Law of Attraction – Rule #8 – Don’t Operate In A Vacuum

rule 8 aOne of the most important parts of working with the Law of Attraction is to surround yourself with resources (people primarily) who will support you and get you to wherever you want to go.

You’ve seen me talk about this in my multiple posts about my 2012-2013 running escapades. I certainly could NOT have done any of it had I remained in a vacuum and tried to do it all on my own. Maybe it’s because of my age or maybe it’s because I got wiser but I realized that I had to surround myself with a team in order to achieve my best.

You all know that completing a 100 mile event had been a 15 year goal for me. Back then I did solicit the help of a long distance coach for awhile and that helped quite a bit but for some reason I can’t remember much about what happened that I stopped pursuing my goal. But I do know that on my Ultra attempts in the past I was all alone. I did not have a crew, support or really anyone to share anything with. That is a very lonely feeling, especially when you want to celebrate your successes or cry when you tried hard but didn’t succeed. I do remember stopping at mile 38 at the Vermont 100 miler. If I had had someone there with me I might have just stopped for awhile until my digestion got back on track and then continued on. I don’t know. But I do know that it was a lonely day after I quit.

Being 15 years wiser and having worked for all those years with the law of attraction, I was able to draw people and situations to me but when I started attracting my support team there was no way a 100 mile event was in my iStock_000016837338XSmallmind. In fact, when I first started down this road, I was not even running again even though I had always wanted to get back into it. I had finally gotten the courage to go look for a personal trainer to see if I could get rid of some upper back pain which had been keeping me from even walking for long periods of time. I felt that if I strengthened my core, then that pain would disappear. I fell in love with my personal trainer (friendship type love – he’s engaged). I began to get stronger and stronger and felt really good too.

I had already had been working with an EFT practitioner and that was extremely beneficial. Since I was releasing and clearing so much from my past, I knew I needed to continue with this miraculous woman. She helped me in every aspect of my life, no matter what it was that I needed.

Then I got the courage to start running again (August 2011) – I didn’t tell anyone of course. Then I ran my first race in November 2011 – it was a 5K. I did poorly in comparison to everyone else but it was great for me because I had gotten out there in front of the world and that was the first step. By then I had decided I was going to try to get ready for the 2012 New York City Marathon. So my training began. I went at it heavy. I needed mental and physical support and by that time I was able to get it from my trainer and from my EFT practitioner.

As time went on I realized I needed more support. I began having physical issues and knew that they weren’t going to be taken care of by anyone in the strictly medical field. My trainer came to the rescue again. I started working with my AIRROSTI provider. This has become my mainstay and this woman has enabled me to do everything I wanted to do.

My boss and colleagues also became supportive of me and I really needed that support.

Then I was able to attract a woman who was a local race director (and I had no idea this organization even existed) and she gave me the opportunity to achieve my goals. She became a valuable member of my team and then the other runners I met during the Nov/Dec 2012 time frame were key members of my team too.

So you can see how much of a support team I had surrounded myself with. There is no way I could have achieved any of the goals I created without this entire team. But as usual with me, they all came into my life for various reasons unrelated to their ultimate use. I consider my trainer to be my personal coach, not just my personal trainer. This man is so smart and knowledgeable about life that he has taught me and cheered me on and helped me learn so much about myself and about my abilities. Same with my EFT provider. Kay has opened doors for me that I had slammed shut so many years ago. Once they were opened up through Kay, Dan helped me get through them.

You just cannot do it on your own. You have to have people that will help you. Get rid of your pride and get rid of the thought that you “can do it all on your own.” You can’t do it as well (or with as much fun) unless you have people providing what you can’t. That’s where the pride factor comes in because you have to realize you cannot do everything on your own.

Remember that the Universe abhors a vacuum and you want to fill it in with the right people (or other resources such as my gym membership, or finding my EFT practitioner online). Let the Law of Attraction bring the people you need into your life!

Law of Attraction – Rule #7 – What’s The Return Policy?

rule 7 a “Oh my goodness…it’s not what I wanted! It looked different in the catalog. What do I do now?” “What’s the return policy on this?” “How can I send it back?”

Have you ever had that thought when you’ve received your order or even brought something home from the store – “I knew I should have tried it on, darn it”.

So what DO you do when you end up with something you thought you wanted but didn’t really (or in other words, you didn’t spend enough time and energy deciding the specifics of what you were asking for)?

Now that your manifestation has materialized, it’s yours. If you’re not happy with this, you can change it. If it’s an object, that’s a bit more difficult but there are definitely ways to recycle it. You can give it away. Depending on what it is you could take it in and get it reworked, redesigned. If it’s the wrong size, you could keep it until it fits (or find someone who can wear it). Or, you could return it and either get a refund or a replacement. That takes more time effort perhaps but it works.

If it’s not a physical object, you can turn the situation around. I don’t know if you remember Rule #1 (pay attention) but I manifested and materialized a way out of my last 100 mile event because my fear was working way overtime and was very powerful (as is our fear most of the time). And much to my dismay I was able to manifest it and have it materialize very quickly!

I got what I ordered!But when I “opened the package” (so to speak), it surely was NOT what I really wanted. So I had to “return” it. Fortunately I was able to look at the situation and realize where it had come from – no, my identity hadn’t been stolen and someone else ordered this. The result I got was what I had asked for! This step of looking at what you got and trying to figure out how it got to you is vital before you “send it back”. You have to examine what you have and look at it closely. Ask yourself some hard questions:

  • What the heck was I thinking?
  • What fears and anxieties were occupying my mind with such power?
  • Why was I having these fears and spending so much time with them?
  • Is this what I really want?
  • If not, why was I concentrating so hard on it – you know you only get what you really put your energy into.

Take the time to analyze what you received. Acknowledge that you did, indeed, order it and that it IS yours and was a product of your “ordering process”. Then you can examine your “ordering process” and find what’s inherently wrong with it. Do you focus on the lower vibrations (this assumes there are no bad vibrations, just lower level – all vibrations and resultant feelings are telling you something that you need to hear)? Are you just operating in some pattern/habit that you’ve always employed? Did you make a conscious decision to bring this into your life? The answer to that most likely will be “no” if it’s not something you want – however, you still have to acknowledge that YOU DID bring it into your life. The Law of Attraction works whether you receive good things or bad things. Always remember that. So, the package you receive that is not what you think you ordered really is what you ordered. You just have to work to figure out which buttons you pushed on the order page to bring that awful color or size to your address. iStock_000020287681XSmall

Often people see this when they claim they are focused on abundance and prosperity and yet they are just certain that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work because they still have so much debt and the bills are piling up all around them. They may be trying to focus on abundance and are uttering the words for abundance but deep inside they are still sure they are never going to get out of debt and will always have all these bills because “after all, nothing good ever happens to me” or “you have to work hard to make money” or “life is a struggle” or “you have to be greedy and selfish to be rich” or “money is the root of all evil”.

See how your limiting beliefs get in the way all the time? You have to identify these things before you can make the changes (and I recommend EFT as the best choice for clearing but there are many). That’s why you have to hold your manifestation in your hands (literally or figuratively), turn it around and around and look at every side of it so that you can determine the vibrations it’s emitting and where inside of you it came from.

Once you’ve dug deep, then you can turn it around. This is just what I did when I found the resources to work on my back and demanded that I get a better materialization – my vibration level was so high you could palpate it. I had no more fear, no more anxiety. I had faith that I could make it work (with my team). And I did get a better result (return) – not only did I make it to the starting line two days after I couldn’t walk, but I completed the 100 mile event!

Using this self-examination process is like reading the return policy and then implementing the instructions – some places you have to call and get an authorization number for return and then have to put it in this type of bag, etc. Some places you have to email them. Some you can just fill out a piece of paper and send it back. But you don’t know what the process is until you look for it! That’s what I’m asking you to do whenever you get anything you don’t want. Don’t just put it aside and say “oh well, I’ll just go order another thing”. Figure out WHY you got the wrong materialization to begin with!

Wow Am I Blessed!

Can you imagine my surprise (and happiness) when my wonderful trainer, Dan, brought me into the office and showed me this! And then said it was for me – at first I thought it was something he had won but then I saw my name! This is, perhaps, the most meaningful gift I’ve ever received because this is from the one person who went through all the trials and tribulations with me to get me through all my endurance events. It was because of him that I could truly embody what he says I embody and inspire.

Dan has changed my life in so many ways in the two years I’ve been working with him now. He is always upbeat and supportive and never ever lets any of us down. He even went to the New York City Marathon when I had decided not to go due to Superstorm Sandy. But he gave me the courage to prepare for that event and to know that I could do it if I had gone. Just in case you missed the whole story, he did definitely get something out of it – he got engaged to a wonderful woman who is the perfect match for him. 302890_4413659232773_1324206015_n

He then supported me and trained me to build the muscle, courage and fearlessness to do two 50 milers and two 100 milers in the space of a few short months. I’m no easy person to deal with when I’m not stressed out for a big event that will fulfill a 15 year dream so you can imagine how much fun he had seeing me 3 times a week during that entire period. Yet, he was always there encouraging me and telling me I could do it.

Then he showed up in the middle of the night for my first 100 mile  event and cheered me on in a way I’ve never been supported before.

He is such a good, honest and wholesome man that I often feel as if I don’t deserve to have him as my trainer or friend. And then when I realize he’s stuck with me, I thank God for all my great and wonderful blessings and he is pretty close to number 1 on that list of blessings.

He even created this saying and it has brought tears to my eyes several times since I received this beautiful gift. His words mean more than anything and could have just stood alone but when you combine them with the beauty of this statue, there is nothing better.

Law of Attraction – Rule #6 – Act “As If”

rule 6aIf you don’t act “as if”, then you don’t truly believe you already have what it is you wish to physically manifest in your life. It is imperative that you believe you have already received/attracted whatever you want. Just as when you place the order from the catalog or online, you know you’ll have it. You just have to wait for it to be delivered (the law of gestation – everything has a period of time it takes before it actually physically comes into being – babies take 9 months; acorns, roses, weeds, all have different gestation periods).

But since you “know” you are going to receive your desire in physical form eventually, you should begin to act as if you have already received it. If it’s new clothes, clean out your closet or your drawers so that you will have a place to put the new item. If you’ve decided to manifest a new car, then make sure you have a place for it. Is your garage full on one side (if this is a second car) or is there a nice space there waiting for it? If you want a mate, is there space for all that person’s clothes and belongings? There has to be a place in your life where your manifestation can come and take up space. Just slip in so to speak – “as if” it was already in your life!

“Why do you have to do that?”, you may ask. “Why can’t I just wait for it to come? After all, I don’t want to get too excited.” “What if it doesn’t manifest?” “What if….what if….what if….?”

If you are asking the “what ifs…” then you don’t have the faith that once you have placed your order (and have been sure and specific custom_movie_directors_equipment_12462about what you want), you need not worry. As one of the principles of Reiki says “Just for today I will not worry”. If you believe in the Law of Attraction and know that it works (whether you work it or not), then you need not worry. It will come to you. What happens is that we question either ourselves or the Laws of the Universe and then we start to worry and hem and haw and go back and forth. We make excuses for ourselves – “Well, that really wasn’t what I wanted anyway so it’s ok that I won’t get it” or “What if I really do get it and I’m not ready, or it wasn’t what I really wanted?”

Much of the resistance to acting “as if” is that we might feel cocky or like a braggart if we act that way. There’s also the worry that we will look foolish if we act as if but if it doesn’t come about…what we don’t realize is that if you think that way, you are creating (or magnifying) the resistance you have – it really means that you don’t believe that you deserve this manifestation or that it will come to you. Some of the problem is because you’ve been “outlining”, which is a no-no. Outlining means you’ve told the Universe how and when to deliver the manifestation to you. Your job is simply to precisely define what you want and then believe that you have it.

There is a difference between manifestation and materialization. You have manifested it once you’ve placed your order. The materialization is dependent on your vibrations, your level of resistance (related to your vibrations), your ability to detach (the Law of Detachment) knowing that it is coming, and the Law of Gestation. If you spend your time trying to figure out when your manifestation will materialize, you will have set up resistance and you don’t want that at all.

If you want a new car (and have placed your order), drive your old car being grateful that it is taking care of you while waiting for the “new member of the family” and be grateful for all it’s done for you in the past. Sit up straight and act as if you are driving that brand spanking new car! Clean out the garage and make a nice, neat place for it.

If you want a great relationship, smile and write in your gratitude journal that you’re so grateful for this person who is just what you’ve always dreamed of. Dress up, put your make up on (if you’re a woman; if you’re a man find a good suit or a wash that special pair of jeans you wear on your first date), clean the house etc.

You must not be thinking of being wealthy while worrying about how you’re going to pay the bills or dreading going to the mailbox for fear of what’s going to be in there. You have to believe that you are prosperous and change your vibrations so that you are exuding the power of abundance. This is vital to your success. Acting “as if” helps to elevate your vibrations!

Law of Attraction – Rule #5 Part 2 – What’s your “But”

whats your butWe each have limiting beliefs and they are unique. However, there are certain beliefs that appear to be universal limiting beliefs – ones that everyone has deeply ingrained in them. Do you identify with any on this list?

I’m not good enough.
I’ll never be enough.
††I’m not lovable.
††I don’t know what to do.
I can’t do anything right.
There’s not enough time.
I am worthless.
I need someone else/something else to make me happy.
I’m a failure.
People are judging me.
I need to be in control.
People are not trustworthy.
I don’t belong.
I have to be perfect.
Life is dangerous.
Life is hard.
No one loves me.
I never get a break.
I always lose anything I get.
I don’t deserve it.
Everyone else comes first.
There’s no point in wanting something because it will be taken away.
I’m a victim.
I have to work really hard to earn love.
I’m always disappointed.
Something is wrong with me.
I’m a burden to others.
I never win anything.
Rich people are greedy.
Money is the root of all evil.
Money doesn’t grow on trees.
You have to work hard.
I’m not worthy (variation of some of the others listed above).

I bet if you thought about it, you’d be able to come up with some other “Universal limiting beliefs”.

Write down those that have resonated within you. These are ones you must eliminate in order to make progress.

“But why can’t I just do affirmations?” you may ask.

Because simply doing affirmations is like trying to build a structure on top of a stretch of land that was just mowed and not dug up. You fluffy_cloud_text_11026have to clear the land before you can lay the foundation. If you put something on top of the mowed land, the weeds and roots will continue to grow below the surface and soon will be interfering with your structure. But if you’ve cleared the land and the roots your structure will stand tall and unencumbered. Clearing the roots is the same as clearing your limiting beliefs.

There are many ways of clearing and you can search the internet and try the one that works the best for you. I prefer denials and EFT as my clearing methods but I know there are many others out there. I have found EFT to work the fastest and is probably the easiest when done correctly (focusing on specifics rather than on generalities).

If you have alot of affirmations around the house or on your computer you can use them to help you identify your limiting beliefs. Say an affirmation and then pause. If that little voice in the back of your head says “but…..”, then that is your limiting belief. It’s the easiest way I’ve found to identify those limiting beliefs that are mine specifically. I can use the Universal Limiting beliefs to start with but then to delve in deeper, I go with the affirmation approach. This is NOT what the creation of affirmations was intended for but it’s a very useful technique.

Write down the things you want in life and then create the affirmations that go along with that desire. Then say the affirmation with strong feeling following that emotional statement with a period of “listening”. Once you have heard your little voice, you will know what you really need to work ok. You can create denials (”There is no poverty in my life”, “There is no loneliness in my life”, “There is no pain in my life”, etc) and say them over and over several times throughout the day. Or learn about and use EFT to clear those limiting beliefs.

Once you’ve identified and worked to clear these beliefs, you will now be able to fill in the space with the affirmations and visualizations that represent what you want!

Get to work. This is the most important rule of all.
