Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1 Pick a feeling you’d like to experience more of this week.  Write it down somewhere – the action of writing is powerful and the Universe doesn’t care where you write it (napkin, back of your hand, notebook, post-it, scrap paper, etc).

Now associate some event you’ve experienced in the past where you felt this emotion/feeling.  Stop what you’re doing and sit back and really remember that event. See if you can recreate that wonderful feeling you had. That’s the key right now – to experience that emotion just as if it’s happening to you right now.

Once you have that feeling re-embedded in your mind, practice calling it up again. Practice that a few times right now. The point is to be able to feel that emotion almost with the push of a button. Some people find the use of an “anchor” helpful in recreating the feeling. I’m defining “anchor” in this situation as an action that will cement the feeling and bring it back to you immediately. For example, you see athletes clenching their fists and pumping them in the air sometimes with the word “yes” and sometimes without. The action of clenching their fist and pumping it cements the feeling they are experiencing. Usually it’s of some success. You can clench your fist without punching it in the  air, you could cross your fingers, tap your head, do something that you don’t normally do in your every day life. You don’t want to pick some action that you repeat all day long because it won’t anchor the specific feeling you’re looking for. Make it something unusual for you.

Once you’ve picked your anchor, practice using the anchor to generate that feeling you’ve chosen for the week. Practice that a few times right now.

Use this anchor to recreate the good feeling either whenever you just want to feel good or more importantly when you catch a story or events going in the wrong direction. By wrong direction I mean one that you don’t want. If things start going down the wrong road at work, use your anchor to bring up the good feeling and stop the negative momentum as soon as you can. As Abraham says – if you’re on a hill in San Francisco and you give your car a nudge, you could stand in front of the car and it would stop. But if you are at the bottom of the hill and you stand in it’s way, the momentum it’s gathered will not be stopped by you standing in front of it and you’ll be wiped out too.

Thus, our goal is to stop the momentum before it gets going very fast. Use the anchor-feeling method to try that this week. Do this consciously and see how it works. Let us know in the comments box.

Which Comes First – The Chicken or the Egg?

chicken_or_egg_400_clr_10064No, this isn’t an early Easter post 🙂

It’s about your expectations and needs.

The question you must always answer is “Can you feel happy BEFORE you have the actual manifestation”? Hopefully the answer to this is yes!

Close your eyes and start to feel what it will be like when whatever it is you want has come into your life. Feel the joy, the happiness, the ecstasy you’ll be experiencing when it happens. Garner these feelings BEFORE you receive the manifestation.  Remember that it’s a three step process – Ask (you’ve already done that), Receive (the Universe has already created it and brought it to your door), Allow – this is the key – eliminating resistance and creating the vibration that will enable you to allow you to accept what you’ve asked for.

So many of us have resistance and so we don’t get what we want and have asked for. And as typical humans we then blame it on the Law of Attraction, simply proclaiming that “The Law of Attraction doesn’t work”.  At some point we need to take responsibility and realize that the Law of Attraction works but we have to go through the steps and “do” our own work.

We are vibrational beings and our primary moment by moment goal should be to raise our vibrations in an attempt to feel the joy that is our right.  We can feel joy without having something in front of us.

Let me give you an example. Even if you are tired of hearing about my running experiences, they help you understand what I’m talking about.  I am looking forward to the running trek across Tennessee in July. I’ve been aiming for this for almost a year now and whenever I start to feel “down” for some other reason, I always “go” there in my mind and it raises my vibration immediately. I feel happy. Do I have the experience yet? No, it’s not July and I’ve never done this event before but I can feel how I will feel in the 10 day trip. My vibration skyrockets when I do this.

But that’s not a physical manifestation, you say. True. As I was planning this post I realized that even though I have not manifested a car yet (because I haven’t made up my mind as to which one I want – we’ve talked about that before), I get great joy and pleasure out of imagining each car at the time I think I want that kind of vehicle. My mind gets off any problems or troubles and I smile and think about sitting in and driving that particular vehicle and I am happy. This feeling can last as long as you’d like. You just have to continue thinking about the feelings you’ll have.

In the health arena, imagine and then feel how you’ll react and be inside when you get the clean bill of health and the doctor tells you everything is fine. Hold on to that happy feeling – like you’re doing cartwheels. Or, if you want, envision how great you’ll feel when you feel strong and able to run or lift weights or just make it through the day with tons of energy – whatever it is you are asking for.

Do NOT entertain any “Buts” – get off your “but” and if one comes into your thoughts, then immediately say “That is not my truth” and go right back to envisioning and feeling the joy associated with receiving that gift.  Remember the 68 second process and try to hold onto that good vibration and excitement for at least 68 seconds  – simply basking in the joy of receipt.

Try it, you’ll like it and you’ll realize you don’t really need the manifestation in order to experience the happiness and other feelings that go along with the manifestation. Plus, you’ll find yourself going to various “places” in your mind and emotions during the day just to feel better!

Let me know how it’s going for you.

Stop Telling Your Story!

box-stop-telling-story1

STOP! Stop telling your story and rewrite your legacy instead.

Why am I being so “mean”? We’re trying to focus on generating the momentum you want to have – the love, excitement, joy and happiness. Most of our stories start the momentum of something we don’t necessarily want to continue.  Even if the “moral of the story” is that you changed and now your life is better, you don’t want to be telling the entire path you took to get there because that starts the momentum of what you were and didn’t like/want. So, why would you want the momentum to be carrying you along in the old direction?

“It’s not that simple” you’re thinking. “I can’t explain what’s going on in my life without telling the history.” Not true.

You can say

I now know what it feels like to be excited 24 hours a day and how to get myself into a wonderful state.

You don’t have to say

A few years ago I was really depressed and even desperate to the point of doing something I would regret. I tried this and I tried that but nothing seemed to work. I really hit bottom. I didn’t know what to do, where to turn, how to get out of the dumps. I tried therapy, I tried self-help books, I tried everything and nothing worked. Then I found Abraham-Hicks and now I know what it feels like to be excited 24 hours a day.

Even when I was writing these made up statements, I could feel a different momentum with the second one, couldn’t you?microphone story

What advantage did hearing the second quote give you? Anything? Did the information in it matter? Not really. It’s just history. What we’re trying to focus on is the NOW and making the NOW be as great as it possibly can be. We want the Universe to  really sense our positive vibrations and bring us more of what we’re feeling – more joy, love, happiness, health, well being, peace of mind – whatever it is you want!

So next time you hear yourself telling people your story about how you got here, stop and ask yourself “Is this the momentum I want to increase?” If not, excuse yourself and get to the punch line or tell a different story. If so, then continue on. You’ll hear me talk more and more about your story and legacy in weeks to come!

Let us know what your experiences with this awareness is – put it in the comment box below.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1 Starting a new feature called “Momentum Monday”.

Begin your week this week by paying attention to your momentum. Your momentum and your vibrations go hand in hand. And sometimes once you’ve gained momentum it’s very difficult to stop it – that can be good if you’re on a really positive, upbeat roll so to speak.

However, if you’ve begun on a downward spiral of momentum, ride it out (but don’t continue to add to i) and it will be over – at that point you can start over and create your own positive momentum.  Consider meditating or even taking a nap to end the downward movement of that type of momentum.

Think of things you love and talk to yourself about your feelings regarding them. For example, if I want to improve my momentum I’ll start thinking about one of my races that was very enjoyable and where I met great people – I would probably pick the Valentine’s Day Ultra or the 6 day race from last December. I would talk to myself about how much fun I had, how great it was to be outside for 6 days, what terrific people I met, how I met my goal mileage and how I felt about it and continue on.

The Universe responds to our vibrations and our vibrations are a product of our momentum.

When you catch yourself gaining (or preferably when you start) momentum, you can change it if you catch it early enough. Try to move to another “Momentum disc” (a spinning disc works for a visual – as if you’re standing on that disc and floating along. Stop talking and feeling about the things you do NOT want more of. Get your momentum going on the things you do want more of.

Til next Monday – comment below if you like Momentum Mondays.

Doing Your Income Taxes Can Actually Make You Prosperous

cutting_taxes_400_clr_8732 It’s that time of year when people are probably frantically scurrying around collecting this receipt and that receipt, hammering the calculator and wiping sweat from their brows……it’s almost April 15th – T day – Tax day in the US.

I know that folks usually dread this activity.  But, let’s look at another way to approach it. Wouldn’t you like to look forward to paying your taxes and preparing them? I know that if I had a choice between dreading and happily anticipating something, I’d pick the happy anticipation every time. I think most of you would too.

But many people have emotional reactions to doing and paying their taxes. Some feel remorse when they see how much money they have spent (despite, perhaps, New Year’s Resolutions to “do better”). Some are angry that they have to pay all that money back to the “government” and don’t know what it’s being used for. How about “It’s unfair that I should have to pay this or pay more than Mr. Jones”, or “I am barely making it so how can I afford to pay more – the government has more money than I do”.  There’s the infamous “Why” – “Why do I have to pay taxes? What does the government do for me?”

So we have anger, remorse, regret, fear (of losing that money), sometimes despair and desperation (it’s like taking the mask off and seeing that what your finances really are – the reality of that can be alarming especially if you have the Ostrich syndrome and only look at your financial situation this one time a year). Disappointment can be in there too if you have to pay out or if you’re not getting as much back as you thought. And I’ve only hit on the top level emotions – remember that what we create in our lives is created based on our vibrations and feelings.  Even if you’ve said “it doesn’t bother me”, if you’ve had discontent or issues with paying your taxes before then those emotions (and vibrations) are most likely still deep inside of you.

What to do? Approach paying your taxes in a completely different way.

Each time you pick up a receipt to log it, pay attention to how you felt when you purchased the item or service. If, for instance, you’re noting that you paid $1000.00 for a group of new outfits for a conference or event. Take a moment and close your eyes. Think back to when you were shopping if that’s an enjoyable activity for you (it’s not for me) – think of the fun you had trying on different clothes and moving around in front of the mirror seeing how great you looked. Enjoy (again) the fun you had deciding which outfits to pick.   Then, think about when you wore the outfits, how great you looked, how they made you feel, how much you connected with others at the event you went to, what great things came out of it. Actually feel those emotions. Smile, feel the pleasure you had. For me, it’s running outfits and gear. Not only do I have fun picking out the gear and imagining what I will be using it for but then when I’m packing to go on a trip for a run, I have fun again imagining what it’s going to be like either wearing or using it. Then, there’s the best part – actually using it. But, often that’s a letdown because I’ve built it up so much… ha ha.

BUT, my point is that you can re-experience all these fine and fun feelings while you’re holding those receipts in your hand.  Be thankful you can call up those feelings and memories at any point and feel happy. This is how you move your vibrations up to a much better feeling place. When you get your vibrations raised like that, the Universe brings you more of what you’re thinking about and in this case it will be great things, not more despair, regret and remorse.

However, you can multiple these feelings even more by adding another thought and feeling into this. Think about how much you are and have been supporting other people who are working hard (maybe even harder than you). You helped them when you purchased those items and you’re helping them now because despite what you think and hear, there is benefit from paying your taxes and these benefits do help PEOPLE, not THINGS. If nothing else, you’re helping pay the salary of the people who work at the IRS or those who are helping you, perhaps, put your taxes together. Even if you use a software program like “Turbotax”, someone created it and does customer service and works on improving it etc. And so you are helping pay their salaries and helping them support their families.

Always look at the PEOPLE on the receiving end. Don’t think of it as “The Government” – that is too impersonal. Think of the various types of people that are involved in reviewing the documents you send in, then processing and distributing the funds to various projects etc. You are HELPING PEOPLE.

But what if you had medical problems and had to pay big money as well as go through the “not so good” feelings of being sick or having a relative be sick. I would imagine there are some good things that came out of that experience. Plus, remember all the PEOPLE that you “helped” pay their salaries (maybe buying diapers and formula or first grade clothes for their kids). Also, think of the intangible things that might have happened. Did people come out of the woodwork supporting you and showing you that you weren’t alone? What good came out of the experience even if it felt like tragedy. There is always good, we just have to look harder sometimes.

Between reliving the happiness you’ve experienced in the past year and realizing you’re helping so many people, you should be able to actually enjoy this process. With a raised vibration, there will be more prosperity coming to you! Watch and see. I once got a check from the IRS over a year later telling me that I had overpaid on my taxes and received $4000 back from them.

Now, get to work and record your feelings and emotions as you go along….or do it at the end of the day. Why? You’re too busy to do that, you say. You can read this back later when your vibrations are a little lower than you want and reading these emotions and experiences will lift your vibrations back up to where they will be emanating joy and happiness to the Universe.

Try it! I think you’ll like it. Let us know by commenting below.
