Don’t Wait On Your “Bucket List”

bucket listAlthough the concept of the “bucket list” is a good one, people should not wait to start checking things off your list.

Tomorrow may not get here so you don’t want to keep waiting for some event or some time in order to start going after what you really want.

Your bucket list is composed of things you want to do or want to have. Why should you wait? Do you feel you don’t deserve to enjoy those items at this point in life? What will make you worthy to have or pursue them?

Why aren’t you worthy now? Do you feel you have an obligation to continue working until you’re ‘x’ years of age? Why? I understand that there are responsibilities people have to fulfill but you don’t need to sacrifice everything forever. You read about people who have tragic things happen to them totally unexpected and their lives are changed forever.

In case you think I’m advocating totally shirking all your responsibilities, I’m not. But I’m also not advocating total sacrifice. There has to be some sort of compromise. Make out your list of things you want or want to do and then you can prioritize them by cost or time expenditure or any other characteristic you want. Then start fitting them into your daily activities. Fit them in with your yearly goals. With a bit of creativity you can accomplish some of what’s on that special list while continuing your “normal” activities. Creativity will add life to your existence as well.

Think about it. Try to find ways to enjoy everything NOW. Live in the now and you will be fulfilled. Be grateful for everything you have and the more gratitude you feel and express, the more you will receive back.

Start your wish list (a better word than bucket list) now and see how you can start incorporating the things in your life now -don’t even wait for the new year to start. Tomorrow never comes. Make great use of today!

As you continue working on your 2015 inventory, think about this saying. I know it’s had meaning for me. But, I have to believe that things are falling into place even when I can’t see what that place is.  I think that’s the problem. We always want to be able to see what’s coming up so we can decide if it’s what we want or not…That’s kind of funny as I write it. That approach is NOT one of faith, nor does it say we have much confidence in our ability to work with the Law of Attraction.

This saying fits quite well with “Everything always works out for me” because if I know that everything is always going to work out for me, then I know that no matter what is happening, it is for the good. It is falling into place. It may not be a place I predicted but remember that when we place our order we should NOT be outlining – outlining is telling the Universe how we want something to occur. Our job is just to “place our order” and then let the Universe find the best way to deliver it. Often times, we don’t do a very good job of “placing our order” – maybe this is  a good time to briefly review what you have to do to get the order actually placed in the Universal Catalog.

  • Decide what it is you actually want. Sometimes this is easier to do by simply listing what you don’t want and then describing the opposite. Make sure that it resonates with you deep inside.
  • Be specific about what you want – go into great detail (this is one of the reasons I’m having you write your script for next year – so you can list the details). For example, you can’t just say you want a “lasting relationship” or an “intimate relationship” because you could have either of those with an abusive criminal or someone who hates everything you like.
    • Write out the specifics and go into the greatest detail you can.
    • Always end with “this or something better”
  • Read the list over again and make sure it’s really what you want.
  • Do NOT allow yourself to be swayed. When you do that, you’ll never get what you want.
  • Do NOT doubt that you’ll get what you’ve asked for – no matter how long it seems to take (remember the Law of Gestation).

Place your 2016 order now!

It’s All About Perspective

perspective2I’ve had another rude awakening in the past week. Seems like they are coming fast and furious lately. But if they help me and by proxy help you, then so be it.

We always look at our environment with rose colored glasses and with very near sighted vision. If we see things around us at all, we filter them and only absorb what we think will service ourselves. This is not meant to be derogatory but it’s fact. Our Reticular Activating System (RAS) performs this function for us or our brains would be so overwhelmed that we might explode (not really but we’d lose more focus than we do now). It’s easiest to give an example. Have you ever listened to someone or seen an ad for a certain type of vehicle and then for a long time afterwards, you see more of that type of vehicle on the road than you’d ever thought existed. That’s because your attention has now been drawn to that object and the RAS filters your environment and “shows” you all of them around you.

I think we intentionally activate the RAS when we practice daily gratitudes. Whatever we are grateful for will be brought into our field of vision. Then the Law of Attraction will work to bring more of what you’re grateful for into your life.

I have decided that I want to activate my RAS much more frequently and pay attention to those around me that are going through hard times and see if I can help them more. Given the issues I had last week and the fear I was experiencing, I suddenly realized that I could get through this because so many other people that I know or know of  have been through much worse and they are not complaining. So why should I be so frightened? Why don’t I just think about them and send them healing energy while at the same time draw upon their strength. That changed my focus and my attitude completely and allowed me to repeat my affirmation “Everything Always Works Out For Me!” I can’t tell you what a difference that made. My heart rate slowed and I was able to be patient while waiting for any news.

I vowed to keep my filter as wide as possible. As I look around and talk to people, I try to see what’s going on in their life and see if they need anything I can give. That may just be a kind word or an offer to listen to them. But it’s so important to realize that others make it through very tough times every day and it’s humanity’s job to support anyone experiencing that.

Try to take your blinders off and on a daily basis review people you know that are enduring worse things than you. Then express your gratitude for your fortune. After that, try to think what it is that might help them. Then do whatever that is! Think outside your rose colored glasses. Be there for others.

I am grateful I had this experience believe it or not.

See if there’s any difference in what you pay attention to this coming week. Then see if you can carry it through to the holidays – remember that’s when people need help the most.

Start Working on 2016 Now

year_crush_year_400_clr_17759I told you last week that I was going to concentrate on you preparing your life for 2016 pretty early. Of course, if you listen to the music in the stores now, it’s not too early (I couldn’t believe that the day after Halloween they had Christmas music on already – why couldn’t anyone create Thanksgiving music?).

There are various parts to preparing for the new year.

Today we’ll start with the inventory phase.

1) You should start listing all the things that went on in your life this past year. I like to do that periodically through the year but it’s definitely important now. You can make simple lists of what happened. You can elaborate as much or as little as you want. The point to this list is to help you remember what you experienced and this includes emotions and thoughts. Did one event seem to lead to another? Did you get “down” on yourself or even in yourself because of one or more events? What did you do to get out a funk if you were in one?  Eventually you’ll be using this list to figure out what you want to change for next year.

2) Once you’ve made your list, go back through it and simply put a plus or a minus by each item on the list. Plus means it was  a good experience. Minus means that it wasn’t as stellar as you would have liked. If right now you feel neutral about it, then you can put both a plus and a minus.

3) Go back through the list and see if any of the events led to the next (or another one down the list); kind of a domino effect. If they did, draw a line to connect them. More importantly see if the plus/minus designation is the same for both.

4) If the plus/minuses are the same can you remember what thoughts and emotions you had during these times? This is important because you want to see if there is any connection in your vibrations or if you were successful in recognizing that you needed to change your thinking and then you did so.

5) Can you recognize any patterns? Where there repeated successes? Failures? Illnesses? Injuries?

6) Take another piece of paper and write down the themes you see.

7) Once you have the themes listed, determine if they are patterns you are happy with or not. Mark them on the sheet or put the ones you’re happy with on one side and those you’re not happy with on the other side.

8)Read the lists over again and determine what you want to change; or, what you want to have more of next year.

9) Go through each of the themes and see if you can identify your beliefs (limiting or not) that worked to bring these events into existence or at least what beliefs affected the outcome.

10) How did the Law of Attraction come into play with these events?

Keep reviewing this list for a few days before we go on to phase 2.

Go ahead and get started. Hopefully you’re like me and write everything down on a calendar that you can use for reference.

Momentum Monday

momentum-monday1Impatience is a sign of hurrying, hurrying is a sign of worrying, worrying is a sign of fear, and fear is a sign that someone has temporarily forgotten that it’s never too late to change their thoughts and, therefore, their ‘things.'”

It’s funny how the Universe likes to play ping-pong with us, trying to get us to slow down and pay attention. It bounces a ball toward us and  if we don’t “get it” and make an appropriate move, it repeats the same motion – only this time in a different direction. It behooves us to realize that we are being sent a message and stop in order to process what the message is. I can tell you from experience that if you don’t slow down (stop hurrying) and listen up, more “stuff” will be sent your way. It’s as if the Universe is realizing that it has to hit you over the head to get you to realize that you’re missing something.

When we feel calm, there should be no worry or fear. If you make vows to change your thoughts, then you’ll be able to slow down.  Remember the law of gestation, though. You have to realize that some changes take more time than others and there is not much you can do about that. But the one thing you have to do is NOT give up because whatever you’re looking for didn’t happen to come your way in the exact time frame you want. That’s where many people go wrong. They give up too soon. Your job is just to change your thoughts and keep your vibration on the right plane so matter how long it takes. Do NOT question the amount of time that seems to go by without the results you’re hoping for.

For the past almost 5 months now I have been focused on NOT being able to run. Even with my experience in metaphysics I didn’t realize what I was doing. First, I was creating more lack (lack of running ability) so, of course, my body couldn’t heal properly to get me back out there. Secondly, my inappropriate focus was bringing more problems that I couldn’t figure out. At least I was savvy enough to know that there was some message in all of this but for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out that message. Until this past week when many things seemed to come down at one time.

As a result of a very scary week, I finally realized that I was bringing all this stuff into my life. I also realized what’s important to me – helping other people is my main purpose in life. That can be done in several ways but I must concentrate on that. And since I want to be able to help others, I have to be healthy. So, I have to change my thoughts and feelings to align with health. I was not doing that. I was too “worried” and “impatient” about what WASN’T happening in my life.

Things change and I know that “everything always works out for me”. I just have to stop trying to be in control of everything (i.e. the timeline for my recovery). Always remember the Law of Gestation in conjunction with the Law of Attraction. People don’t usually talk about the other Universal Laws. That is a mistake. The Law of Attraction is not the only law. Everything has to be in concert when you’re working with the laws.

Is there anything going on in your life that is trying to send you a message? Have you stopped to figure out what that message is? Why don’t you try it – especially as we come toward the end of the year. What has happened in your life this year and what has it been trying to tell you?
