Your Dreams and Where on the Emotional Scale You Are..

Part of planning to achieve your dreams is to specify what, exactly, they are. We talked about that in our last post.

And we also mentioned that you had to know where you are NOW in order to figure out how to get where you want to go, right?

Today’s Abraham quote aligns with that perfectly:

In your moving yourself up the Emotional Scale, your business will begin to prosper in new and profound ways! Your business, your relationships, your finances cannot grow beyond your emotional response – nothing can grow beyond your emotional response. Everything matches your Set-point of emotions on every subject that exists.

That last sentence is so important – “Everything matches your Set-point of emotions on every subject that exists.”

When setting goals (which unfortunately we don’t always connect to our dreams and that’s why they often are not achieved but that’s for another day), we often tend to be so objective about it and look only at the facts. But it’s really what’s invisible and inside of us that’s key – our emotional set-point, our feelings about these goals. You can “wish” for something all you  want but if when you “stop” wishing for a few minutes and realize that you have to “wish” because you do NOT HAVE whatever it is you’re “wishing” for, then you’re attracting more of that lack – more absence. And you know what? Often times that’s because that’s where we’re comfortable. Comfortable is a damaging word for sure – it keeps us from growing beyond where we are right now.

Take some time to look at how you FEEL about where you are and how you FEEL about where you want to go. If there is a sensation of discord, then look more closely at the specific emotions behind that discord. Is it fear? If so, fear of what? When we examine our fears we find out so much about where we are and what is keeping us there. Also, when we begin to examine the fears and get specific about them then we can see that whatever is behind them is not really so frightening at all. When you get specific, you can evaluate where you are and what you want to do about that one particular specific thing.

So your action step today is to determine where you are emotionally in regard to your dreams. If it’s “that was a great dream I had but there’s no way I could ever achieve that because I’m too old” or something like that – stop and examine all the parts to that one sentence and see if it’s really true.

Write all these things down too. It’s important to connect the hand and mind to help you analyze and feel them better. Keeping a record will also help you later when you want to change these feelings and emotions or when you want to measure your progress!

What Are Your Dreams?

Can you turn your dreams into goals? Are they the same?

I think that your dreams are the beginnings of your goals. The reason they really aren’t goals yet is because they aren’t specific enough and maybe not attainable right now. If you are a couch potato but your dream is to be in the Olympics, that’s not very attainable RIGHT NOW, is it?

But if you take your dreams, make them very specific and then “chunk” them down (meaning break them into chunks) and develop a plan to get there, these individual goals become attainable. Your dreams really are alot of goals put together and visualized as having been accomplished.

Do you know a way to take your dreams and bring them into reality? Or do they just remain dreams – far away and only available when you’re not actually living in the “moment”?

You need a plan. I have a method for you to create your own plan, have a coach and make your dreams come true.

But if you just started with the tip I gave you here, you’ll be so much farther along than you were a few minutes ago.

So go ahead, write down your dreams – don’t be afraid to commit them to writing. You do NOT have to share them with anyone and in fact, I discourage sharing them at this point – many people are well meaning but say things that may cause you to question your dream. You don’t want that right now.

After you’ve written down your dream then go ahead and write down what it would take to get there. Write it in as many steps as necessary. The smaller the steps the better.

Do it now! Get a head start on the New Year (I never understand why we wait til the New Year to make resolutions – we waste so many opportunities the rest of the year).

Everything Is Always Working Out For You…

Read today’s quote with enthusiasm. Although it has a soothing and calming effect, it is really filled with joy and energy. Make this your mantra – know that you can’t get it wrong! Everything always is working out for you. I know that every time I look back at things in my life – especially those I’m not happy about “at the time” they occur, lo and behold, really good things come/came  from the events.  Perfect example was my not getting into medical school the first time I applied. I was devastated of course. But as time went by, I was diagnosed with epilepsy after a long period of “having spells” that no one could figure out. If I had been in medical school at that time, I would have probably flunked out or dropped out because the experience was not enjoyable at all (and no, I don’t think I would have been diagnosed earlier). So, I finally was diagnosed and started on medication and my seizures were controlled. I continued to apply to medical school and got in! At the time, the seizures and the diagnosis were not fun or enjoyable in any way BUT the result was great – everything was controlled by the time I started my medical education and that was one less thing I had to worry about.

There is no risk for you out here on the leading edge, ever. And when you come to understand the true nature of Well-being in which you have come forth—then you can relax and begin to enjoy this magnificent adventure which is your creative life experience. We are not here to guide the specifics of that which you choose. You get to choose that, and you can’t get it wrong. We are here to assist you—only to assist you—in finding vibrational harmony with your desire; knowing that when you find vibrational harmony with your desire, you are, in this moment, a joyful Being. And that is our dominant wish for you.

Remember that things are always working out for you. Say that over and over and over. I have a secret saying which, of course, I am not going to share because then it wouldn’t be a secret but it’s essentially the same concept and whenever things don’t seem to be going my way (which really means that my perception of what’s happening doesn’t fit in the narrow confines of what I’m expecting – how constricted could I possibly be), I start saying that and everything DOES turn out great.

Try it, you’ll like it. Think back over your life and see how it’s worked for you.

The Results Are In & They Are Interesting….

What a great way to learn about what people want and don’t want – do a simple survey.

I was very surprised at the results. Take a look below:

The first question was “Do you struggle getting through the holidays”. Here’s what everyone responded:

This surprised me most of all I think – very happily but still interesting. The majority of the people who took the survey do not have any problem (or perception of problem) with the holidays. This can show any number of things:

  • We had a small survey size
  • Our population is much more enlightened than the general public and knows how the holiday should be viewed and are spiritual beings
  • You can’t believe everything you read (or another way to put that is that different sources tell different stories – didn’t we just find that out with the U.S. elections?)
  • All of the above

I am glad that most of you do not struggle or have difficulty with the holidays.

The answers to the next question made me happiest. It was “do you think you can change this struggle”

Of those who felt there was a struggle, the majority felt that they could change it. That’s terrific because it’s true!

The next answer  surprised me a bit. As far as which areas are the major areas of struggle:

I would have thought that money or time would have “won”. But there was a varied response here (of course this question allowed people to answer all the applicable areas that were struggle for them).

When they narrowed things down to the major area of “struggle”, here’s what the “survey said”:

Here money won out over all the others. That is pretty consistent with what you hear about all the time.

But what if we changed our focus and vibration regarding the Holidays and what they mean to us (or what we really want them to mean)? Would that, then change our priority? I think it would.

So this leaves me with a dilemma. It doesn’t appear there is a need for a 3-4 week class. I may end up doing a single webinar on that right after thanksgiving (or I may just record it and post it – we’ll have to see).

Regarding individual coaching – that is something I’ll also have to think about. Since people are doing well  on their own I might just wait til after the first of the year. Stay tuned on that one too.

The most important response of all that people made was one that said (and I’m paraphrasing) that they didn’t really  think they had much problem with the holidays but just filling out the survey helped them get clarity. I appreciated that response greatly.

Thanks to all of you for helping me come up with what you want or need!

p.s. One final thought…what would your response have been had I worded this differently – “Do you experience stress during the holidays”….something to think about, huh? What is it that people perceive..Comment below if you’d like.
