momentum-monday1 Make this week “FASCINATING” instead of “FRUSTRATING”.

I have to admit this is not my original idea. I read an email from someone about this a few weeks ago. This guy recommended substituting the word “fascinating” every time the word “frustrating” came into your mind or out of your mouth.  I’ve tried it and boy it really does make a difference in my vibration. I’ve even used it to substitute for other words that aren’t on the vibrational plane I want to be on.

Just try it this week. When you say “I’m so frustrated by this project (or by Joe Blow or this job or whatever)”, stop for a second and consciously say “I’m so fascinated by this project (or whatever)”. Let that sink in and see how you feel. Give it a few moments to permeate and spread throughout. I think you’ll be surprised at what a difference it will make in how you feel. I bet you’ll even smile and whisper to yourself “wow, that does feel different”.

I also bet that when you do this a few times you will actually start finding solutions to problems or issues that have been bugging you. Remember that the vibration of a problem is different than the vibration of a solution and once you’ve changed your vibration from frustration to fascination, you’re on a much higher plane and it will surprise you how much more of the world and ideas open up to you. It’s like looking at the world from the base of a mountain compared to looking out once you’ve reached the summit!

See what other words you can come up with that you can easily substitute but just for this week, let’s focus on making our world much more fascinating.

Pay Your Bills With JOY…

pay your bills with joyIt’s time to take a different look at your prosperity. We talked about this a few weeks ago when it was time for your taxes. But it’s pertinent all the time. We just need to expand our vision and get a bit out of our own little world.

If you want more prosperity, you have to feel prosperous. The best way to do that is to be thankful and joyful when you are paying your bills. You should write on the envelope “thank you” or “I am grateful for this statement”. If you use the word “bills”, it’s even more important that you feel deep gratitude. Why? Remember that your subconscious does not have a Merriam-Webster dictionary inside of it and does not know the difference between bills and bills – meaning the currency you carry around in your wallet and the pieces of paper that come from companies asking for money. Thus, the more gratitude and joy you bless both types of bills with, the more the Universe will bring prosperity back to you.

If you look beyond your wallet and bank account when you are responding to those statements (paying your bills), you’ll see how many people have been (and will be) positively affected by what you are now paying for. There are the people who worked hard to make the product (or provide the service) you purchased. You have helped them. Maybe this was a single mom who has 3 jobs and just barely making it from paycheck to paycheck. You have helped her and perhaps even bought a meal for her child. Then there are the folks who are sending you the statement. You know they don’t make a lot of money either. You have helped them with their income. And so on down the line. Try to imagine ALL the people you are helping by paying this one bill and be thankful that you are helping other folks even if you don’t know them. Imagine that you do know them and that you are there handing them the payment and seeing the smile and perhaps some tears on their faces.

Frequently we tend to only think of those in “power” who run the corporations that are “charging outrageous prices” etc. All that does is make the process painful for you and increases your despair, disappointment and resentment. I encourage you to look beyond all those “people in power” (PIPs). I don’t know about you but I work for a BIG power corporation (the government) and if people stopped paying what they are supposed to pay, I would not have an income. What about you? If you’re in business for yourself, it’s as bad or worse if others just didn’t want to pay the bills you send because they don’t think they “should”.

Try it for a few months. Bless your bills, write on them “Bless this bill and I’m grateful for this”, and visualize giving someone on the other end their money. Then pay the bill, smile and move on. In a short while this will be contagious and you’ll be blessing everything you pay for and you know what? You’ll start reaping the benefits. Gratitude is the strongest force in the Universe.

Should Your Doctor Talk To You About The Law Of Attraction At Your Next Visit?

LOA-doctorThe Law of Attraction is ALWAYS operating in our world (and everyone’s world) whether we’re aware of it or not. What we focus on is what comes in to our lives. And what we HAVE FOCUSED on in the past comes into our lives too. Instead of the saying “you are what you eat”, we should accurately substitute

You are what you THOUGHT!

We often either neglect the effect of emotions, feelings and vibrations on our well being or we tend to think the Law of Attraction only applies to certain aspects of our life, such as “abundance” or “prosperity”. Naysayers of the Law of Attraction say that it’s wrong to focus on money and wealth, interpreting that this is the meaning of prosperity and abundance. But both prosperity and abundance include all aspects of well being, NOT just money. Abundance can refer to health, wealth, peace of mind, love, relationships, any part of your life. Same goes for prosperity.

Thus, it stands to reason that your health can be definitely impacted by what you’ve been thinking. This can be in the form of stress about your job, stress about your financial situation, or it can take the shape of worrying about contracting a certain disease or illness.

Many people, however, do not want to hear that they may be the cause of their condition. After all, that would then mean “it’s all in your head” and no one wants to believe this. But let me talk to about the difference. Psychosomatic illness is a phrase that people cringe at when someone utters it. But it’s so applicable to every single disease of condition you have. What it means is that your body (somatic) responds to your thoughts (psycho-).  This has been proven and it makes sense to anyone who understands the Universal Laws, including the Law of Attraction.

So, to me, it’s logical that Law of Attraction questions SHOULD be a part of the history and physical and discussion that your physician takes when you come to his office. A couple of weeks ago I had to complete a new patient questionnaire and it contained 135 questions. Not ONE of them had anything to do with how I was feeling, what I was worried or stressed about, what I had been thinking of for the few weeks before going to see someone. All of these are pertinent to figuring out what is wrong with the patient as much as all the lab tests they do.

Why are these questions and concepts so important? Your doctor can prescribe you tons of medicines and get many tests but if he or she doesn’t dig deep into what’s behind your symptoms, they will continue even if they are toned down by the medicines. This means it’s liable to return once this exacerbation is “cured”. If you don’t get the splinter out of the foot, it will continue to fester and hurt no matter how much you drain it.

There are also other considerations – what is the “up side” of having something wrong with you? You need to answer that and your doctor should pursue that too. If it’s not identified, then the condition is likely to persist. I have told this story before but it bears repeating. When I was an intern, I dreaded going on my pediatric rotation because I didn’t like kids. I had thought about how much I disliked kids and didn’t want to do the rotation for a long, long time. Interestingly, the week before I was due to rotate onto pediatrics I started getting sick. I was never sick. But, believe it or not, I had developed pneumonia – showed up on the x-ray big as life. As such, I was excused from the first 7-10 days of my rotation. Did I know that was why I got sick then? Heck no, and this was not a well known topic at that time either. It wasn’t until many years later that I realized what I had done. And yes, I did it to myself. I caused myself to get pneumonia. I know there are many other times this has happened as well but none so obvious as that example.

Some of us are prone to accidents and musculoskeletal injuries. These folks are often having too much going on in their lives and they want to be immobilized and prevented from moving forward. The best way for that to occur is for your muscles, bones and joints to be affected.

Often people who develop serious illnesses such as cardiac disease or even cancer have a long history of being concerned about getting it especially if it runs in their families. They feel it’s inevitable and that puts their vibrations right there to attract that to you. None of this is intentional and no one should either rebel at this theory or kick themselves saying they should have been able to prevent it. It’s a philosophy that is coming more into acceptance as the days and months go by.  There are so many programs that involve alternative or complimentary medicine and energy medicine, all of which should be incorporated in your armamentarium for conquering illness and injury.

It’s my thought that a physician should be able to discuss this with their patients and try to get to the root of everything. But, from personal experience, I know that patients get upset if they hear things they don’t want to hear about. There lies the dilemma. These are also the same people who will complain about their doctor not paying enough attention to them. If a doctor is afraid of the repercussions from addressing these issues, why should they bother in this litigation minded populace. It appears that it’s going to be the patients job to work on finding out what’s going on inside of them and being as honest with themselves as they can be.

Look inside whenever you develop any symptoms. What’s going on in your life? What are you concerned about? What has been going on in your family or at work? What are your beliefs? Ask yourself the hard questions and then be honest with the answers.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1What’s on your plate for this week?

Let’s start the week off on the right vibrational set! Pick some events or categories you have this week and use this to craft your momentum swing. Start right now thinking about that thing and visualizing the result you want.

Let’s say you have  a presentation to give on Friday. Instead of scurrying around feeling anxious and nervous about whether you’ll be prepared or perform well, start by taking a few deep breaths.  Then close your eyes, picture yourself sleeping well the night before the presentation, getting dressed the day of and looking at yourself in the mirror realizing how successful you look. After that, with your eyes still closed, watch the Academy Award winning movie you’re creating. In this scene you’ll see yourself giving the most amazing presentation that anyone has ever seen. You’re watching the faces of the observers and notice how mesmerized they are. As you wrap up this perfect meeting, you are surrounded by coworkers and bosses that flock to you to congratulate you.  How do you feel when you open your eyes? Keep that feeling going by constantly replaying this movie. You are the star in that movie and it will be available to you any time you feel your momentum slipping.

Let’s say you have a doctor’s appointment this week and you’re very nervous and scared about the doctor’s visit as well as very worried about what the results of your tests will show. Again, start with the deep breaths and then close your eyes. Picture yourself standing tall as you walk into the office and everyone there treats you so wonderfully you wonder if they’ve mistaken you for someone else. But they haven’t mistaken you, they know exactly who you are and are very happy to see you and they tell you so. You notice that you’re taken into the exam room but it’s warm and not so frigid as most doctor’s offices always seem to be. They ask if you need anything and you respond that you’re fine. In the next act you see the doctor coming in to the room and you are grateful (and amazed) that you have not had to wait. In the next to last act you listen to the doctor tell you that your tests turn out fine and that you’ll respond really well to whatever she (or he) is going to give you. The last act is you expressing your gratitude both to the doctor and to the Universe for this great news. Finish up with a few more deep breaths. Repeat this movie over and over as soon as you feel some anxiety.

Then if your momentum starts to go in a direction other than the way you want, use the most valuable phrase there is – “Nothing and nobody can interfere with my prosperity, well-being and peace of mind, not even myself”. Say this over and over until you feel that spinning wheel of momentum either stop or change to the direction you desire.

It’s important to not contribute to any anxiety by telling the wrong story this week. Do NOT participate in discussions about whatever event you are going to be working on this week. If you do talk to others about it, you’ll be tempted to tell the story behind and then voice your worries and anxiety – this is human nature. But what it does is change your momentum in the direction you do NOT want it to go.

Try this all week. Make watching your movie your meditation practice this week. Let us know how it goes.

Instant Gratification vs Instant Satisfaction

Everything nowadays has to be “instant” – happening right now. I want it and I want it yesterday! Wait? You want me to wait? Why on earth should I wait? I’ll go over here where they offer something that gives me results right this minute.

According to the dictionary:

To Satisfy is to “fulfill the desires, expectations, needs or demands”.

To Gratify is to satisfy…lol. Also “To give pleasure to by satisfying desires”

The distinction we’re making here is “instant gratification” which is often used to label the satisfactions gained by more impulsive behaviors: choosing now over tomorrow. The key parts for us here are that there are  IMPULSIVE behaviors  and choosing NOW over tomorrow.  We live in an age where everything is centered around instant gratification. When I worked in the ER, people would come in and demand antibiotics because they had a sore throat and were “sure” they had Strep (this was before the rapid strep test). Considering there are over 100 viruses that cause sore throats and one bacteria that needs antibiotics, the probability that their infection was a virus, not Strep, was very high. But people didn’t believe that. They wanted antibiotics so that they would feel better NOW. I can definitely understand wanting to feel better NOW. But I also know that the body has a process it has to go through to, not only fight the current disease, but also to create immunity for future infections. So the first part is the instant gratification part but the second is, by analogy, the satisfaction phase. Satisfaction, huh? What I mean by that is that you are comfortable knowing that are doing the right thing for your body now and for the future even if it means it might take longer for you to feel better.

Anne used to tell people that they really didn’t want the Instant Gratification part because then statements we make like yelling at your kids “Get down from there. You’ll fall and break your neck!” would come true and your kids would fall and break their neck. We don’t have enough wisdom yet or we wouldn’t make statements like that.

We come across the Instant Gratification desire when people are saying “The Law of Attraction doesn’t work” or “The Law of Attraction doesn’t work for me”.  There are multiple reasons people say this or believe this. Either they are not congruelaternownt between their vibrations/feelings and what they are saying they want. When they are really focusing on the problem (like “gees I don’t have enough money to pay the bills this month”) and yet saying “I am prosperous”, they are incongruent. Their focus is on the lack, the poverty feelings. That is what they feel – the anxiety and worry over how they are going to pay their bills. So, simply making an affirmation, a statement that they are prosperous, won’t do squat because it’s not really what they feel. Their vibration is in the lack mode whereas their words reflect poverty. What does the Universe pay attention to? Feelings/vibrations or words? Of course, it’s feelings/vibrations.

There is also the Law of Gestation that governs how long it takes for things to come to pass. Just like when you plant a seed, it isn’t going to be a flower the next day. AND, it won’t be a flower at the same time as another type of flower grows. Everything has to abide by the Law of Gestation.

What will help you along and make your desire come to you sooner is the Satisfaction you feel. The key thing is to believe and feel BEFORE the manifestation appears. We’ve talked about momentum and getting in a space where you can change your momentum or bring it back up after the unwanted momentum has run its course. I continue to feel so satisfied and happy when I think about and “go to” the run across Tennessee in July. In reality, though, I have no idea whether I’ll be able to complete the event given the rigors of it and I know that it will not always be a pleasant time but I’m not even thinking about those things. I’m thinking about getting to the start line and then experiencing the joy that experiencing it is going to bring me. That will change my momentum in a heartbeat. It’s still months away but it gives me such satisfaction to think and feel about it. If I were concentrating on Instant Gratification, I would only feel good about my most current run or training run or how work went yesterday.  And most likely I’d be depressed because those things are over and done and those who need instant gratification need to have something happening RIGHT NOW.

Once you can go to the feeling of having the manifestation before it’s here, you’ll have the primary process conquered. It’s faith but based on knowledge of the laws of the Universe.

Go for the Satisfaction and put the Instant Gratification on the shelf for awhile and see what happens.
