Where The Heck Are You?

Do you find yourself thinking “I haven’t gone anywhere in my life. I’m stuck in a rut.”? Or any phrase like that?

If so, the answer to your blues may be very simple. It’s something I’ve only recently discovered (and chronicled with you).

Take a look at where you were a year ago (or even 6 months ago) in relation to the same situation or event. I think you’ll be surprised.

You see, not only does instant gratification work in the present tense and we “want it now” but it also prevents us from looking back very far – sometimes we don’t even look to last week.

You frequently hear the phrase “history repeats itself”. But I bet that if you start paying attention to the past in light of what you want to alter, your history will NOT repeat itself unless you choose for it to.

This is the essence of my “Activate Your Life’s GPS” system. There is so much attention on goals that it’s no wonder people get lost and don’t achieve them. You have to have a specific destination (many people are not specific enough in their goals and so they get lost in the nebulousness of them) – but you also have to know where you are to start with. And if you don’t know that, then, just like your car’s GPS, you can’t even get started because you don’t know how to navigate to the destination because you don’t have a beginning point.

And if you don’t look at your own history and where you were a few months (or a year) ago, then you really still don’t know where you are. I have a pet peeve in medicine. Interns and medical students would always tell me that a patient’s “vital signs are stable” but then when I asked what they were, they would only give me one set of numbers. They didn’t understand my look of consternation nor did they understand when I asked how they could then tell that they were stable. You see, in order for something to be “stable” you have to know that it hasn’t changed. And if you only have one set of values, then you don’t know that it hasn’t changed. Same goes for your life. If you don’t know where you were a year ago, how do you know where you are right now. Our perceptions get warped by what’s immediately around us instead of putting everything in perspective.

Stop Struggling – Dealing With “What-is-itis”

Well, I did go to the Abraham workshop yesterday and although it was more wonderful information, I did NOT experience the energy levels I had hoped for. That said, however, I would attend every single one of them if I could. It’s a phenomenal experience that I recommend to everyone. Abraham (and Esther) is quite a character and tells it like it is! I resisted much temptation though and only purchased one item (those of you that know me know that was a major accomplishment). However, before I pat myself on the back so much I must confess that part of the reason for that was that I had most of what was on display…LOL.

In the aftermath of yesterday’s workshop I figured it was time to get to what’s coming up for most of us- the holidays. I know that a general theme is “Struggle” when it comes to the holidays.

If you were in the FAVE class or even if you were on the webinar the introduced that class you’ll remember that we get more of what we experience. And that “what is” is really old history. This is how Abraham puts it. Anne and I would tell you that you are what you THOUGHT – a major variation on what people commonly say “you are what you think”. In reality, what is today is a product of what you created (past tense) with your thoughts and feelings leading up to its manifestation. Did you know that you can change that? Do you want to change your “what is”? Do you want to stop struggling with the holidays? Wouldn’t it be great to have an easy time of it this year? No worries, no problems, just love, happiness and spirituality as it should be?

Here is today’s Abraham quote and one that is so applicable to what we’re talking about in this post:

What-is has no bearing on what is coming unless you are continually regurgitating the story of what is. By thinking and speaking more of how you really want your life to be, you allow what you are currently living to be the jumping-off place for so much more. But if you speak predominantly of what-is, then you still jump off —but you jump off into more of the same.

I’m thinking of having a class for 4 weeks “Telling a Different Story – Making The Holidays Pleasurable”. AND I want to offer individual coaching to help you get through the holidays too.

But I want to know what you want. So, I created a survey to find out what everyone is interested in. Please hop over to “Do you struggle with  the holidays” survey and answer a couple of questions for me. I’d really appreciate it.

Happy Veterans’ Day everyone (as you know I’m a 30 year veteran of the Navy and have been working for the Army now for 8 1/2 years)!

The Holidays Are Almost Here….

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is in less than 2 weeks now and then the even more mad rush toward the New Year.

Are you already telling the same old story? “How will I ever make it through?”, “I don’t have any time to myself”,  “I hate the holidays”, “The holidays are not about spiritual things, it’s all monetary now – they’ve lost their meaning”, etc.  What are some of the stories you’ve told over the years?

This is a perfect time to change your story. Remember that when we tell a story, we’re creating more of the same. And then we wonder why we don’t get what we want. Start by telling a different story – “I really love the holidays”, “I can get through them with total calm and enjoyment”, “I am never pressed for time”, “My family enjoys this spiritual time”, etc.

Try this every day in your life. You’ll hear me talk about telling a different story over and over again because it’s such an important part of our life.

Did you know that you could use a coach to get through the holidays? I’ll be offering a “special” soon for a select group of people to help them get through the holidays. You’ll want to watch the website and your email to take advantage of this offer.

Which Switch Are You Operating?

What are you allowing in your life? You do realize you have control over all of what you bring in don’t you?

You have your hand on the switch. You are the allower or the resister. And your emotions tell you which you’re doing right now. It’s easy once you understand the formula: When you feel good, you’re allowing good. When you don’t feel good, you are not allowing good. We didn’t say, when you feel good you are allowing good, and when you feel bad you are allowing bad (although it may translate into your experience in that way). There is only a Source of Well-being—which you are allowing or not.

How are you feeling right now? I am feeling pretty good about my decision to stay home from the NYC Marathon so I am allowing good to come from that. I signed up for a new course (another year long one) yesterday but I gave myself about a week and alot of EFT before making that decision. I didn’t want to just jump in and form an opinion and then “regret” it or “think I made the wrong decision” (again). So, this time (as opposed to the marathon decision) I had more time to examine my emotions and how I felt about it. The few “negative” emotions I had didn’t feel good. So I examined them and they really weren’t what I thought they were. They were  really fear based hiding under something “more acceptable” such as “I don’t have enough time” etc. EFT helped me get into the real cause of the “bad feelings” and once I uncovered them and tapped on them I was able to be “unstuck” and allow the good emotions in and the ease with which the excitement flowed into my “unstuck” drain once again amazed me.

We spend way too much time analyzing things instead of just going with our emotions and figuring out what it is they are telling us. Our goal should simply be to allow good into our lives and cherish it. We need to stop standing on our head and looking at things every which way in order to dissect them. Just go with your feelings and you’ll be right most of the time. Of course, that’s not natural for us but if we practice feeling good and as a result allowing the good in, we’ll be surprised and when we see the results, we’ll want to continue to allow the good feelings in.

Try it, you’ll like it. Partner up with someone to coach you on this. Let them guide you in your allowing good to come into your life.

Who Are Your Cooperative Components?

This quote from Abraham summarizes not only the past 9 months for me, but also the past few days of working with all of you.

My Imagination Attracts All Cooperative Relationships… You have the power to evoke from others the relationships that you desire. But you cannot get to a new-and-improved situation by giving your attention to the current situation. The Universe, and all physical and Non-Physical players in it, is responding to the Vibrations that you are offering; and there is no distinction made between the Vibrations that you offer as you observe, and the Vibrations that you offer as you imagine. . . . If you will simply imagine your life as you want it to be, all cooperative components will be summoned. And even more important, all components that are summoned will cooperate. It is Law. The experience that you have with others is about what you evoke from them.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the book, The Vortex, Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships # 470

It’s really all about Cooperative Relationships. We bring others into our lives to work together. We can bring them in as Cooperative components (meaning they all work together) or Uncooperative (meaning the opposite). Naturally a person wouldn’t intentionally bring them in as uncooperative but by “telling the same old story” they will be bringing in the same character types (even with different faces) as they have been all along.

What I realized in the past several months is that it’s really all about teamwork (Cooperative Components) and I was able to bring them into my existence as soon as I thought about them. When I first started imagining and training for the NYC Marathon a year ago, I was operating from the same place I had been 11 years ago when I really did not have any resources or any type of components to assist me in reaching my desires (many reasons) so I was on my own. But this year I have a much different perspective on life and have grown over the last 11 years and although I was initially “stuck” in the old ways, as I went along, my dream became such a  large, powerful and positive force that I (with help from Kay and EFT) began to take the blinders off and see an entire world of Cooperative Components around me – all there for me to call into my world. And believe you me, I started calling them and bringing them into my inner circle.

I could never have gotten to this point without my TEAM of coaches. Each has their own aspect of my life to address, but you know what? They are all Life Coaches even though that’s not what they are called. Why do I say that? Because they are all an integral part of my life – my life, not just my training. I pulled out all the stops in the last two months and solicited AIRROSTI doctors as an additional force of my team. And if you want a laugh, you can see my AIRROSTI doc, Dr. Jackson in a very funny interview – it put a big smile on my face because I’ve watched her an “Adam” interact and they are just like this interview. But, I digress….

My personal trainer (Dan) and my EFT practitioner (Kay) have been with me the entire year. Without them I would not be where I am today. I have to say that the Internet was a coach too. I found information on my shins and hips on the Internet and that’s why I was able to get through the inevitable injuries from such long training. I had THE most Cooperative Components possible. And there were the other Components too – Abraham-Hicks, Christy Whitman, Dr. Jeanette Cates, my POD group from my coaching class and on and on and on. I listened to Abraham’s teaching every Sunday during my 5-7 hour long runs and I learned more than you can possibly imagine. I was running in the Vortex (another post to come) almost every minute of every run. And you can’t ask for anything better.

So, what Cooperative Components have you drawn into your life? Which ones can you recruit and add to your team? Do you need help thinking around your box (not just outside of it)? Do you have a stable person (or persons) you can go to whenever things are not going as you would like them? What do you think you could accomplish if you did have a coach as a Cooperative Component? Who is your coach? Would you like to reach further toward your goals. Holly reminded me the other day of my primary goal in life – to dedicate a wing of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital to my hero – Suzanne. Thank you for that Holly! Who do you have on your side to bring you back to your path to the Vortex?

Think on these questions and let me know what you think and where you think you really could go if you brought the best possible Cooperative Components into your life…comment below.
