind. It then radiates from you and subconsciously communicated to others. You’ll find that everyone will want to be associated with you. They will be able to sense your successful vibrations.

As you work quietly to get that feeling of richness, success and prosperity you’ll draw to you prosperity minded people you’ve never even seen before – people who will become your customers, business associates and friends. You will be surrounded by an atmosphere of increase. Also as you give the thought of increase to others, they are automatically attracted to you.

Try to invoke the law of increase in every way – large and small. A woman helped her husband out of financial doldrums but saying to him every day when he returned home from work “Now, tell me every GOOD thing that happened today.” They were both surprised to see how much good came to pass and how much they had to be thankful for.

This is also where daily use of the Gratitude Journal is so important. Do you have your copy of the Gratitude Journal?

You Always Use The Law of Increase or Decrease

Normal people (you and me) are seeking an increase in what we call the basic staples – food, clothing, better homes, knowledge, time, pleasure, luxury, satisfaction etc – more increase in everything. This is normal and should not be condemned or suppressed.

When people criticize, condemn or belittle others, they do not realized that through the law of mind action, they are asking for the same things to happen to them. Never waste your time giving yourself or others the thought of decrease. What you send out comes back to you multiplied and it will produce corresponding experiences in your life.

Do NOT talk of bad times and do not allow those around you to do the same – walk away if you cannot change their topics of discussion. Do NOT think about bad times no matter what is happening – declare “That is not my truth; my truth is lavish riches and prosperity in all aspects of my life”.

You can invoke the law of increase in simple ways. You should speak the law of increase about yourself and others boldly and positively. Look and act out the law of increase and image and affirm rich increase. Although this may seem foolish and nearly impossible to do (I can hear the naysayers as I type), I can tell you that it makes a big difference in your outcome. I used a similar technique to prevent me from worrying (and thus worsening the situation) over a major life situation I was facing – something I had not experienced before. I had an affirmation I used every time I started to think of it in a negative way. I really did come out of it smelling like a rose! So, I am not just preaching it, I’m practicing it too.

If we are using the law of decrease then we’re only delaying our own prosperity. If you use the law of decrease and limit your good, you are never satisfied with the limited result. This applies to our feelings of self-worth too. I was living the law of decrease by not stepping out and taking chances because I was “too shy” and “people wouldn’t like me” and “what do I have to offer anyone”. Well, the 30 day Blog challenge I participated in got me to step out and try things I had never done before and go beyond my comfort zone. And you know what? Using that law of increase rather than the law of decrease (sitting back like a scaredy cat) let my life unfold before me in a way that I never believed would happen.  It really does work.

The Prosperity Law of Increase

You’ve heard people say you have to “act as if”? If not, then let me introduce you to one of the most important parts of achieving prosperity – Acting as if.

You are now beginning to believe you are a prosperous thinker (this is assuming you’ve been through our previous posts and lessons on the “Dynamic Laws of Prosperity” – Catherine Ponder’s glorious work).

First you have to establish and maintain an attitude of rich increase toward EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY! Let your main thought, when thinking of yourself and others, be the thought of riches, prosperity, great good and success. Believe it or not, just by thinking these things you CAN make it so.

Give others your benefit of rich and successful thoughts – this will help them become that way even if they are not consciously aware of what you’re doing.

One example that Catherine Ponder gave was of a man who was  credit manager collecting overdue accounts. He used this concept of seeing the good and richness in others and he led in collections for the entire company which had offices all over the south. On one customer who owed thousands of dollars he said to the officials of the company “the only way we will collect all this money is by being kind, courteous and positive in talking to him. We’ve got to restore some faith in himself; we’ve got to show him that we believe he will soon be able to pay this amount in full. Criticism will get us nowhere.” After they did that the man turned his life around and instead of declaring bankruptcy he was able to begin paying back the money he owed.
