Weekend Round-up – After All, It’s Rodeo Time in San Antonio!

not-this-week---croppedI should have titled this post as “embrace the moment” but I couldn’t resist the rodeo reference for San Antonio.  And thanks to the wonderful folks at KJ 97 I get to go to the Rodeo on Monday night!

But, I digress (so what else is new, huh?).

Tuesday morning after a long weekend I was finishing up my chores and just getting ready to write “Tuesdays with Terrie” when something happened to me that landed me in the Emergency Room and has me now facing surgery. Obviously I didn’t get the post done. It’s been a week of riding the emotional roller coaster but it has taught me a great deal. Needless to say I’m not going to be able to do the 100 miler I had planned at the end of March – so that’s two events that my body has “told” me I wasn’t going to do. There probably is a deeper message in there somewhere but I’m not looking that deep.

It’s also keeping me from a publicity event I wanted to go to in April.

How do I feel and how have I felt about these happenings (or should I say NOT happenings)? Initially those thoughts and feelings were overshadowed by fears and concerns about the medical issue but then as I did embrace the moment, I realized that there are other things for me to learn, experience and enjoy on this new road I’m going to travel. I am learning to take things as they come and deal with whatever drops in the road in front of me. To assess the new obstacle, figure out what it means (if possible – sometimes it’s not possible to figure that out right at the moment), and then enjoy the journey with it – almost as if I’d picked up a friend or other traveler along the way. Enjoy the time with that companion and learn every single thing I can from it. Everything always works our for me (and you too) as long as you recognize when you’re resisting something and then drop that resistance and go with the flow. It will work out, you just cannot control how or any of the other details. Just declare that it does work out for you and it will.

I’ll keep you posted about my journey and hopefully Tuesday we’ll have another “episode”.

Take care

Terrie

The Economy Is A Mirror Of Your Mind

economy-hi

Did you ever notice how some people see great things in a pile of “muck” and others just see “muck”. You see what you are conditioned to see and what your beliefs tell you to do.  The more you learn to see the good in things, the more you will attract good things into your life. If you think “I never have any luck” or “nothing good ever happens to me” or “the economy stinks. How could I possibly be expected to succeed or make any money”, this is what will occur in your life. Basic Law of Attraction. Couldn’t be simpler.

If you say things like “the economy stinks so my income will stink”, you are giving away your control in life. You make yourself a pawn to others and to the revolving factors in the universe. Do you really want to do that? Do you want to give up control of your life? I know that I don’t wan to do that in any way, shape or form. So, if I want good fortune to come to me, I look for it in every situation. I’ve talked about this in last week and this week’s “Tuesdays with Terrie”. There are lots of things I could find “bad” or “wrong” with the latest events in my life but why would I want to concentrate on them? I don’t want more bad things in my life. I want to see the good in the experience and see the lessons learned and that can be learned from these events. And the more I look, the more experienced I get so that it becomes automatic to look ONLY for the good things.

Take my developing epilepsy when I was 21. I could have been all bummed out because that meant I could no longer pursue my goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. But, I was so ecstatic that a) I didn’t have a brain tumor (one of the two “options” I was given – “you either have epilepsy or a brain tumor”) and that b) my seizures were easily controlled with medicine and c) that I hadn’t been killed or injured when I had a seizure driving. Because I was focusing on the good in the diagnosis, nothing bad ever came from it. And as it turned out, having a disability has helped me understand and help my patients live with something that has a stigma in their own lives. How could I possibly be unhappy when I’ve seen all those benefits?

While THE economy is a reflection of Universal or Divine Mind, your own personal economy does NOT have to be. When people hear that the “economy is bad” and think that they have to be subject to everything that everyone else is, they just give up and sink into the despair and belief that they will just be poor until the economy changes. When a person understands that this is just a collective thought that they don’t have to buy into, then they can continue to work in the positive aspects of their own prosperity. They do not give their control to anyone else. The Universe loves action and these people take action, making their own success and economy. They know that they attract what they focus on and instead of focusing on (and complaining about) the “bad” way things are going, they simply look for solutions. Their mind is solution oriented, not problem oriented. As such, they find the answer and bring prosperity into their lives – over and over again.

Which type of life do you want? Prosperity or poverty? If you choose prosperity, stop listening to others, stop watching the news, stop being so impressionable and start bringing what you want into your life!

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1“Negative emotion is your indicator of resistance, while positive emotion is your indicator of allowance. And they are on the same meter: allowance; resistance. Allowance; resistance.” —Abraham [Excerpted from the workshop: Monterey, CA on March 20, 2001]

Think of this “meter” like the Wheel of Fortune and as the needle spins it goes from allowance to resistance back to allowance again and round and round.

If you can identify and understand that when you are feeling negative emotions, you are resisting and not letting things into your life that you really want, this will set you up to really want to change your emotions. The positive ones will let the good come into your life so why wouldn’t anyone want to dwell more on the positive emotions and do anything they can to garner more of them. Not only will the positive feelings/emotions bring you more of what you want, but it also just plain feels good!

Pay attention to your emotions this week and see what you can do to transform the negative ones into better ones! See if it gets easier during the week. It should.

Influential Laws That Govern Your Life – Part 16

rule 16Law of Obedience

This is listening to the still, small voice within; listening to hunches; listening to teachers and not listening to other people’s opinions.

Remember to look at facts first. When you are looking for something that you want to do, you are asking for something, you have to look at the facts. Someone will say “these are the facts. It’s going to take you X number of hours in school to learn to do this.” Or “You have to have a backer for this thing you want to do.” You agree with all these because they are statements based on facts.

However, facts are based on opinions. They may or may not be true. If you believe them to be true, then you are accepting the authority of somebody else who has opinions of limitation or lack. This is a big thing you have to learn. You don’t listen to anyone else. You know that you and God, you and the divine substance, can do anything. The only limitation is your belief about this thing.

If you believe there is no limitation, that this divine substance flowing in and through you gives you the ideas and the way and the means and the health and wholeness, then you don’t listen to anyone else.

The key is listening to that still, small voice inside that says “Yes, you can! Sure you can!” And not listening to all of the people who say you can’t.

If you’re getting instruction and you disagree with this inner or outer instruction, for example, if you were to go to a lawyer and ask “how should I be doing this?” and he gives you a whole lot of rules and regulations on what you have to do first and second, then you have to make a decision. “Do I want to listen to him? Or do I believe that I don’t have to do all of those things?” When you get that belief that you don’t have to do them, then those rules and regulations are not always there. Other things can come into play.

The good ole standby is “Show me the way!” Whenever you say that, something or someone will show up and give you a message/sign. Do not listen to yourself or to others that say “you can’t”. If you still think you can’t or don’t want to do something, then just put it on the shelf and let it go. Very soon, you’ll get insights on why, when, what and how. Don’t argue. Just say “when I’m supposed to know it, I’ll know it”.

 Law of Transgression

Everything that you have ever done against your fellow man must be wiped out, righted, paid in full or transformed. What you ahve done to others, you have done to yourself. This also comes under the law of justice. You do things that hurt others. Say “I apologize. I didn’t know what I was doing.”

It’s a good idea to watch your tone of voice too. Sometimes you can be harsh when you don’t intent to be. Most of the time, the intent that comes in is a lesson in growth.

You can put delays in by believing in delays. You can put interferences in by not clearing yourself from some of your past experiences. Then when you realize that this apology needs to be done – even if it’s a general one. You do whatever it takes to make things right! You do not have to go directly to the person because sometimes you can’t. You can also write them letters even if they have passed on. They will still get it.

Twice a week spend a few minutes and review “have I done anything this week that would delay my next step in my Divine Plan?” Learn to be alert. Learn how your actions affect another person. If another person reacts to you and your tone of voice, it’s time to bite your tongue and say “oops, I don’t want to get caught like that.”

 Law of Grace

This is the one we’re all reaching for. It’s living in the presence of total, complete, infinite love. It’s giving love; it’s receiving love. You have no negative thoughts, words or actions. You become master of demonstration and manifesting. Things become instantaneous. When there is only love, that’s when we demonstrate all the time.

The Law of Grace supersedes all others. You’ll be a ta place where you just say “I choose…..” And it will happen. There have been very few people who could do this.

You use this law by practicing non-judgment in all things. That’s how you get there. Once you get there, you don’t practice anything. You just know that you’re a loving person.

Be attentive to what you’re giving out. Make sure you’re giving only love, peace and harmony. Declare everything good, whether you believe it or not; whether it appears on the surface to be good or not. Declare it good so that it will become good very quickly.

Know that you are the authority. You are the agent. You are the comptroller and you have access to all that you choose to have.

When you start working with non-judgment you start by saying “gee, there’s another way. I’d like to see what it is.” If you can get away from judgment, not using the words “good” or “bad” but just recognizing that this is an energy and people make it one way or the other and begin to see people as this oneness that we keep talking about, then that oneness becomes everything good.

In reaching the point of non-judgment, you realize that all judgment is based on somebody’s opinions that may or may not be accurate. We’re told how to think. You’re told how to live. This includes everything from government to people to situations, everything. Hair color, skin color, the size of your nose – this is all judgmental and has nothing to do with the inner self.

When you reach the point of the Law of Grace, you will love, appreciate, be kind to others. You’ve given up gossip. You’ve given up problems. You have perfect health and wholeness and life in any and everything you do.

Keep all the laws in balance. AS you’re learning these laws, learning the positive words and giving up the negative ones, you’re giving up what’s wrong with the world and what’s wrong with people. You’re not making those kind of decisions – the ones that aren’t yours to make.

Stop the gossip, stop talking about people. Gossip is sometimes the good as well as the not-so-good. Sometimes you get into other people’s business. It’s not really yours to get into.

Bottom line – have praise and appreciation. Create good in everything you do. Prove that you can do the impossible. Prove that you’re a genius. Prove your ability to tap into the wisdom of the ages. Who do you prove it to? Yourself, the God of your being!

So endeth the discussion of these spiritual laws – go forth and practice them! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist)

Love Week – Happy Valentine’s Day

LOVE-WEEK---BASEHappy Valentine’s Day and Congratulations on participating in Love Week!

Today is a time for you to be happy and share your life and love with your significant other.

Make today a day of total love and giving. You will most likely surprise yourself if you just spend the entire day thinking of ways to give to someone else. Even if you don’t have a significant other, go outside yourself and do things for other people.

Leave a bigger tip than usual. Smile more at someone. Say hi to a stranger. Ask someone if you can help them. Label all the produce (if that’s an option for you in your grocery store) so the cashier doesn’t have to look everything up. Call someone or email someone who you haven’t communicated with in a long time. Reach out to someone you think might be lonely or could just use a nice pick me up.

Love costs absolutely nothing! You have an unlimited supply within you. Just as your heart continually circulates blood throughout your body, your love is continually circulating and replenishing too. In fact, the more you give out, the more you’ll receive back. Won’t that be cool?

Stop thinking about yourself today. Don’t lament your woes and definitely don’t have a pity party today. Have a party about others and give them the gift of your love. There is nothing more valuable than that.

See if you can continue to focus for the rest of February on some aspect of your existence you love. Keep me posted if you do. I think if you continue this practice for a month, then you’ll be amazed at the changes in yourself and your life. Who knows what will happen.

Enjoy your day!

Terrie
