I Want It & I Want It Yesterday

instant gratification2…. and the Law of Attraction says it’s out there but it hasn’t arrived yet. Therefore, the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for me!

I hear that over and over again (and as a result I post about it frequently too). Why is it so hard for people to believe that the Law of Attraction always works – all the good and the bad (remember that there really is no good or bad – that it’s all a matter of degree and the contrast shows us what we really want)?

Once you figure out what it is you really want and get specific about the details of that goal/desire (not how it’s going to be delivered), you make a statement that you want xxxxxx. You can now move on with your life and let it go. Your order has been placed and the Universe has created it an is ready to deliver it. But if you continually revisit and wonder if you did the right thing or if you need to do something different for it to arrive. You begin to question the Universe. You forget the Law of Gestation and you continually dig up the soil to see where the rose is. That will only keep the rose from growing and continually questioning or doubting will keep your “order” from being delivered.

Always remember that when you have placed your order (decided what you want), leave it alone. Don’t continually be thinking about it because that then focuses on your lack of it. That’s why I recommend you go to bed at night with the thoughts of how you feel – how you are healthy and how you are prosperous in every aspect of your life. Do NOT think about being healed = lack of health. Don’t focus on your bills being paid = lack of prosperity.

If something isn’t coming to you, then remember the Law of Gestation and let your desire go again. Tell yourself that the gestation period hasn’t completed yet. You can also examine whether or not you’re focusing on lack in any way. Are you thinking about your symptoms and fearing what they might mean? Are you focusing on the bills that are lying around. If you are, then the prosperity will not come to you because your attention is on the absence of what you want.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1Practice what you preach they always say. And I needed to remember that this weekend.

I have been having some strange physical symptoms lately and yesterday they really got to me and I wasn’t doing anything but thinking about them and trying to diagnose myself (they say a patient who has himself as his doctor is a fool and I definitely fit into that category).  Even though, at times, I would remember the great saying “That which I feared greatly came upon me” and know that every minute of every day I’m creating my own reality, I still couldn’t seem to stop the momentum. But I didn’t even have the presence of mind to stop fighting that momentum and letting it run its course. So between the resistance I was putting out against these weird symptoms and trying to put the  brakes on this momentum, it was just getting worse.

Like a smack in the head while lying in bed I realized I had completely forgotten my toolbox – the various techniques that you can use to change your momentum or eliminate the resistance. Some tools work better than others – depending on the situation.

In my case last night, I remembered that I had not even thought about EFT (emotional freedom technique) which would remove the feelings of fear surrounding the symptoms and allow things to progress as they should and maybe even disappear. I do know that whenever you’re worried about something, the symptoms intensify and you get to the point where you’ve thought the worst is about to happen (or already has happened)! And you don’t want to be in that situation. You want to eliminate the fear and anxiety as soon as you can.

I used EFT last night and again today and just continued to say “everything always works out for me” and by mid-day the symptoms had lessened.

This week, write down the tools that are in your toolbox and put them on an index card that you can pull out and review when you’re feeling fear or anxiety.

What You “Feel” Is What You Get

what you feel is what you getThis may be more profound than you realize.

I could have used “You are What you Feel” but everyone is using that take-off – “You are what you eat”, “You are what you think”, “You are what you wear”, etc, etc.

But there is so much truth in “What You Feel is What You Get”. Every week I’m talking about feelings, vibrations, beliefs, materializations, manifestations and the Law of Attraction.  And it’s not because I have nothing else to write about (of course I could write about running..ha ha).

I proved this saying to myself a couple of weeks ago when things weren’t going great at work, no matter what technique I tried. When I finally stopped and looked at the whole thing I made myself finally admit that what I was feeling was what was making me miserable and that I was the cause of my own problems. It’s amazing how often you have to be reminded of these basic principles. And I write about them all the time. It shows how wrapped up in yourself and your environment you can get without realizing that you are creating it. In actuality I knew I had created it – I learned long ago to fess up to that. But I don’t think I knew how I was creating it and all the little parts. You can do well at one or two parts but then if there are many other parts, the whole will still be in a place where you’re not happy (even if little pieces are doing better).

So what did I do? I told myself that I wanted to be happy and that the only way that was going to happen was for me to change ME, not them. So, I did. I stopped having to be front and center and have people pay attention to me and concentrated on whatever I was doing and what I was responsible for. When I concentrated on that and stopped feeling deprived, then things dramatically changed. I did have help understanding the framework of the environment and that helped immensely. But the most important aspect of what I did was to concentrate on what I wanted to feel – shall I say that again – what/how I wanted to FEEL!!! I also made sure that just before I fell asleep, I FELT what I wanted to feel – happy, healthy, successful. I focused on that for the few minutes it takes me to go to sleep.

Once I realized that if I spent time trying to make others happy, then I would feel better too. So I started each day with that small goal. To make others feel good and be calm in dealing with them. It ended up causing me to be less stressed and enjoy “the moment” as they say.

It really is all about how you feel and how you want to feel. If you decide you want to feel good, then you will find the way to feel good. I did also use my two favorite quotes “Everything always works out for me” and “Nothing and nobody can interfere with my happiness, health and peace of mind”. Remembering to say those two affirmations when I started to go to another vibration immediately brought me back to my daily goal (to feel good and have a good time at work). The sayings allowed me to refocus and not have the vibration spin way out of control. It was easy to put the brakes on and move back to the good vibration.

How do you want to feel? Start imagining yourself as feeling that way especially before you go to sleep at night. That is important because it will stick with you all night and work like magic in your sleep.

You can do it!

Get Off The Merry Go Round

running_in_gear_pc_400_clr_2628You’ve heard of self-fulfilling prophecies?

What you say and believe over and over, comes true. So, if you say “you don’t (or won’t) love me once you get to know me” and you really believe and feel that, guess what? It will happen. That relationship will end eventually.

A self-fulfilling prophecy is another way to talk about what you believe and focus on, is what you will end up with in your life.

Be careful what you say and think. Make sure every thought you have and every feeling you have is something you really want. And, be specific and careful about what you say.

For example, don’t just say “I’d like to quit this job” or “I want to retire”. Be more specific – “I want a regular retirement so that I can enjoy my health and life.” Otherwise you could end up having a medical retirement and you don’t necessarily want that. So, every time you think about something you want, make sure it can’t be misinterpreted.

When you are examining what you’ve asked for make sure you’re focusing on the positive, not on the lack. I could have said “I want to retire but not medically”. That would make me focus on the fact that there are other types of retirement and the most common alternative is for medical reasons. I don’t want to focus on medical problems or issues. I want to focus on enjoying the retirement and being totally healthy in order to do that.

One little maneuver with your words can make all the difference. See why it’s important to take the time to determine and then define your goals? Make them specific and focusing on the positive aspects of life, not the things you don’t want – the absence of what you want. Don’t say “I want my bills paid off” because you then focus on the fact that you have lack in your life. Say “I am prosperous and have terrific credit”. When you don’t pay your bills, your credit score is affected. This way you’ve said that you have great credit and that will secondarily mean that the things that impact credit are taken care of.

Go for the world but make sure you’ve defined the world the way you really (and specifically) want it.

Momentum Monday

If you are being swept into some current that is not comfortable, or not in harmony with your desire, you must remember that couldn’t happen if you weren’t offering a vibration that matched it in some way. If you’re vibrating differently from that, you’re not having that experience
—Abraham
Excerpted from the workshop: San Diego, CA on August 03, 1997

This is something that’s hard for most people to accept when they initially enter the study and practice of metaphysics. It’s pretty easy to accept that you’ve created the good things in your life. You can hold your head up high, stick your chest out and say “aha, look what I created!”

But then when you see things that are not going quite so well, you want to put the blame somewhere else. It’s hard to accept the fact that you have created these bad circumstances and that you brought cruddy things into your life. I mean, after all, who would do such a thing?

Release the idea of blame. Just accept what this quote says – it couldn’t be happening if you weren’t offering a vibration that matched it in some way. Instead of beating yourself up about it (or worse yet, trying to find someplace/someone to take responsibility for it), simply stop and look at what’s happening. If it’s not something you want to continue to happen, then you can start changing your vibration – slowly but surely. You may have to let the momentum run its course for a while before things change but often that’s easier than trying to buck the current and swim upstream. Let yourself experience what’s happening and see what you can learn from it. It will fizzle out and then you can start to move up the emotional scale in the direction you want to head.

This week, take a look around you and see how things are going. If they aren’t the way you’d like them to go, admit that you created this and that you can, therefore, change that creation and transform it into a great experience.

Let us know what you’ve discovered.
